Has anyone recently been asked to show proof of funds at the Nongkhai border when entering on a single entry tourist visa? Don’t really want to carry around 20k so  will a Thai bank statement be enough if asked? 

Can my employer then cancel my work permit after i cancel the extension using termination letter?  My employer thankfully have done everything by the book and Im leaving on good terms. 

Thanks for the help. Will be starting the non b process again soon after returning so didn’t want anything jeapardizing that application. 

My extension of stay based on employment ends April 30. If I have a termination letter from my employer stating this date can I cancel the extension at the border? I plan to leave the day before which is a Sunday so immigration won’t be open. My employer has already said I don’t need to work on the Monday and will cancel my work permit on or after that date.

Yes I noticed the new form when I was at immigration in Korat today. Will grab one when I go again next week for unrelated matter lol

I need to get a new passport soon as I have half a page left.  How long after receiving the new passport do I have to go to immigration and transfer the necessary stamps? The less I have to travel to my nearest immigration the better so was hoping I could just get it done when I did 90 day reporting.

Just an update, the consulate in Savanaket gave me the visa without asking for the criminal check despite having it listed on the required documents on their notice board. Lucky I guess.

I have just been informed by my employer that my application to turn my tourist visa into non b was turned down at Korat immigration and I need to apply out of the country. I have no Thai police check so unless that can be done quickly I'm looking for an embassy or consulate that hasn't been asking for this part of the documentation. At the moment I'm thinking Savannakhet. Anyone been there recently? Still have over two weeks left on my initial 60 day tourist entry.

For various reasons I need to get a tourist visa next week from Vientiane, has anyone been recently and had to show proof of funds? I was planning to show a Thai ATM slip or bank book. Don't want to carry cash if I don't need to. Thanks.

My non b visa runs out on Feb 19 but my work permit and work contract are until March 17 and March 31 respectively.  Is it possible to extend my non b until March 17 ( day work permit ends) by going to my local immigration office and paying the 1900 baht fee and complete all the paperwork I usually need for my yearly renewal. The dates don't add up because a few years back the nice gent at immigration only gave me 11 months instead of 12.
