It would have been good if they had remembered that they have a seat belt law as well, which also came in around the same time and also hasn't been enforced. I wonder how many lives have been lost in the interim from that?

Thailand roads are full of tossers.

5 likes and above per post is not uncommon. Thaiwrath has nearly 8,500 from 1870 posts, Z42 scores well over 6 on about 1,300 and darksidedog has nearly 15,000 from just over 2,500.

He said a spouse should end an argument the moment he or she realises they’ve become angry.
That will cut arguments down to about three seconds then if this advice is dutifully followed.

The depths to which some people will sink is unbelievable. So many crimes are treated leniently, but this one deserves a very hefty jail sentence for all concerned and the hottest spot in hell for the thereafter. Utter scum.

I think the whole thing got blown totally out of proportion, so them being released and going on their way is the right course of action. People committing violence get away much lighter.

Thanks guys, but I am pretty busy at the moment and I am not available for the later hours (prime time) I get up pretty early these days. But here’s what I will do. I will try to establish this year’s format, and compile a few ongoing results. But I am expecting Scott or other mods will continue to oversee the action and be the adjudicators.
Here is the list as I see it so far. I have kept in the names of those who have asked to bow out. If it is an issue bring it up with the mods. We wouldn’t want to expose any MI6 agents by giving them some unwanted exposure in the press.
My name is also on the list, but I would like to opt out for the sake of neutrality.

25 AllanBPerhaps we let these nominations run until Tuesday night, the 12th. And then we need to have a runoff to pare the list down to say 6 victims. The runoff will be comprised of two lists (split from the original because of software limitations on polls) so the top three from each list should give a reasonably fair representation of the front runners. Unless the fourth place winner from either list is higher than the first place in the other list. In that case that person will be added as a wild card 7th entry.
In case of a tie for third place on the runoff lists, both will be removed, unless of course they qualify for the wild card. In this case they will both be added to the final ballot as wild cards (fantastically unlikely though).
The runoff should end by Sunday the 17th and we can start the final ballot on the morning of Monday the 18th. I think the final ballot should close on the evening of the 23rd , considering that we don’t want this important poll to cause people to miss Christmas.
These are all just ideas, obviously the moderators will need to approve.
Given his condition, but the constantly accurate and humourous posts, you could just give it to colinneil right now.

"It was state's responsibility to punish a blasphemer, no two opinions, but when state doesn't do its job and someone does kill, he shouldn't be punished as a murderer," Amini said, referring to the 57 people who face trial over Mashal Khan's death.
Hopefully the Government won't cave in to the lunatics and find the whole mob who murdered Mashal Khan guilty and hang the lot. Failure to do so will leave the mob feeling that they are free to murder anyone they please who happens to question their totally pathetic beliefs.

The way I see it is that Thais view road rules as something more akin to guidelines and simply have no understanding of the consequences of driving crazy or driving drunk.
Perhaps when the courts start to dish out 100 hours community service to drunk or dangerous drivers, working in the local mortuary, they will get a chance to truly see the results of their actions, and then you just might start to get through to one or two of them.

I don't believe you will be allowed entry to Laos when you have had an overstay in Thailand. I have had a couple of friends denied boarding at Suvarnabhumi to Laos for precisely that reason. I don't know if the land border is more tolerant, but I would recommend double checking before you go there.

You should visit a specialised remedial therapist. The only one I know of is Nigel Kelsey in Pattaya, who is absolutely brilliant. My dad had the same thing and he spent a fortune trying everything. One visit to Nigel fixed it 80% and the second solved it completely. From someone who couldn't move his shoulders without pain, he is now playing badminton again. I will message you his details.

Just go find him like any serious police force would, and arrest him if he refuses to come in for an interview.
Totally! The whole police force is a sick joke. Please come to the station so we can give you a kicking in interrogation and then throw you in jail, wont appeal to the masses. Any wonder most of them do a runner until the statute of limitations is over. Go and arrest the sons of bitches before they know you are coming and they wont be free for the next 20 years to keep committing the same crimes.

20% tax for a pack of cigarette that is being sold below 60 baht and 40% tax for above.
This new taxation aims to lower the gap of low-priced cigarette and high-priced cigarette.
And how exactly does it do that? 20% on a 50 baht pack is an extra 10 baht. 40% on a 130 Baht pack is an extra 52 Baht. That widens the gap. A lot! I sometimes wonder if anyone in this country has the first clue about maths and economics, and they continually come up with utter crap to justify stupid decisions that have no logical basis whatsoever! Amazing Thailand!

30 Baht increase on a pack of cigarettes and 37 Baht on a beer?????
Are they <deleted> crazy?
I thought my dad was nuts when he bought 36 cases of beer today, but clearly he was not.

Glad to see this being done. Thailand is NOT politically correct! Being PC is the biggest problem to stopping this. Have you ever been to the Nana area? Target the problem makers and forget being PC. Have a clue! ...Racist? lmfao.
You are glad to see colored people being rounded up indiscriminately? When I read the story it said there was nothing incriminating found with the two fellas. I don't dispute there is trouble in the area, but that shouldn't give license to just kicking in the door of anyone in that part of town just because they are black. Targeting trouble makers is all very well, but targeting any random black person just because they are black is not.

Surachet Hakpan - chief of 191 - said that the raids were targeting colored gangs causing trouble in Thailand.
But with at least the two named individuals, thus far, he has not been able to provide a single shred of actual evidence of wrongdoing to back that statement up.

Been talking to my close confidantes and the results are:
Thais: Get the F--- out now (as in tonight!) before vigilante group of 500 angry people comes to your door. They claim other Thais would indeed go rogue and cause a stampede without giving it a second thought. No vigilante will ever be charged with violence. Police vs. Angry Royalist. Forget it.
Falangs: Lawyer up. Make complaint. File papers. Get papers date stamped. Get police to work with you.
Do what the Farang are telling you to do before the Thais start doing what the Thais are telling you will happen.

He's right in the midst of other present-day crappy leaders: Duterte, Trump, and Maduro. When they were kids, they must have skipped Sunday School, the day 'basic human decency' was taught.
All of them probably were out in the yard pulling legs off spiders or some other deviancy.

They're just trying to cut out the competition. I hope the Taxi drivers and Hotel staff ask for a slice of the pie in return.

What is required is a person with integrity, honesty, intelligence, a cool head and who is capable of making decisions and choosing policies that are not based on face or helping corrupt folk financially rape the country. In short they are going to have to issue whoever that person is, with a work permit.

I recall a few weeks back when an Australian fell to his death and the operators were charged with causing death by recklessness. Clearly those still operating don't seem to have got the message, because this was totally idiotic. In many countries Social Services would step in and quite rightly take the child away from such foolhardy parents too.

Good luck to her in being acquitted and filing charges against the cops. Whole thing was lunacy from the start.
