I opened an account with Kasikorn in Pattaya whilst here on a 60 day tourist visa. Was only asked to show my passport with the visa. Was Given an ATM card immediately (510 baht per year). I still have and use that account. I am here permanently now on a family visa but have never had a problem with Kasikorn bank.

mamboze, if you require any further information or advice i would suggest you seek it elsewhere as nobody seems to be able to agree about anything here, and are more interested in argument than assistance.

I am from the U.K. I have been resident in Thailand for the last 10 months, staying here on a family visa as my wife is Thai. Because i am staying here on a family visa, is it possible for me to obtain a work visa and if so, (a) are they easy to get (b) how would i apply.
I'd appreciate any advice, thanks in advance
