  1. Please be cautious in any swimming pool, particularly older pools in Thailand.  The port (normally isolated) used to vacuum (high negative pressure) is very often located on a vertical wall on the pool. In newer pools it’s inside the skimmer receptacle (much safer).

If someone forgets to close the port after a cleaning ……swimmers can be seriously injured.  I always check this port when in an unfamiliar pool - and yes twice I have found this port operating.

When you’re born or raised in America, you’re encouraged to be or do ANYTHING you want anywhere you want. Poor guy was probably just exercising his “rights” as an American to wreak havoc and cause damage.

Well played bashing!  No big words utilized (not too surprising)……but impressive use of CAPS and “ “ marks.  Hope it felt good!

Just did the test in Nong Khai in February. Nearly fell asleep during the video. About 50 people, 40 Thai, 2 English, and a couple of others not sure what language their tests were in. Scored 49 and got a big thumbs up from staff. Results are shown at the end if you want to review. Nearly every question was covered in the video.

Staff at Nong Khai could not have been more helpful. The driver test lady spoke great English and we had a good laugh at two Thai guys doing the motorcycle test who could not stay on the raised beam in a straight line. Both fell off multiple times half way through. She was making fun of them in a nice way in English and they had no idea what she was saying. Overall not a bad day. Have had a license for about 10 years before covid, but expired for more than three years. At the end there was a small box right hand side of the screen to click on to see wrong answers. I remember as after completing test I still had time for review and you could pick which question or questions you wanted to review. I did and after rereading some questions changed my answers.

Good to learn of a better experience - thumbs up Nong Khai - and another finger for Pattaya DLT!

When I did the computer test, going back many years now, you were shown which questions you got wrong after the test along with the "correct" answer. Is that no longer the case?

Yes, your experience matches mine (from about 8 years ago)….but now they do not show which questions were incorrect …..and worse, when asked for that insight, they say NO!!

    Farcical!

Good News……just learned my staff guy FINALLY passed the car computer test……no thanks to the warm-hearted folks at the Land Transport Office!!!!!!!

  5. Well …..good to know so many neighbors seem to appreciate the darkness of the “Darkside”.

The other “dark” implication (besides safety) of these failing (relatively) new street lights is the possible/likely corruption associated with purchasing/installing lights which quickly go belly up.

  6. Hey KhunJeff

Thanks for the “Recovery Certificate” information - I will give it a shot.

For your amusement…..I contacted Bangkok Hospital Pattaya (where I have used various services for years) for help obtaining “Recovery Certificate”…..but they said unless I had been treated by them for my mild Covid infection they would NOT get any assistance from BHP.  This after being told not to come to the hospital with mild/no symptoms.  A wonderful organization…..aaargh!

  7. I am facing the same issue - having had a mild and “unreported” C infection in Thailand I may very well test positive with required ATK or PCR test. (Both tests require hospital or lab endorsement.).

Does anyone know if a “Recovery Certificate” can be obtained in Thailand?  Apparently such documents are issued in USA and Europe to aid travelers who are recovered but likely to test positive.

  8. Many have posted something along the following……..Lazada has a good return policy so what are you complaining about?  Well I am glad you are happy with the return policy but, if you notice in my post, I wanted to confirm the policy with Lazada by contacting Customer Service.  Again, I was told that I could NOT return anything based on it being a FAKE.  Thought it might be nice to share but…..

  9. Attempting to obtain a COE in the USA (fully vaccinated) I have learned (from Thai Embassy DC) that the government announcement of NO quarantine as of 1 November is NOT formalized.

They have no idea when/if this will be formalized.

Bottom line if you need a COE in sufficient time for an early November arrival - submit your ASQ booking for 7 days (and the many other required documents).

Why am I not surprised?  Could be a real + for arrival numbers.
