Well I have commentated on this subject before and although this not main news I do think that the public should know who these petty thieves are and name and shame them this is good for public awareness and is a deterrent for the amateur petty thief ! when you say its not mainstream news neither is football results or who has left who in some stupid TV soap or which gay guy marries a thai man or what some old fart marries a ex porn star that also is not main news either quite honestly is it ? 

I would like to see these stupid idiots prosecuted and sentenced here for their crimes and not sent home with a warning or a ban into the kingdom this would teach them a very good lesson I can assure you ! but instead they are sent back to a country that sees this as petty crime and even ignore it ! and consider it a bad habit so they carry on stealing from others hardly an example is it ? it is a very hard life here to earn a few bucks for the Thais and most thai people respect each others property and don't touch it as its bad Karma ! yes I have read the alien exclusion list of jobs and I also didn't see anything referring to chefs or cooks or food delivery ! so maybe there is a grey area there perhaps ! as this man has all the other papers correct opening licence and alcohol licence and Thai driving licence as well he does employ Thai staff as well ! but he does the cooking and prep and has done for some years immigration has not bothered him before so he must have this on his work permit ! I also had a work permit that took for ever to receive but the job description did have general manager for restaurant and did entitle me to do any job concerned with the running of the business from changing a light bulb to cooking meals for customers and serving if necessary and taking cash we had four employees that all had their social security paid and I had a limited company as well so I paid my taxes correctly and had an company accountant all above board I can assure you which did cost me a pretty penny ! I would not do this again here and I don't advise anyone to open a limited company either ! I certainly wouldn't have if I knew what I know now ! so is there any more accurate statements that I can pass on to him please reply many thanks to all of you Ian.

I am writing this as I need to know the correct legal answer for a friend who is a German national and has lived here in Thailand for more than ten years and has had several businesses in the catering field ! he presently has  a fast food & takeaway and wholesale frozen food business he has a little daughter who is from a Thai mother and he tells me that he has put the business in her name in order to get all the permissions that he needs to work and support her he has legal custody of the child as the mother neglected her he has a tough job bringing her up and building a business as single parent here so I would like to help him with the correct information legally as far as the restrictions of the work permit here in Thailand is concerned ! he tells me that he has a good lawyer who has arranged his work permit and all his legal documents to open and run his business here which is fine in my opinion he tells me that he has used the description on the work permit as general manager which entitles him to do anything concerned with his business and operation including serving customers and taking cash and cooking ! but he has recently bought a truck with a cooler and has sign written it with his logo to deliver frozen food and meals to customers also to do catering by himself ! my question is can he legally do this with his work permit or is he braking the law by taking a Thai nationals job away ? and if so what would be the consequences if caught working out of the cover of the said work permit ? he says this is totally legal because he is the farther of this tHai child and has to provide for her ! can you please help on the truth of his situation regarding the law Kind regards Ian.

Hi guys I have a question for you all lets see if you Know the answer ! I have a friend who has lived here about ten years or more he has fast food restaurant and he has a Thai daughter he is from Germany he has put his business in her name and has managed to get a work permit which states general manager on it ! he has recently purchased a truck with cooler for deliveries and had the logo of his business put on the side for all to see ! my question is can he legally make deliveries of his products and food to the general public and charge them as he is a foreigner or is he taking a Thais job away and in this case is it illegal ? 

Can someone who really knows the law inform me correctly please ? as this friend says his lawyer says that it is alright to do and its legal as he has a Thai daughter and must provide for her !!

I would like to ask you are you living here with your GF in Thailand ? as I see you are from the USA UTAH ! I would like to say that your observation is very interesting and I praise your train of thought good thinking I have looked into many prospective oppirtunities here and one of them is just what you are thinking its a good idea in my opinion and you should not be detered by doubting thomesas  there are loads that either are envious either because they don,t have the money to do it or just simply don,t have the guts ! be optermistic and do some more home work first be very careful about putting the house in her name if you are investing your own money to do these projects use a good qulified lawyer that you sellect without her nollage so as not be set up ! but if you trust her and it is mostly her money then just make a contract so all is in black and white in a lawyers office thats business follow the rules of business and all will be OK for you both in the end !

