Is the much smaller child who contains far less heat yet managed to survive in hospital being treated for hypothermia?

Have you ever slept with a child next to you? They are like furnaces. It takes less heat to warm a smaller body. Granted it also takes less cold, to cool a smaller body in theory. But if she was well fed and healthy, there is no reason for a child to die from hypothermia at those temps. And she might have gotten warm from him too, while it lasted. He might have had preexisting conditions as well, as well as maybe alcohol in his blood. Not that weird if you think about it..

The missus booked a room in our fav hotel on Koh Samui for next weekend.

the "40% discount" discount represents a night rate 10% less than when we stayed this time last year.

I bet you the 40% "discount" is calculated from their inflated prices at peak season, and the highest priced room. It's probably technically right. Last year you had 30% "discount" compared to their highest priced room at peak season.

    classic example of stupidity in 'top thai officials';

what he does NOT address is whether the sum from all employers can qualify; there have been posts here in the past where IO, lazy,inept,racist,...only consider a single employer

Erhmmm.. That is exactly what he clarifies/addresses here. He is saying that you must have that minimum income from one employer alone. It doesn't work to add them together. At least one of them has to be equal/greater than the minimum requirement regardless of what the others are.

FWIW, Last month (July) I used an agent to change a tourist visa to a Non-O based on retirement using the ฿800,000 in the bank method.  Everything was done at Changwattana.

Contrary to what other people are saying here (and it may be different for a visa based on marriage), I WAS required to present documentation from Bangkok Bank showing that the ฿800,000 deposited in my account came from OUTSIDE Thailand.

    YMMV

Yes.. the initial 90 days non-o *visa* based on being over 50, if you get that inside Thailand, you do have to show that the 800k came from abroad. But in that case it doesn't even need to be seasoned for any amount of time. But when we are talking extensions of stay, no matter if its 800k for based on over 50, or 400k for based on marriage, there is no requirement to show the origin of the money. You do need to have the money seasoned then though.

Ill repeat my question, does anyone know where the air intake is on the Aerox 155. I am asking this now with the rain season coming and certain underground U turns filling with water could pose a problem. On my Nouevau 135 it was at the place where i put my feet. I know its at a different location for Waves (higher) i found that out the hard way by going through water Waves could go through only to have my engine quit on me.

So please if anyone knows let me know.

If I am not mistaking, its located in the box right above the drive belt.. The image shown is from a N-max.. But as they share engines I would think it to be the same..

So about 6 weeks and 2,000km with the Aerox now and still enjoying every moment, only a few niggles but not enough to give me any form of buyers regret.  Power socket is only rated at 2 amps so a definite no no on portable tire inflator, lack of any good secure points bungy cords or cargo straps and rear brake is weak at full actuation when properly adjusted or on/off when over adjusted.   Headlights are great compared to the Novou Elegance as is underseat storage, I just wish Yamaha had gone the extra mile (or kilometer) and provided a topbox accessory in keeping with the bikes styling as the Aerox can comfortably handle a leisurely weekend trip 2 up.

You can get the rear bracket for a top box at 320SP.com for 1.500 baht. It can be a little tricky to find on their page, but here it a link to it from another site:

I ordered one last monday, and received it wednesday with kerry express. Gave 100 baht more for shipment for a total of 1.600 baht. My wife had an old yamaha box from a mio laying around, and that fitted tye bracket just fine. But you can buy gor example a SHAD box (maybe others too?) with universal mounting kit that will fit too. They sell those on shopyamaha.com

Ha-Ha, no not much fun agreed, but I said city riding only, even got a 40lit top-box fitted.

I use a big bike for highway riding, much safer/fun, I don't like being overtaken by big buses out there which happen if scootering, no so on my Versys.

Is that on the Aerox you got that box?

If so I would love some info on where you got it.

I asked the local yamaha shop and they said they need me to provide a barcode number for them to order it.

How am I supposed to know that number..

That's the ABS on the perforated black round sensor on the brake disk, there is also a black cable coming from it that transfers the reading to the brake system. Aerox only has front ABS though, back brake is drum.... (Nmax has both front and back ABS).

If you are brave enough you can try it in a safe place, just make sure the wheel is straight and then brake hard, no need for a lot of speed.... (Note: This poster accepts no liability if you go down with your new bike.... lol)

Rainy season is almost here.. It's already raining almost daily, so should be possible to test it at a safe slippery spot. Or would it be better on dry road? I am not planning on doing it at full throttle anyway

  9. How do you know if it's a standard, R or ABS model? Is there any visible clues? I just bought one yesterday, amd I must admit i did not know there are different versions. I just tried it out and compared to a nmax, and chose the Aerox as it was most comfy and I liked the style better. Today I see this thread on the Aerox, and different versions, and now I am just curious. I know the shop said it have ABS (big hint?) but is it only the ABS model that have this? Its black/red with no remote. I just ordered a hook in the shop also.

  10. My personal experience, living in Issan, driving often between Nong Kai and Buengkan, is that most of the times, a police block will just take a glance thru the front window, see a farang driving, and wave me thru..

Sometimes I will get stopped and asked for drivers license, wich I allways have ready with a rolled down window. They just take a quick look, sometimes askes where I am going, and then hand it back and wave me thru.

Never had trouble, wether alone in the car or with the thai wife, or maybe my father and he's thai wife also.

The car is a Pajero sport, black..

In fact the only fines I have had was on motorbike. Once i drove with no helmet, on a bike with no plate and no papers (the mother in laws motorbike), and I had forgot my license and passport in home, got stopped at a checkpoint and got a 200 bath fine with a reciept, being told by the friendly officer that the reciept would work the rest of the day, so i would not get fined again for the same, should.I get stopped again.. (practically giving me a "day-pass" to drive on)

The officer seemed more focused on practicing he's english then fining me.

Second time was with the wife, on her old motorbike, both of us without helmets, and the bike had plates but no papers.. They never asked for paper or license, but gave us a combined fine of 100 bath for not wearing helmets, and a laugh that I should show my wife that i care, by having her wear a helmet ;) .. (We did not get a reciept for that one)
