  1. Mr. MBA.

What language is the advertising in?

    Have 500 nationalities visiting Thailand

You plan on advertising in all languages? Did you even think of that? Who (what nationality are you actually marketing to?) Not everyone in the world can read English.

Please tell me one foreign tourist that travels anywhere in the world, to depend on advertising for something they need?

When perhaps they cannot even read or speak the language the advertising is in?

What exactly is a qualified MBA versus someone who has a Master's Degree of Business?

If you are looking for money, you must not be very good at being qualified at anything.

So many people here are fed up of know it all's with wrong information, go dig the garden instead of posting here !

There are 206 nationalities in the world as apposed to your post of there being 500. This is a typical post from someone again throwing facts and figures off course on Thaivisa and you question the poster about a Masters Degree ? Get your facts right before quoting (tip use Google for facts if it helps you look good) IMG_1620.PNG

  2. Well, gentleman, one thing this post has showed me is 'Those who respect the Kingdom' and those 'Who have had their fingers burnt by your own admission' Beggars belief with some members here who just sit here bitter and twisted. It matters not who has been here the longest, it's more about how positive we read your experiences from 1 year to 30 years. I do wish negative people would just keep their thoughts to themselves because newbies come here for advice and get shot down in flames [emoji91] For those who are positive thank you, for those who respect the Kingdom, Thank You. For those who are burnt, room 101 awaits you [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

  3. I've noticed over the years of attitudes and demeanours from farang. Subjects include long time visa, yellow book, pink card, driving licences etc. I never had any issue getting all the above because I kept my nose clean and respected authority in Thailand. I am surprised at the attitudes of Farang who come here with a western attitude thinking they will get what they want. Is it because all the newcomers do not respect the kingdom ? Is it a western ego ?

  4. When I came here in 2004, there were shedloads of teachers around, incl. backpackers and the time-served. Last week I was phoned by a Head who sounded desperate for 2-3 farang staff.

Also, there are condos going up everywhere, but I am told that "the Chinese will buy".

I agree about the top-end in Sukh. That is a mystical world like Hampstead in London. BUT, condos and houses in Rachada and lad Prao can now be had for 14,000 or less. I saw one deluxe place in Aree for 18,000b. Ten years ago it was 24,000b. Pattaya I don't know at all, although someone said Russians are drifting back, but not the the levels of five years ago.

The rationales are simple. The baht is 43=1 gbp. I remember it at 75. The great financial crisis of 2008 also. Westerners are changing their habits anyway. Too many alleged murders on islands, and fights... to be comfortable with. The friendliness of the Thais, also, has hardened up a bit. The freewheeling politics are no more (privately, strike me down, but I agree that enforcing the law about some things is good and overdue, if only the schisms and paranoia would reduce).

Despite TV ads and the stated aims of having 50% more visitors 'soon', I don't believe the hogwash. The best time here was to be had in the early 80s, financially and in every way, (although the Asia Crash did help later).

Thailand is now a spent force. People still come for the "name", but I would bet money that the stable farang population is dropping. I often fly into DM, and everybody in the line is mainland Chinese (so easy to hear and to spot!). Recently, I was in Hanoi: it was safe, cheap and pretty good.

  5. I'm thinking of getting a Thai debit or credit card for making small payments to the UK

If I pay say about 5 pounds using the Thai card will I just be charged an exchange rate or is there a transaction charge as well

I use my Thai debit card in Thailand and when I go to the UK I use the same card but don't get any charge but my son in Thailand has a mastercard from a UK based bank and he gets charged £4-£5 per transaction out of his pocket money. I did use a UK debit card at an ATM when we visited BKK and I got charged 400 B by the Thai ATM provider, a bad exchange rate from my own bank and an overseas charge of £1 [emoji15] but I installed the Apps and made payments and never got any charges at all, it's a mine field !!!

  6. I know - and I did point out that the example I gave was PURELY HYPOTHETICAL.

taking this "example", could members please point out the marketing options I have to target foreign tourists and the price points of the same.

    Thanks.

My personal view on this OP is what ever you did would have to be unique, as the previous reply mentioned, this is already available from multiple resources. You'd have to bring to the table something that would stand out from the crowd.
