No, covid is just a bad flu...  here in Canada, the health Canada website says there were 4 confirmed cases of influenza last week in a country of 35 million.  Covid has replaced the usual flu season and is killing about the same number of sick and elderly people as influenza usually does.  I say that as someone who just recovered from a bout of it.  Covid is not a big deal, but the reactions of all these idiotic governments all over the planet is going to take years to recover from, if we ever do.  The only country that seems to be doing just fine is China, in case nobody has noticed.  They set the spook loose last winter and are sitting back laughing at the economic destruction it is wreaking abroad while their factories are working overtime...  and sadly, the western nations are all becoming full-on communist with every little bureaucrat having big power.  

Anyway, how do you know that the death rate would have been HORRIFIC?  Been reading mainstream media again?  lol  

I think covid is a small matter, but the reaction to it will have long term and horrific effects for many years to come...

There was an aggressive soi dog around place I was staying in Pattaya last year.  One night he took a run at me when I was carrying bags of groceries.  I got to the door of apartment building, put down groceries, grabbed a broom and went after him.  I got him cornered and beat the living tar out of him while hollering loudly that if this dog tried to bite me again I would break its' neck.  Oddly enough, I didn't see him for over a month, which showed that most of them are, in fact, owned by someone.  Kind of expected the cops to come after doing that, but nothing happened.  After that, when I did see that dog, he gave me a wide berth!  

Yes, any dog living on the street should be culled out of mercy and I would be happy to help because I think it is a big problem.  Grew up on a farm and am not afraid of doing what is unpleasant but necessary.

How many people have died, worldwide?  A bit over 1 million, right?  There are 7.8 billion souls on Earth, meaning, in the first year of this big scary pandemic that is overwhelming a hospital or two somewhere in the US, about one person in 7800 has died.  Yes, indeed, it turns out Covid-19 is a MINOR risk, especially if you are under the age of 70!  Imagine the draconian stuff that the overzealous bureaucrats of all levels of all governments would be doing if there was a real pandemic!!!  The only country in the world that didn't fall for this hoax was Sweden.  Sensible folks there, and apparently some politicians who are not owned by the CCP!  ????

Did I miss something, I thought the story was about marijuana?  You sound like you are confusing it with a dangerous drug, such as methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, or alcohol!

Strange.  Do you only go swimming at night?  You need the pump on when swimming.  Why would you have the pump timer on for the night time… when this is the time the noise will be most noticeable?  

 

A couple years ago I lived next to a Thai man who must have worked bar or something because he was always away in evening and would leave his old decrepit dog outside.  The blind deaf old thing would yowl and bark all night until he came back.  After a couple weeks of listening to the damned thing I decided I had enough.  So, the next morning, I went to his door and apologized with a wai that I was being disturbed by his dog.  Then I pulled out my phone and let him see and hear the dog doing its' thing.  Then I again told him I was very sorry to have to complain to him.  By God, it worked...  he didn't leave the dog outside again the whole time I was there.  I am sure if I had gone over mad and acted angry, he would have kept leaving the dog out just to punish me for making him lose face.  The act of me apologizing to him shamed him into having to treat me like a human!  I have never gotten anywhere here by getting visibly angry with anyone.  It turns Thais into stone and you get nowhere...  and quite possibly make enemies for life if they lose face in front of someone they consider important.  Just my take, but I can't say for sure I am right.  I was honestly quite shocked that something changed, because, in my experience, nobody here gives a <deleted> about anyone else, especially regards to excessive noise!  Only in a place where everyone is completely oblivious to aggravating noise could a bird like the Asian Koel be allowed to reside in a city.  That said, does anyone have a BB gun or .22 and want to make some money?!!!!  

First time I was in country I had a lady over one at my condo one evening.  At some point she talked me into going to join with some friends of hers for food.  We got two motorbike taxis to take us there and did not negotiate beforehand.  Anyway, we arrived and they wanted 100 baht each and the girl lost her mind!  She got loud and started to make a scene and they backed the price down to 50 baht, total...  was an eye-opener for me because I thought 100 baht each was a good price comparative to what I had already paid in the couple for similar trips in the weeks prior to that.  In the story it sounds like these taxi guys were not even remotely legit and the money is so extreme that it is questionable that it even happened.  I did have a tuk tuk driver take me on an un-negotiated detour in Bkk once.  Took me to a dark parking lot and turned off the machine.  Then told me there were good ladies upstairs...  I got fairly wound up and told him if he didnt drive me to the destination I had specified, Immediately, that I would knock him out and drive myself!  My mistake for not greeting him in Thai, I suppose!  Then, when we did get to the place, he wanted to charge me 250 for a ride not even worth 100.  I said no way and gave him 100.  He said he would call police and I said ok, I have video of when you took me to dark parking lot.  His eyes got big, and he shut up and took the 100 baht.  Who says you can't learn important things from a Pattaya bargirl?!!!
