  1. Naked and crazy seems to be trending on this news feed.
  2. Agree with your point, some people do decide to learn boundaries and respect the hard way.
  3. Your kid takes off all it clothes and starts kicking the furniture, that ends with as smacked bottom. Message sent, message received.
  4. The 60 days visa-free entry has me puzzled and an invitation for people who aren't planning to return home, or even engage in working illegally. Most people I know in Europe and the USA can't take 60 days off work in a row. 30 or 45 days max should fit most people's holiday plans. Further the that and we're talking long stay that should require a proper visa.
  5. The car has less value at police auction if the windows are broken
  6. And costing US farmers their businesses and land they've owned for generations. You need to look at where fraud and corruption is taking place in the US right now. I think you might have been distracted by the divide and conquer tactic used by your own administration. Welfare as food stamps and health care got cut down for everyone actually needing it there.
  7. Money probably went to private contractors and ICE milking is taxpayers and making farmers go bankrupt without workers. It is what it is.
  8. Doesn't matter, a lot of people cancelled going to the USA in the next 3 years.
  9. That foreigner needs to pay for any property damage he made. For entertainment value, gotta give it to the guy in the purple shirt who went all in on the action.
  10. I have been thinking they should have pursued this 10 years ago, now they shouldn't let the plans slip as another competing destination nearby snatches up the opportunity
  11. You are correct, the idiot US president's policies has weakened the American economy. It's not the Thai baht being strong, it's the USA being in a recession weakening the US dollar.
  12. You are correct, the idiot US pilicies has weakened e American economy.
  13. What's the difference between Trump and a Thai politics? The corruption in the USA out in the open visible for any one with more than a handful of brain cells. FDJT.
  14. With the connections, wealth and influence, a year in jail is better than nothing to the public. Also, being a convicted felon is a disgraceful legacy no matter how you turn it.
  15. Visiting a family member in Thai jail was like in the USA, visitors divided by one inch reinforced Panzer glass and communication through intercom system in each partition. Understandably for security reasons. Thai prisons aren't boy scout camps. Thaksin is an old man and probably can't pose any threat to anyone while incarcerated. At least he is serving a symbolic amount.of time.
  16. I never applied for a visa extension, thanks for the info 👍
  17. Yeah, but technically overstayers are breaking the law. I think Thailand has a fair system for fining accidental overstays. Longe term overstayers are often ends up working illegally or committing other crimes.
  18. Well, my financials allows a maximum stay of 4 weeks annually. The rent at home has to be paid too. I do hope to be able to repatriate to Thailand in 3-5 years.
  19. The negative attention has triggered more scrutiny, this think this may lead to a lot of people keeping a low profile...
  20. When in Bangkok or Chiang Mai the selection, abundance and affordability of food always amazes me. This does also make me think about the unsold quantities that go to waste daily.
  21. Simple addition exercise, 60 days visa-exempt entry + 30 days extension x 2 times a year = 180 days = you're technically a tax liable person residing in Thailand. Most tourists don't have more than 5 weeks holiday so 45 days visa exempt entry would suffice. Without the fairly strict immigration control Thailand would be overwhelmed by overstayers, deadbeats and criminals.
  22. This time feels different, as it seems like a reaction to the Israeli and Russian making themselves noticed and unpopular.
  23. While inconvenient, Thailand must keep misuse and exploitation in check. Foreigners will naturally try to get by with as little hassle as possible but the few bad apples makes this necessary.
  24. I kinda like tha fact that market forces are working as they should. Sellers not willing to eat a loss on their properties and just holding on to these eliminates a lot of the speculation that eventually will price out a majority/almost everyone. The article misses the fact that a lot of Thais want new built homes instead of a renovation project. Keeping the foreign condo ownership under 49% and prohibited land ownership also keep speculators from creating a property investment bubble. So I see many upsides to the current property market as well.
