  1. It was on my 6th attempt that i managed to get to the payments page that said "wait on this page it might take a few minutes" after 30 mins i rang the embassy and the young lady talked me through back to the home page and to  log back in then to click on check application status and low and behold there was my application marked fee paid and the form with the barcode .

The very first time i tried to submit my application i had the usual problems with the photo sizes , but after a short and plesant phone call to the embassy they asked me to email the photos to them and they reduced them for me and sent them back .

I have found the Embassy staff very very helpful and my advice is if you cant find something your not sure of just  , "Ring the Embassy and ask "  0207 589 2944 or 02072255500 and use extentions 5505 or 5526 .

  2. Hi  I have a really nice Honda Shadow that is in my wifes name in Ayutthaya .

Due to a heart condition i only spend around four months of the year  in Thailand and bought the bike for my 65th birthday , but now realise this was not the best thing to do , i have advertised the bike in Thai visa classified adverts , and have another Ferang who lives up in Chiang Mai that wants to buy it .

I have checked that it can be sent by mail for 3,300 thb , but not sure how to go about getting the money or the ownership exchanged as the buyer does not want to travel down to Ayutthaya , can i send the bike C.O.D. ??  with copies of my Thai wifes I.D. card and house book .

Would be very grateful for any suggestions or advice .

    thanks  GILKOUK

  3. My story  at aged 60 , 5years ago and after my 5th heart attack and with 8 stents helping my damaged heart i decided to travel to Asia while i still could just  manage just to get around on my own  .

Started in Bangkok and then went by train into Cambodia saw all the sights i could ,then into Vietnam to Saigon, Hue and Hanoi  then over to Halong Bay  and then back to Thailand and ended up in Ayutthaya , where at a small hotel i met my wife to be ,Thongsuk !!  although i spoke no Thai and she spoke no english ,something just happened and we were inseparable , two years later i married her .

My life is hard at the moment as being disabled i have very limited savings, my British  pension  and my disabled benefit .

i have to travel usually  3 times a year to stop for one or two months with the woman i love , because of my heart condition i am unable to get any type of travel or medical insurance, and cant ever see a time when i would ever be able to meet the visa requirements to be able to stop in the country and with the woman i love .

But would i change it ??  NEVER  i found more happiness in my life in the last 5 years and when i read comments of how hard it is doing visa runs , you should try what i face , with the rules from both the Thai and UK governments changing all the bloody time .

I was certainly no great catch for my wife of 49 years with no children but i support her the best i can, as most of my savings go on flights , and the hardest thing that i will have to face in the not to distant future is when i no longer will be able to travel ...what then ??.

  4. Hi  My wife is Thai and i spend around 6 months of the year with her at the moment , i have heart medical problems that are being treated here in the UK .

I would like to import my faithful old volvo s40  that is 16 years old , but still going strong , at the moment the number plate reg is worth more than the car (aprox £400 ) , would anybody have any idea if it would be feasibley possible to import the car over to Thailand.  thanks in advance for any advice   Gilkouk