Well here is even more proof of abuse of trust and authority ! this has always been a taboo subject around the globe but quite honestly its a subject that must be addressed once and for all as this kind of behaviour is disgusting and not tolerated in our modern world and there are legal measures that are in place to deal with such criminals so why are they not implicated ? quite simple because the church themselves are corrupt and it appears above the law so it seems even today sadly !

why not set up a independent investigators to deal with abuse claims to do with clergy and church representatives if they are under suspicion of cruelty or child abuse then they must be investigated and tried in a court of law according to country of origin and while they are investigated the are not allowed any association with children or work with the church in question and all priverlidges suspended until after trial !      

when they are brought to trial and if found guilty they must be fined and defrocked and added to the child molesters/ abusers  register around the world for all to see and must serve sentence in prison for there offences upon there release from prison a probation period must be attached to them and must report and be assed periodically for a set number of years to be determined by the court judge 

I think as British law abiding expat citizens we should all do something about this disgusting miscarriage of justice ! we all know that these two young burmese are not guilty and we know who is ! so why don't we all as representatives of united kingdom send an appeal to his majesty the king of Thailand requesting the release and pardon of these two young guys and ask for the case to be re investigated properly so that the real culprits of this horrific crime are brought to justice ! I think perhaps the sons of the elder of the village should have a lie detector test and also the burmese just to show that they had nothing to do with this murder maybe a drop of sodium pentathol could do the trick !

I noticed this problem for some time and its not only in Hua Hin either this must be addressed immediately or Thailand will have an epidemic on their hands which will be very sad ! I have witnessed this in southern Europe specifically in Marbella in the south of Spain it was caused by an Egyptian Beatle that bored its way into the centre of the palm tree from the top and laid its eggs in the heart of the tree it prefers the mature tree for some reason ! and when the harvey hatch the drill and eat the centre of the palm which causes it to die from within it is not only restricted to one species of palm either so the plan oil industry will become under threat as well ! I have seen evidence here around Pattaya of this pest you will see the palm leaves fold over from the centre and dry up and die but by this time the Beatle has matured and flown to another tree to multiply so on and so forth ! this must be contained ! the infected tree must be burned as soon as it is detected and surrounding areas treated it the only way to control this pest but the longer they take to discover the cause the worse it will be !! panicking at the end is no good nor is witch doctor mentality just science money and hard labour !

I really think that you should be addressing the root of the problem as this will be the cure at the end of the day ! 

You must re educate your people who posses a driving licence by obligating them to attend a qualified driving school with experienced & qualified instructors to teach them the road signs and road disaplin basically the highway code and how to behave in bad weather conditions ! when to overtake the vehicle in front and how to do it safely ! also why you use the indicators and how to use them then test them on it and if they fail they must sit the lesson again and if they do not pass to be assed by a professional upon his or her decision the driving licence can be revoked ! this would take a lot of useless drivers off the road and reduce the danger level.

I firmly believe that the whole driving licence system needs to be addressed as well as it is atrocious at present in my opinion ! 

1.The applicant must be of a determined age 

2. the applicant must go to a government registered and approved driving school with experienced and qualified teachers not only in the classroom but also on the road practicle driving tuition to take the applicant through the various stages of driving safely on the roads and in traffic stopping distances and emergency braking how to deal with emergency situations that arise on the roads very important.

3.The implement of two exams after the instructor sees that the applicant is ready to take them the first is the classroom and the second a practice test firstly at the test centre and then after if the instructor or test officer is happy with the applicant and considers he or she is capable to be tested on a public road the instructor must have duel controls of the vehicle.

4.If the applicant then passes these tests then the applicant must drive around with a provisional licence for the first year with an L plate displayed in any vehicle that the applicant is driving so as to warn other experienced drivers the they are still learning the after the specified time has expired to be assed again at the centre for issue of the full driving licence and graduation.

5. I also think that the tonnage should be displayed on the driving licence and vehicle restrictions as well as speeding fines and traffic violations displayed X amount and the law can remove the licence.

6. The applicant must have the medical certificate tested at the driving test centre on the morning of the test by qualified medical staff.

7.All the lessons are to be paid by the applicant and a suitable test fee to be arranged by the government body to be affordable to the public this will provide funding and safety on the roads here in my opinion.

Well guys here we are again & again obviously there is something seriously wrong with the police on Koa To a Island as so many tourists seem to go missing and they are in capable of finding the culprits ! why not pass a rule that all small hostels and hotels must install CCTV cams to be able to identify the culprits easier even random street cams so at least the vehicle can be identified this would be a good start to help with safety and encourage safer tourism on the Island I think its not as if these measures are expensive now ! or quite simply boycott the island until something is done to secure safety for foreigners traveling to the Island which I quite honestly think is a better idea in my opinion ! as these incidents are not discriminate on which country the tourist comes from what do you guys think ?

Yes I am afraid I have to agree in this case a complete shambles you are quite correct in what you say ! but it doesn't help to get to the truth when the British government advise the parents to give up and take a bribe to forget the truth and let two innocent people die as compensation to avoid a international incident they just want to cover their own buts and not spend public funds insisting on correctness and a just resolve ! how can the Millers sleep at night with what they have said and agreed to knowing that these are not the guilty culprits they are in effect the same as who has implemented this horrible crime I am sorry to say by agreeing with the Thai authorities condemning these two young Burmese guys to death.
