Yes looks like we all should agree to disagree...for myself , my 2nd extension in January 2018 will be the same as this year.I have just gone through my Bank statements on my CBA NetBank and for every month so far this year I have been over the 65000baht mark , therefore I will be in the Oz Embassy in January to do my Stat Dec and if n

Sent from my SM-N920I using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

Going to be doing my first extension soon and want to use monthly income method.

Am aware now of the Aussie embassy outreach and plan to do that but...

I have a couple of questions...

Is there any special wording required for the stat dec

Do you get them at the outreach or do you have to have them with you.

How many do you need to have signed one ? two ? or original plus copy ?

I have read that they don't require heaps of bank statements or anything and that you do your stat dec and it is witnessed and that is it.

Is there anything I am missing... it seems pretty straightforward aka too easy???

I was going to pay for help but the helper couldn't answer these questions so back to trying on my own

    Most appreciative

If you can apply for a single entry Non Imm O Visa in Australia.

After entering Thailand, within the last 30 days of that 90 day entry you can apply for an extension of stay based on retirement at your local Immigration office in Nakhon Sawan.

You can obtain an income letter from the Australian Embassy in Bangkok for Immigration to meet the financial requirement of 65,000 baht per month income.

No proof of income is required by the Embassy, name your own figure

Lots of Australians who don't meet the financial requirement through their state pension, use this method.

Once you receive the extension you can purchase a multi re-entry permit (3,800 baht) which is valid for the duration of the extension.

Have been researching how to do the extension of stay without 800k baht bank account and only using the 65,000 mth income ... so relating to the INCOME LETTER from the Australian Embassy in Bangkok... I haven't found where this is ... is it a standard letter ? how can I access it?  appreciate the help

  3. Thank you for the informative and comprehensive coverage.

I read a lot of information but because of all the diff visa types I thought it best to clarify... and hope this helps others

My visa is an O-A  Multi Entry [retirement] obtained from Thai embassy in home country (Aust) valid from 10 March 2016 to 9 March 2017

I have left Thailand a couple of times to travel and each time my passport is stamped with an entry permit valid for 12 months from my (new) entry date.

All good and sounds consistent with what is talked about on the forum.

    1. Can you confirm for me that means that if I go on a trip and return some time before 9 March 2017 I will get a stamp which permits me to stay for 12 months ie 8 March 2018.

    2. Then, if I go on another trip out of Thailand within that 12 month time frame I should get a re-entry (or a multi re-entry) permit, which would allow me to return to stay up until that 8 March 2018.

    3. Then, if I want to stay on with a Retirement visa I can apply before the 8 March deadline for an extension-renewal but still need to do the re-entry (or multi re-entry) permit application if I wanted to travel outside Thailand (meeting the criteria of bank balance etc).

Is this a valid assessment of the process?

    Welcome input with thanks.
