You should be careful when trying to speak for other people. You shall NOT talk i.e. for ALL THESE NATIONS THAT STILL DO THE INCOME-LETTER.... We do NOT need what you are suggesting. We are just fine.
 
The ONLY people you can speak to and include is people from AUSTRALIA UK DENMARK AND USA.. NO ONE ELSE.....

The Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam will open their gates with open arms to welcome the foreign currency. Thailand has no idea how much will be lost with the mass exit of cash. Sometimes you can push away the hand that feeds you .

My retirement visa is due in October for a one year extension . I went to Laos with a friend on the way out of Laos the Thailand immigration officer in the booth gave me a stamp for a year visa .

Does this cancel out my one year renewal in October? Do I have to show proof of income and start the whole process again or the one year extension will work?

Come to Chiang Mai a much slower city and pace then you can work your way around .
A background check don't loose any sleep over it just get here and the rest will fall into place .

I agree a great blog very well said if things get out of hand in Thailand roll into Vietnam and hope for the best . I'm located in Chiang Mai life is good ATM machines on the side of the road . Where I come from they would all be stolen the same night .

I don't know what the deal is in China and Korea but they need to learn how to cross the street they would be killed in Bangkok. We should get together form some type of group or committee and present to the Thai Government a Grandfather clause for keeping the same price and regulations for the regular retired foreigners who have been in the country for a period of time .

I asked/offered in my email to them if they'd accept my pension statements or other non-employment monthly income documents as substitutes. And their response was to ignore those offers and just say I'd need to show the minimum $7000 US in the bank and meet the other general requirements in their list.
