I remind my son to wear a seat belt, but he says he is the only one wearing it.
If this school is worth its salt and you are truly concerned that your son receives a good education, then the van should have a bus monitor as well. they confirm that the kids wear their seatbelts. relying on the kids to do it themselves is foolish. of course if you ask them if they wear a seat belt they will say yes.
if this is a genuine thread, then i applaud your efforts in righting a perceived wrong. however, i would strongly suggest you get your son out of that school now. he will be an easy scapegoat for any repercussions. there are plenty of good international schools that aren't affiliated with any religion and with qualified headmasters and teachers for you to choose from. the goods ones all have extensive bus service as well.

The van driver lamented to my wife how costs are going up. He isn't using LP, but now is using gas. So do any of you really believe that even a Thai would not raise prices for anyone except the lone kid with a White father?
10 other children get no increase? Not this year, and not next year either. Do any of you really believe he recouped his costs by charging me an extra 1000b a month? That doesn't even make sense for a Thai.
Agreed it sounds ridiculous. Would be nice to use the same logic on the school next year, when tuition will likely be higher. "Oh please charge me last year's rates, as my kid is not a new student."

If you are paying tuition it is a private school - either for profit or foundation run. all schools, private and public, have to be licensed to operate in Thailand.
