I live in Hua Hin. I have a fixed account at Bangkok Bank. In my case BB does not have monthly statements for fixed accounts. I go on the morning of the day I am going to immigration and ask for a letter stating that my balance never dropped below 800,000 and updated passbooks on that morning also.

Make sure what ever paperwork you get has the Bank/s official stamp on it.

If you have all your paperwork correct, HH immigration takes about a hour for a extension of stay.

there is a nice lady in the rear of the the building (drive past the main building) who will make copies of everything and take your photo. She will also let you know if you are missing anything or if your paper work will pass the test.

Much obliged for this information. Thanks

Will be interested in the answers from hua hin folk.

No statements should be required. Certainly at CW would only require copy of bankbook pages and bank letter etc. You state that this is first extension of you permission of stay. You only need to show 2 months of bankbook prior to day of application.

You have your useless insurance prepared?

This will be my 5th extension of stay but the others were all done at Yasothon where no statements were required but we all know that you will seldom find 2 immigration offices with the same requirements. Have Pacific Cross insurance.

  3. The pump inlet should not be less than 2m above the base of the borehole. If the hole has been tested and there are technical details available the pump can be installed just below the water inflow depth. Sediment is seldom a problem in a borehole as the soil acts as a filter, unless there was insufficient casing installed or a section has collapsed.

Only a OA long stay visa applied for at a embassy in your country requires a medical certificate.

It is not required for any extension of stay at a immigration office. But there are few odd offices that want one when applying for an extension of stay based upon retirement.

Both Yasothon and Amnat Charoen immigration offices require a medical certificate from the local government hospital for extension of stay applications.

  5. Hi. I will shortly be submitting my first application for an extension of stay based on retirement. (non-imm O-A long stay visa) If anybody has previously done this at Amnat Charoen immigration, I would appreciate answers to the following 3 questions:

    1. Do they require a medical certificate?

    2. Must bank letter and statements be dated the same day as the application? and

    3. How many days prior to expiry of permission to stay will they accept the application?

    Thank you for any responses.

  6. Greetings. I will soon be doing my first 90 day report at Amnat Charoen. Bearing in mind the different requirements between immigration offices, could any member who has recently done a 90 day report at Amnat please confirm that my list of documents is complete. I live in Yasothon and would not like to make unnecessary trips.

    1. Passport

    2. TM47

    Signed copies of:

    3. Photo and detail page of passport.

    4. TM6 departure card

    5. Latest entry stamp

    6. O-A non imm visa

    Many Thanks

Your visa allows unlimited one year entries up to the enter before date on it which appears to be December 21st of this year.

You can get almost 2 years of total stay from your visa by getting a new one year entry just before the enter before date. After that date you will need to get a re-entry permit to keep that last entry valid if you want to travel.

Should the 2nd sentence not read: You can get almost 2 years of total stay by getting a new one year entry just before the "permission to stay until" date? Please confirm. I am unsure.

  8. Greetings. I am now in the second month of a non immigrant O-A visa. My pension is taxed in my home country and the balance transferred to my Bangkok Bank account. I also have a long term investment with them. Do I need to register as a taxpayer in Thailand? Perhaps the question should be directed to the local revenue department and not this platform, however I am certain that one of the older members will know the answer to this. The legal requirement should also be of interest to other new members and prevent any unpleasant encounters with the taxman.
