China has been busy injecting some of their people with it as lab rats, but China hasn't even approved this vaccine yet for it's own domestic market. This is due to a lack of efficacy and safety data.

It's an absolute joke that it could be getting approval here before approval in it's country of origin.

Is this why they want to force foreigners to take the vaccine? so if we don't turn green with two heads, it will be safe for Thais to use?

What no scams in the Philippines, or any where else.

Just saying there are better places in the future to choose over Thailand. I live here in Thailand, so I won't be moving anytime soon. But you never know.
like this Covid vaccination they're going to force on foreigners...it will be a chinese vax, I can say, I don't fancy one of theirs floating around inside me. Bill Gate's one is bad enough. I would only trust the Oxford AstraZeneca one in the UK.

When I came here I was gobsmacked by the price of a round of golf. In view of the cheap price of property and labour I thought it'd cost next to nothing for 18 holes. How wrong could I have been? It's like swimming pools and other labour intensive projects, should be cheap as chips here, but because they're considered to be a hi-so item, they charge the earth. I don't have a lot of sympathy for a lot of the businesses that are struggling which have made a fortune by overcharging in the past.

It's not expensive where I live... but by the time you pay compulsory caddie fees and almost compulsory to 'tip' them, it puts the cost up. Why, if you hire a golf cart, you still have to have a caddie, I will never know. Not that we're tight, but we share carts, so WE sit in the cart, and the caddies stand on the back. They can earn their tip...????

All this never try to take the bar out of the girl is nonsense. I have seen many, i mean many, that were eager to leave with a man like you(based on your description), nice looking, well dressed, etc and never look back.

The girlfriend of hers phoned her immediately when you showed up and she wasnt there, because Kate obviously told her friend, that wow, i really like this guy. Thats why they gave her the intel right away, your guy is here. If she wasnt into you, that would have never happened. You gotta watch the subtle signs, which they think you dont notice.
Of course, do not by any means trust her and think that oh yeah, she loves me. But you already know that. But if you like her and she clearly likes you, why not see where it goes. You just have to get clear with yourself from the beginning: you wont make fool moves! as in no money to her family, no moving to isaan, nothing goes under her name, not giving her large amounts of money, not believing everything she says and not letting her control any aspect of your life.
Here is how their brain works: if he is nice with me i am nice with him. if he gives me some money, i will be still forced to go with other guys. if he gives me more dough, then i wont have to. i can stop being a bar girl. if he leaves me, i will go back to the bar. if he cheats on me, i will take revenge. Pretty simple.
All you have to do is clearly let her know by your actions and words the next time you meet her, that you are not one of these clowns that she can take advantage of. Have fun with her, get to know her  but keep a keen eye on her. Never mind what she says. By their actions you shall know them.
And who cares if she is a slut. Every girl is, i know from experience. They just wont say it ,like these girls do. And what would you do if you were in their shoes? You either work at 7-11 and never make ends meet or use the only asset you were given and go with guys.
Its actually quite easy to see, whether she is the type of bar girl, that would leave this job behind, the moment she gets a chance or the one that has no aspirations and is totally hopeless. Watch her behaviour. How does she conduct herself? Watch the things she does for others. Is she a shrewd little thing or a pleasant one to be around? Does she do drugs? A lot of them do. If yes, run. She wont quit. Its actually so simple to read people, especially women, because they are more emotional by design. Which is easy to read.

What a great response. That's the sort of thing I would say, but you put it very well. You are how all Thai visa members should be like. You see it how it is, and not how others see only the stigma attached to bargirls.

As you say, there are ordinary girls who have to make a living, they do it for their family usually, even scared to tell their parents exactly what they do do.

We don't live in Pattaya, but when we are there, which we go down a few times a year, I find myself looking at bargirls (not all the time, and not as a bar fine ????) to see if I can spot the real girl inside. I would say about 30% are not 'career' bar girls...

The sweaty Chang vest brigade will think differently though, I would imagine.

Maybe next time offer food and drinks to her instead so the mafia gets nothing!

The only problem with that is, it's the mafia, so if she takes no money back, she will be worthless to them. she will be non-profitable, and they won't think twice about ditching her and she will be worse off than ever.

Then she will really need help.

Yeah, if one thing my MBA taught me it's that teams usually win over individuals. If you think about it WW2 was a team effort. Of course, that presumes you have some strong individuals in your team - France, Germany, GB. GB leaving will weaken the EU in so many ways. Whether it weakens GB time will tell. There's always a place for outliers. I suspect certain sectors of society will suffer terribly, others will benefit. The strongest individuals in today's world are China and the US, I can't see them joining any club soon. Anyway, I support the EU, not because I think its inherently good, but because it's a step on the way. There will need to be a lot of twisting and turning before the EU becomes truly representative of the peoples that support it. The riots in France and the referendum in GB being two examples, two different nations, same problem, two different responses.

All well and good you saying that. But the majority of people on the street don't agree with you, you are in the minority. But for some reason, dont take this to heart, but be it arrogance, or smugness, you eu supporters still think you have the moral high ground just because at the moment it is the status quo. But a hard Brexit will hit the eu and Britain's economies, yet the eu is already suffering in the southern states, so will hit eu countries more.

