I'd like the Vaccine Passport because my Certicate has my name in Thai only and my id number. The computer system in the hospital where I had my vaccine wasn't able to enter my name in English and required a 13 digit number in the id field so weren't able to enter my passport number. Trying to avoid any problems at the airport and immigration.

I have the same problem , however they used the ID number of my Pink Card in addition my Nationality is now apparently Thai. When I suggested to my Wife that we go and get me a Thai National ID card I got the look that is reserved for my most stupid moments.

  2. I was also at BigC Hang Dong the whole procedure took about ten minutes. We arrived at 1530 and were met by an American volunteer who was translating for those who needed it, he asked if I had the much maligned Pink Card which I did.  We were told we were next and shown which desk to go to.

The Thai gentleman at the desk was polite and helpful in addition to processing my appointment (July the 1st) he also printed off the details of my wifes appointment which she had previously done using the line app last week.

There have been multiple news reports recently criticising the different approaches taken to COVID restrictions by Westminster and the devolved governments, suggesting that this was creating a confusing picture. It is weak and lazy reporting such as this which is creating confusion.

Northern Britain means the north part of Scotland, where Johnson's government has no say in COVID response. Any changes to restrictions would be devised and announced by the Scottish government, not the British government. I suspect that the author means Northern England, where Johnson has authority to mandate a response.

Possibly the confusion arose because the Times is outsourcing their journalism to India.

    My first thought.

You may  need a Myanmar visa to do it. I have received 2 message saying they are not doing border passes and requiring a visa to do the crossing. You can get a e-visa for Myanmar. https://evisa.moip.gov.mm/?fbclid=IwAR3KQUg-4C-SDTRCm-rmID65KxPNxWq8zX6aMg-D9kqfippic5JZ1NW4YBA

Joe thanks for that we didn’t go, I’m going to do an annual extension instead. I was leaving it till later in the year as it would coincide with our yearly trip to the UK, however it now seems to be the best option.
    Again thanks

Single entry Non O (Marriage) is the only one available.

I just got one at the Glasgow consulate, Kay Wishart who looks after the process accepted my documents as scans attached to an email and then sent them electronically to London.

Applied on a Monday, approval from London took two days.

Visa was issued by appointment on the Thursday.

I find the service at the Glasgow consulate is excellent, Kay also advised me to call or email before applying each time as the goalposts may have moved.

I’ll second that Kay does an excellent job

  6. I’ve a Revo 2.8G it’s 3 1/2 years old 52500 Ks. It’s been dealer serviced and I’ve never had a problem with it. I fill it up but it’s never used any oil, I find the ride ok however I seem to recall that the Fortuner rear suspension fits if you don’t like the ride. It’s 2x4 and drives ok on and of road. It’s going to be our last waggon but if I was going to replace it it would be with an other Revo.

You are both right sterling is an international currency and anyone can use it as Doug says. I disagree however Doug that the treasury controls interest rates the Central Bank does (the Bank of England) and of course it does it for the benefit of the UK because we all use the pound. The Treasury controls public spending.

The problem for Scotland apart from interest rates is, as an independent country they would have no Central Bank (all first world countries have them) with sufficient financial reserves to guarantee their debts. Creating one is difficult for a country which on independence will be close to bankruptcy. Who will loan a country, on a financial cliff edge, squillions just to guarantee debts with a possibility of Scotland defaulting on the loan.

Don't get me wrong I am not against Scottish Independence, if that's what the majority of the electorate want....in my book no problem.

The Scottish Government is in the early days of setting up an investment bank which if I remember correctly will be the basis for a central bank come independence.

I admire what he did 50 years ago, but the guy has been a lose cannon for years and off his trolley for much of it.  His behaviour pre the flight of 11 was unacceptable and it's a miracle that Neil Armstrong put up with him and didn't bump him off the flight. Gossip says that the only reason he didn't get bumped was that Jim Lovell would have taken his place and missed his own chance at command and Neil didn't want to do that to Jim.   Aldrin should keep quiet and retire gracefully, but grace has never been his strong point.  As Mike Collins said of him 'Buzz is more upset about not being the first man on the moon then he is happy that he was the second'.

    That’s as I recall it.
