Might be something simple like you opening the fridge every 10 mins to get a beer and the fridge has a long cooling cycle and a short defrost cycle causing ice to build up in the fridge. You go away and the fridge changes it cycle. Defrosting ice can fall on the defrost heater connections or the extra water produced can short the wiring somewhere in or under the fridge. Easy fix give up the cold beer.

I may have been a bit harsh with the beer comment but it would be worth checking the defrost heater is working on the evaporator coils.