I am for Brexit, for the British people who voted to leave the eu by a large majority, so that should be the case no matter what others think or say. But really, it doesn't matter to me either way, because I haven't lived in the UK for many years, but still care about my country, and more so the people that live there. I like the everyday european people too, but i am disgusted with the establishments of both mainland europe, and my 'little island' Britain. None of them listen to the people anymore, they just do what THEY want, and we have to suck it up....that is not democracy in my book.  So, to sum up, it's a no deal leave on WTO rules for me, and wait for the eu to come back to us with a better deal, instead of the worst deal possible for Britain that they have offered us.

This is not an argument with you, I am just stating the case for ordinary people who are the majority (more than a minority), that voted to leave the eu... just making it clear that Leave is the default action for a no deal scenario, anything else will be screwing the majority who actually DID know what they were voting for. But in a way, we didn't know what we were voting for because now it's...

Remain, or Leave, but leave meaning to still be tied in to the eu forever without any representation.

    Agree with all that mate...

You would think that with the UK outperforming the eu as a whole, the pound would get stronger in the knowledge we are leaving. But it's even weakening against the euro, which to my mind should be getting weaker, because the eu will eventually collapse without Britain's monetary input. Unless Germany and France can prop it up themselves.

Have you seen the Gilles Jaunes in France, Holland, Germany, and Brussels, lately? Britain will be like that as well, if they don't get the Brexit they voted for.

The whole of Europe is turning against the globalist eu dictatorship. It's they who are causing outrage among their citizens, simply because the people don't want multiculturalism the same as the establishment elite. Who cart their wheelbarrows home full of cash and like Juncker, sit back with a whisky, and say "f'<# zem all!!".

Calm down you're getting very excited, you'll give yourself a cardiac arrest, what is it with thai visa people like getting angry over nothing.

You were describing it like its perfectly logical "like a car" but its not, but you can't see that, that's ok, relax

In most cars I know of, you have an accelerator and a brake... so it is like a car. You seem to be the only one that cannot understand that basic principal. I feel sorry for you.

I've just had my full annual medical, and my heart is as strong as can be, so only a small chance of a coronary. But you needn't worry about your brain exploding, it won't cause much damage.

That's odd isn't it? "Green lights start climbing, you brake, as you would in a car" who would do that in a car? Usually you brake at amber/red.

"If you are too slow (which normal braking is fine), it reaches red lights" also strange?

It's done like this in every test centre in Thailand.. don't try and make me out to be stupid.. you are are the one that cannot seem to grasp it.

I have passed both car and motorbike tests, so if you don't understand it, maybe ask one of your friends who can understand it.. I didn't design the machine, someone else did. You have to brake during the GREEN light sequence, and do it BEFORE the red lights come on, or you FAIL that test... absolutely nothing to do with driving down a highway stopping at traffic lights... Jesus.

just ignore this comment, you probably are lost on it again anyway.

    No no no....

it's the lights on the machine.

See the picture. You sit at the accelerator and brake. Now do you see the machine at the other end? Well that starts a row of green lights, and you have to brake before it gets to the red lights ... nothing to do with traffic lights in that test. But traffic lights are a different test which you wouldn't get to, because you would of already failed by the seems of it.

I suggest maybe you shouldn't try to pass your test.

Anyone fancy explaining the reaction test?

Same as in a car. You have an accelerator and a brake, when the green lights start climbing, you brake, as if you would in a car. If you are too slow (which normal braking is fine), it reaches red lights, and you try again. All the rest of the test is pretty simple really.

If you do the theory test, it's 50 multiple choice answers to highway code questions. You have to get 45 out 50 to pass. But best to google 'Thai theory test', it will give you the answers. But you must think like a Thai...thats why you should pre-read the theory test beforehand. If you have a UK driving license, you don't need to sit that bit, or the driving. But it's really easy to do.

I didn't have a bike license from the UK, so had to do all that for the bike test. If you can start a bike, and know which way to face it, you pass...5555.

Makes you wonder if one had a condition such as lousy reflexes, deafness or poor eyesight whether the medical certificate would mention that.

But wait - I'm talking about many Thai drivers.

I don't know if someone else has answered this, but you do actually take those tests at the test centre...Vision tests, color blindness test, reflex reaction tests.

Almost my feeling too but I think the client is wanting to stay there as it's an easy place to stay after buying one of those long term visas.  Just out of interest where would you suggest to stay in Asia?  I think for a person who doesn't want to stay in Europe or USA there are not so many options that allow long term visas.

I don’t know about the visas, but South Korea would be MY personal choice, if I had money to burn, like he has.

I had mosquitos, cockcroaches, jingjocks, coming into our bedroom aircon. Those big black cockcroaches would fall out onto our bed when we opened the aircon, jj’s would poke their heads out.  So I went around every joint and opening outside with silicone, and now it’s free of monsters. We dont even have mozzies in the bedroom anymore, which is a bonus. Aircons seem to be the main way in for those kind of nasty critters.
