It is 6 months based upon the calendar. The last day of the 6 months before would be July 28.

Are you asking about entry to the country or to apply for a visa.

For entry to the country it depends upon your nationality. Some countries only  need a passport valid for their length of stay.

i had the same with a  Dutch pasport only valid for 6 weeks

you can enter by plane  and get 30 days

but you need to leave the country before it expires

also u will not get any extension

for visa 90 days you need a minimum of 6 months

  2. had exactly the same trouble last year

do not try to get any visa in any thai embassy

    they will not give u

only thing you can do is fly out the country and fly back in

u will have 30 days wich u can extend another 15 at immigration(1900 bht)

by that time u need to aplie and get a new pasport

and apply for the visa u prefere

note: i flew to KL tried to get visa thai there was refused and on the airpost some dumbo ripped my flight ticket in 2

after getting her supervisor ( he knew i could fly back with less than 6 months on my passport) i was allowed to fly back to bangkok

went directly to my embassy(dutch) and had my new pasport before the 30 days expired

In a similar recent thread, Savannakhet or Penang seemed a better alternative.

Still need financial proof, 800,000 in Thai bank, Income letter from your Embassy (65,000 PM) or a combination of the two, but no medical or police clearance required.

why all this trouble of traveling pay a few extra bath to an visa assist office and stay at home the bankbook with the 800 k is sufficient been there, done this, easy as pie.

why go to this ugly city  vientiane

traveling , hotel, visa laos  some drinks food same cost and lose 2 or 3 days of ur live 555

on Monday and Thursday around 500, Monday or Tuesday around 300, Friday around 100.

The numbers on applicants are not related to low or high season. It has more to do with the grand total of people applying for various visa at the Vientiane Embassy, means the number dropped.

One major recent change in the procedure is that nowadays everyone has to pick up passport by themselves.

i also can confirm i never have seen a number over 400

Ideally, the bride's parents should give their daughter a dowry of minimum 400k Baht with the condition that she put it in a fixed deposit account in her husband's name, for him to meet immigration's financial requirements for the one-year extensions of stay.

difficult to find parents with bahts!!! you might find some with whiskey?

  6. maybe so but if he  is looking to avoid red stamps, i think vientiane is super easy

bring your papers in the morning, get drunk and pick them up the next night

i did this with my old passport that must have contained more than 8 different visa from thailand

between all the other visa  from afrika china taiwan amerika en so on

i think to lazy to check anything overthere

Virtually no Farang goes to the embassy in person.I was once called to the embassy for an interview:There was not a single other Farang in the office,, only Africans and Asians.

Going through an agent you won't need any documentation, just passport and a photo, they even fill out and sign the application form for you.

Even with more than 3 TV in your passport you still have a fair chance of getting another one in PP without the red warning stamp, while in Vientiane you will probably get the warning.

i did 4 tourist visa in a row in vientiane no problem at all it was the easiest way

    The answer is NONE.

    Everywhere in Thailand is quiet.

I went through Immigration at Suvarmnaphum and NO ONE in front of me.

    That was in March.

    Don't listen to the TAT.

They come up with these AMAZING figures of tourism numbers in Thailand.

    do not know about TAT

but my chiangmai guesthouse is mostly fully booked, and since the rain in the south i think Cm tourisme went really booming

never a dull moment here, i wish i had more rooms

but spending patron  is different from other years

    to many 7 eleven mongers

for bars and restaurants it may be a bit less

because of too many long term stingy travellers

Try travelling all over Thailand not just main areas.

I have over the last 14 years,  all bar the far south , now live in a non tourist town , north east and what I stated refers to all of Thailand

i think u discribe the situation perfectly, many things to anoy the farang but still better than europe climate and taxwise

to many locusts coming from everywhere , eating all bringing nothing

  10. money needs to be there about 60 days

but also possible to loan the money pay interest ( 60 days)and get a year visa

no need for big amount of sleeping useless money

total costs for visa 1 year about 27000

4 visa runs tourist will be about the same costs( transport, stay ,food +drink, and  visa costs  3000 per 90 daysx 4 )

pay 1000 extra  and u need not to go to the ****** immigration anywhere for 1 year

    sabai sabai
