Hello, falks, Thank you for all of your posts by now. I now understood what they are for: Part of the mega project to burry those electrical cables. And I wonder if this same thing is also taking place in other provincial towns?

Hello, Ladies and Gentlemen, How are you today? Can anyone please advise me what do these things actually do? Since last year, these steel boxes are mushrooming in the streets and back lanes in Chiang Mai. Some are large, some are small. Always on the roadside. All in milky color with the electrocution warning sign. Are they something like transformers? Please refer to the phots attached below.
