  1. Are these cocks territorial? I know a lot of cocks aren’t. APART from that, here one will start then there seems to be about 5 around the area that repeat  one after the other.  After a few rounds they stop then one of the others starts up and they go around again. Stop, another starts and so it goes.  I haven’t checked our friend Mr Google and before you ask, I live in a small village in the NE, I have time so leave me alone.

  2. I remember being told about this and being shown the the small signs saying so, not only on the fridges but at the cashier as well. I don't know if anyone else read the fine print on those little signs but it did say you could buy 10 litres or more during those hours. Forget the six pack or bottle of wine, they were absolutely forbidden but buying 10 litres was OK.

Anyone else read it or was I sober at the time?

(Serious question as to anyone else reading or knowing about it)

When the baby was born Tommy goes to school and announces the fact to the class. The teacher asks "did the baby come by stork?" "No." says Tommy "my sister said it came from a <deleted> on the Isle of Wight."

  4. Just a thought on putting a pump at the meter. If your water pressure is that low there may not be enough for the pump to pump. The pump may well cavitate with the lack of water and destroy itself.  My experience is that pumps need head pressure to pump and only stop when the lines are full, open a tap, pressure is released and they start again until you close the tap and the pressure is again built up or they keep going if they run out of water to pump.

Unfortunately I think your best option is to have the tanks cleaned out and filled with water and I cannot help you with either.

The base of my tanks are 2 metres directly above the pump but I have good pressure, until mid April when we all run short of water for a week or so, to fill them.

  5. I often wondered how people could wash their passport until I achieved that status. I thought I had totally destroyed my passport, took days to dry it out. On conferring with the Australian embassy they told me to send a copy of the bio page and they would determine if the passport was in fact destroyed. They got back to me and said they can still read my details so the passport was fine. All I needed to do was to apply on line to renew my passport as you can renew a passport at anytime before it's expiry. That saved a lot of hassle I can tell you. I collected my new passport from the embassy then headed off to my local immigration, with a copy of my old (prewashed) passport and they re did the retirement extension, reentry and transfer stamps all rather painless apart from my very red face. I used my old washed passport when I flew to Bangkok to get my new one so as pale as the bio page was it was still OK to be used.
