I'm assuming you're American. You can, BUT
No income letters from the U.S. embassy so you MUST import your pension of at least 65k baht EVERY MONTH into a Thai bank account.
The minimum for that pure income method is 65k baht a month.
Your pension is well above that at least for now.
The transfers can't go under 65k.
You can't skip any months.
Your bank book should show the codes as foreign imported money as well.
Careful the bank n transfer process u use some will show a domestic transfer not a imported transfer. I switched to bkk bank as their relationship in direct n shows as a foreign transfer with transferwise. Other banks will show a domestic transfer from example SCB from Transferwise. Kiss keep its simple stupid ????????♂️

They need to be deported just as Bali did to idiots who refused to ware a mask. They need to send the message to the privileged ones who think they are above the needs of the country. Your a guest here and as a guest you should not put the local population at risk because your need to sit in a bar n google the girls, grow the <deleted> up. People are dying daily isn’t that enough incentive to act responsibily?

FYI - I found this on the US Embassy's webpage this morning, an offer to get vaccinated along with the Aussies -
https://th.usembassy.gov/health-alert-covid-19-vaccine-opportunity-for-u-s-citizens-july-17-2021/
Location: Bangkok, Thailand
Event: COVID-19 Vaccine Opportunity for U.S. Citizens – July 17, 2021
The Thai Government has informed the U.S. Embassy that it is offering U.S. citizens in Thailand the opportunity to be vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine at 4 p.m. this Sunday July 18, 2021 at SCG Headquarters in Bang Sue area of Bangkok. (See location map here: https://goo.gl/maps/dFRM8oycooZTtQJW8).
IMPORTANT: Doses are limited. Those who are successful obtaining an appointment will be contacted. If you do not receive a return email verifying your appointment, assume all appointments have been filled.
To register please click on this link: https://bit.ly/USTHvax2021
To get an appointment, you MUST: 1) pre-register through the above link AND, 2) receive an email confirmation from the Thai government.
Do not show up at the vaccination location without the above two things, or you will be turned away.
Please Note: By filling out this form, you acknowledge that your information is going directly to the Thai Government coordinating officials, not the U.S. Embassy.
This opportunity is available in Bangkok this Sunday only. You will need to make your own travel arrangements to the vaccination site.
This is a limited opportunity offered by the Thai Government. We do not know when/if similar opportunities will arise again in the future.
Registration information is being collected by the Royal Thai Government, not the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok. The U.S. Embassy will not have access to information on the form.

The latter was probably me. I used the T/W transaction slips which were accepted. I haven't heard of anyone obtaining a letter from the bank to confirm the deposits are international. I did ask but it was not possible through Krungsri.
It may be possible if the issuing account and the receiving account are in the same bank, but I cannot confirm that.
I use uob and manager agreed to sign letter stating money transfer to military bank the transfer to uob

To all worried that you cannot use Transferwise because of the local transfers to individual and various banks. Transferwise I found uses Thai Military Bank to make transfers into Thailand from USA. If you open TW account on a computer and go to the PDF file you will see that TW shows the transfer from USA bank to TMB and in my case domestic transfer from TMB to my bank UOB.
I tried to open a TMB account directly but without a work permit they refused even with a current year retirement visa. I went back to UOB and the manager has agreed that I will print my monthly transfers showing USA to UOB via TMB. Both banks have agreed to support and write a letter to immigration verifying that each transaction originated USA and transferred as a swift transaction via TMB to My UOB account. I went to immigration showed them the PDF report of the monthly transfer and my corresponding deposit in my bank book which the said “was acceptable”. Do I believe if I have the 12 transactions needed transferring 45,000 monthly along a bank balance of 300,000b in the account for a year will meet all the criteria, time will tell. That’s my plan. I’ll account for the variations in currency by transferring the same amount monthly so there is no variation. Though not perfect I only plan to hold 300k +- to equal the the 800k annually n use the monthly transfers for expenses.
Anyone have a better idea can’t wait to hear it?

Where did you see "monthly"
Transferwise has lowest fees but not sure if the money transferred is considered an international transaction or domestic, I asked Transferwise this question.

Anyone know how the combination will work my income monthly is 55,000 so if I maintain 200k in a bank account will I need a letter from the bank or who can be contacted to get a definitive ruling on Requirements? Is Transferwise transfers considered intl. transfers based on how they transfer funds if anyone knows?

I’ve recently transferred 4 x 200,000 via dee money, money transfer to usa bank. The last one became a semi problem they ask for 3 months bank statement after multiple difficult calls the transaction completed with 3 months of bankbook transactions. With Bank of Thailand now only guarantee of 1,000,000 bhat I’m not comfortable leaving money over that amount in any Thai bank. I was here in 1997 when bhat went from 25 to 1 usd to 50 overnight. So i lost almost 25,000usd when I was forced to leave. That’s not happening again. Why is Bank ofThailand only warranting 1 million bhat? Careful when leaving money over your needs here….
