Is the much smaller child who contains far less heat yet managed to survive in hospital being treated for hypothermia?

Have you ever slept with a child next to you? They are like furnaces. It takes less heat to warm a smaller body. Granted it also takes less cold, to cool a smaller body in theory. But if she was well fed and healthy, there is no reason for a child to die from hypothermia at those temps. And she might have gotten warm from him too, while it lasted. He might have had preexisting conditions as well, as well as maybe alcohol in his blood. Not that weird if you think about it..

The missus booked a room in our fav hotel on Koh Samui for next weekend.

the "40% discount" discount represents a night rate 10% less than when we stayed this time last year.

I bet you the 40% "discount" is calculated from their inflated prices at peak season, and the highest priced room. It's probably technically right. Last year you had 30% "discount" compared to their highest priced room at peak season.

    classic example of stupidity in 'top thai officials';

what he does NOT address is whether the sum from all employers can qualify; there have been posts here in the past where IO, lazy,inept,racist,...only consider a single employer

Erhmmm.. That is exactly what he clarifies/addresses here. He is saying that you must have that minimum income from one employer alone. It doesn't work to add them together. At least one of them has to be equal/greater than the minimum requirement regardless of what the others are.

FWIW, Last month (July) I used an agent to change a tourist visa to a Non-O based on retirement using the ฿800,000 in the bank method.  Everything was done at Changwattana.

Contrary to what other people are saying here (and it may be different for a visa based on marriage), I WAS required to present documentation from Bangkok Bank showing that the ฿800,000 deposited in my account came from OUTSIDE Thailand.

    YMMV

Yes.. the initial 90 days non-o *visa* based on being over 50, if you get that inside Thailand, you do have to show that the 800k came from abroad. But in that case it doesn't even need to be seasoned for any amount of time. But when we are talking extensions of stay, no matter if its 800k for based on over 50, or 400k for based on marriage, there is no requirement to show the origin of the money. You do need to have the money seasoned then though.

Among a total of 40.19 million registered vehicles, 21.05 million were motorcycles, 9.71 million personal cars with less than 7 seats and 6.70 million were private pick-up trucks. The small remainder were 1.13 million trucks, 422,000 passenger cars with more than 7 seats and 163,000 buses.

So there is personal cars with less than 7 seats, and personal cars with more than 7 seats in the statistics. We have a car with exactly 7 seats, not less, not more.. Mitsubishi Xpander. Where does that fall in? Or are they out of scope?

I would guess it should have read personal cars with up to 7 seats, and personal cars with more than 7 seats?

Not sure where you live, but here in the North where I live we have great drinking water straight out of the ground and crystal clear.

Its far better than the water from the tap in Sydney for which we paid big money then had to filter to remove the chlorine to make it drinkable.

You are aware that no matter how clear the water is that is no guarantee for its safety to drink? All the really bad things like chemicals, pesticides, heavy metal's, parasites etc etc doesn't make the water any less clear..

Also if you can smell the chlorine in the water, its a sure sign that its been treated, and are probably safe to drink.

If you dont like the smell/taste, you dont need a filter. Just put it in an open container/jar/jug/glass, and let it sit in the fridge for a couple of hours. The chlorine will evaporate quickly and leave no trace. Or keep it on your countertop if you prefer your water not chilled.

"authorities would also allow the use of marijuana for traditional Thai medicine..."

If marijuana has never been used as a treatment in the past, how can it be "traditional"?

Because marijuana has been used widely in traditional thai medicine for centuries before it was banned after the "war on drugs" started.

    Look it up..

But it does mean what you grow in the privacy of your own home will no longer be detectable in your bloodstream.

Unless you believe piss tests, and the Thai medical manufacturers are better than I think they are.

Why wouldn't it be detectable? If the commercial products that is made free for medical use dont have thc in them, you will still get caught on a piss test.. no difference there. You're assuming that the legalization is for marijuana in its plant form. My point is that that is unlikely the case. But agaim.. It's pure speculation either way at this point. We will have to wait and see. *IF* its actually going to be legalized i plantform, containing thc.. Then yes, you are right.. But thats a big if.

Once it's legalized for medical use, a small visit to the doctor, and piss tests will no longer be a problem.

Right.. But my point is that even when it is legalized for medical use, it does not automatically mean in smokable form or anything that will get you high. It does not automatically mean you can buy buds in a farmacy. The more likely thing to happen is that marijuana based products will be available with a prescription. Such as cbd oil for example...

I could be wrong, and hope I am. But let's see.

    *Edit

A piss test would under those conditions still be a problem, as it is the thc content they look for in a piss test. You wony have any of that from for example cbd oil.

So you're saying that you should check that there is no idiot driving the wrong way.  When turning right, position yourself on the crown of the road and give way to ONCOMING traffic.  The car should not have been overtaking, and not so fast, and certainly not where there is a right turn (junction albeit a minor one).  Apart from the safety issue (no helmets and 3 riders), the bike was being driven correctly.

I wonder where some posters learned to drive!

Totally agree! The motorbike driver positioned herself correctly, and even indicated in good time. The car is 100% at fault. You should never overtake unless you have a clear view and can determine that noone is turning right and there is no oncoming traffic.

On that note I see lots of motorbike drivers. Mostly older drivers, but also young people, blinking right, and then go left to the shoulder and stop. Here they both block the path of other motorbikes that has to swave around into traffic with sometimes only a moments notice, and often they then make the right turn without looking back, or looking at all, so they cross the entire road from shoulder to shoulder, maximizing the risk of someone from behind, or oncoming, crashing into them.

In Isaan they like their meat, exclude fish as that is another story, sun dried and desiccated which is then cooked. The meat doesn't have to be boiled for 2 hours either. It just needs 2 hours of being cooked in tepid water for the rabies virus to be killed.

It takes 122 degrees Fahrenheit, or 50 degrees Celsius to kill. It (the rabies) will also die if the meat is completely dried out. The thing is, that when they sundrie the meat it is commonly done so in a few hours/a days time.. It does not completely dry out, and when cooking it, it goes quick. Most thais are quick cookers. So the center of the meat, especially if there are bones, will not reach the 122 degree mark for long enough to kill the virus.
