hi,
i am heading to mae sai for 6 months starting in a month. i will be working for a border charity helping burmese kids, and one of the things i will be doing is teaching them english. now, heres the thing......
i speak no thai (will start asap on the basics), and they speak no english.
they dont know the roman alphabet
they range in age from 6-16 and i will be teaching them all at the same time.
!!!
so: any advice on teaching the alphabet/absolute beginners would be great.
and any advice on phrases/language essential to me to learn would also help. i am tefl qualified, but havent actually taught since i did the course....
thanks so much in advance,
dom

hi,
i am heading up to mae sai to live for 6 months in about a month and have no idea what to expect. one of my main concerns is getting internet access where i live (im hoping to rent an appartment, and i have a laptop). i expect to pay for a phone line and connection but i was wondering.....
1. oh god so many questions.... how long will it take?
2. which is the best isp?
3. is there broadband up there?
4. can i do anything before i get there to start the process?
5. any tips/ any advice gratefully received....
so anyway thanks in advance. and if you help me out and youre in mae sai the beers on me.

hi, i am moving to mae sai in mid march for 6 months to work for a border charity. i have already visited so i know roughly what to expect, but i have a couple of questions to ask if anyone can help out:
1. accommodation. any ideas?!
2. internet access. i would like to sort this out for wherever i will be staying. any tips for what works/what doesnt, and prices?
3. things to do. having been i am aware of mae sais incomparable beauty and wild nightlife, but any info would be really useful.
4. living in thailand. any general advice for an english guy heading your way would be greatly apreciated.
thanks in advance,
dom
