A bar is not an institution where you decide what to pay for a drink, the bar does.

You don't like this, well don't go to a bar.

Drinking in a bar cost money, a lot.

You start drinking in a bar and then complain about the prices, the nerve.

As an old saylor, been sailing the high seas for about 45 years, I have seen and been in a lot of bars all over the world and most of them make up prices on the go.

You make trouble in a bar, you get what's coming to you.

Pay every drink  like they do in the U.S.A., the best system I ever encountered.

Police in most countries will only come if there is a disturbance, like fights, and not for inning the bar bill for the bar or to sort out payment for bar bills, this is the responsibility of the bar not the police.

We still paid the bill. We didn't feel it was fair to pay for what we didn't have. Overpriced bar, no matter what you say. Quite a bit more overpriced than anywhere else on that road. It wasn't a nightclub, go-go bar, expensive restaurant or hotel. Would you buy off a street vendor and expect to pay a restaurant price.......

meh, he said/ she said. Dont run a tab at a dodgy bar.

All over a supposed overcharge. This article reads like someone trying to squirm their way out of a problem.

600 baht for 4 drinks is high, but not 'this bar is absolutely scamming me' high.

    Bad as each other

So you think 350bht for a vodka and tonic is an average price for a street bar with no entertainment is okay. Also 70bht for a coke is okay as well......Let me see.

Of course, there are many variations of how the 7Eleven topic arose. The problem is that all the haters on this thread are assuming the worst possible variation... and assuming that variation, they're suggesting that the victim is an idiot who deserved what he got.

Did you notice how he took the bashing without any physical retaliation? His wife and friends too. That indicates to me he knows how to behave in Thailand and he's not the person so many on here are portraying.

Thank you for your support . I have posted again explaining what lead up to this incident. It is post 362. Once people have read this maybe they will understand what really happened.

Well, he probably did say he could get the drinks cheaper, but the article title is misleading.  They were attacked because they left without paying.  Of course the bargirl should not have attacked them, but the guy was a nit.  I wonder how big the bill was and did he really never look at the bin each time a round of drinks came by and take a quick glance at the prices?

Please read my post below yours. It will explain a lot

  5. Let me put this straight to all of you. I am now known as 'the woman in the white dress'. We had 1 drink only in that bar as I cheked the bin as soon as it was put on the table. She charged us 350bht for a vodka and tonic .For a drink in an ordinary street bar that is outrageous. Our other drinks were also well overpriced. We had words with her over the bill, PAID IT IN FULL and went to leave. She then produced another pot with a bin in it( not the pot on our table) and wanted more money. We refused to pay more as seeing her prices on the 1st bin there wasn't any way we would order more. She lost it when I said I wanted tourist police at the bar. The 711 story is a load of nonsense. The only comment made about anything like that was I live here I know what things cost. To charge 70bht in a small bar for a coke or tonic is well out of order. As if anyone with half a brain expects to pay convenience store price in a joke. We are happy with the help we are getting from the Thai police. My partner didn't even want to report it. It was me that made him go there. This crazy behaviour cannot be allowed in Thailand. I have many Thai friends and they are disgusted by this incident. She needed reporting, as I wouldn't like to see her get away with it again. Next time, it could leave someone with a permanent injury or worse. For those people who have given us your support we want to say 'thank you'.

the bar girls story is a complete fabrication.  I know because I am the girl in the white dress involved in the incident.  We aere charged extortionate prices for the drinks much more expensive than any where else on the road. It was only an ordinary bar not a go go bar and the prices were shocking.  We paid the bill in full and they then wanted to charge us more money for drinks we never had.  We had one drink each in there and that woman has brought shame on Thailand for her despicable actions and violent behaviour  I went to go to Tourist police and didnt get the chance but as soon as I mentioned police she got violent. and anyone who believes her side of the story need their head examined.  We are not tourists we have lived here in Hua Hin for 11 years we have always aid our bills whereever we have gone and have never rceived treatment like this in any br before. I just hope that when she goes to court she gets her just deserts as people should not be ribbed off in this manner
