Anuntin has much to explain why he ignored the people he was elected to represent, in favor of commitments to a lab with no history of vaccine production, and owned by the royal family.....:-(

Another story to distract from the failing AstraZeneca rollout... its looking like the biggest fail of this new so called democracy.

Still no agreement with Pfizer so these words are useless. Actually worse than useless as they are confusing.
More details by dep-govt spokesperson

will deliver their #COVID19 vaccine “in Q4/21” (Anutin said “Q3 or Q4”) and they’ll only seek authorization with
@fdathai
once a deal has been reached and will talk only with the govt, private sector later. He needs to keep quiet until he has some real news.
He just babbles to put off criticism until Astra zeneca from the royals start producing.... likely the 3rd quarter. I'm afraid thailand is destined to be one of the last to tackle this pandemic. This would be due to one man's betrayal of his role in government to trident the best interests of the people and not himself and his royal alliances

Boris Johnson, known as U-turn Man, does change his mind within days, rather then hours.
if the general was running the real military war, his tactic would confuse his opponents and gave him victory.
Now, nobody will listen to any official announcements and follow them.
Look's like the government is an panicky mode, just random, contradicting decisions.
The PM had the final say. His ministers are all jockeying for attention and possibly his position. He straightened it out. All governments have dissension in their ranks. Get over it.

Just where will this additional money come from for the workers and then of course the employers who will now loose production days which will only increase prices of goods or commodities in order to make up for the lost time as well as a reduction in goods and services. Does this Government understand that more time off gives the workers less money to spend, or if they are to be compensated then the employer looses money. How is this good for the economy, or domestic tourism. It will undoubtedly be an issue of running up credit cards and more borrowing by people to take the time off from work. Not seeing this as a good thing. If this is important to them then just make a 4/10 work week. 4 days worked/10 hours each day with a 3 day weekend every week, as well as the Government increasing the wages it pays. May nt be good for folks needing to obtain services but isn't that the same as adding more holidays to stimulate tourism.
You'r looking at it too closely. This is short term, low cost benefit for the Thais to use their expendable income and help support the failing tourist industry. There is a lot of wealth in bangkok and getting them to spread it around is a win win. Imo.
Please don't respond with economics lesson 101....????

I don't agree. Many long term visa holders want to return.. Many, sms...i want to leave knowing they can return, particularly property owners, and family men.

Then they’d be clear to roam around the island for their third week. After 3 weeks on the island the visitors would be free to travel to other parts of Thailand.
how are they going to know which tourists are which? which tourists have been in thailand for more than 3 weeks? which foreigners are tourists and which foreigners are long term residents, retirees, employees? will they have police checks all over the country continually stopping and checking foreigners? it's a mad plan.
Not sure I understand your question. It is assumed that after 3weeks confined on an island not to mention the 72hr clean health bill before departure to thailand, that said tourist would be covid free like every other expat living here. Why would they need to be harassed with more testing????. Based on the science 24 days negative is outside the incubation life of the virus, as I understand

Foreign tourism is necessary to boost the economy. What's tthe point if most of the money is going elsewhere?
Foreign tourism means chinese tourism. They'll believe Chinas lying numbers, and they'll be the only ones to qualify without quarentine

you only need to do a 90 day report before Aug 31st
and that is only if you have not done your usual report by now (during the amnesty)
you are not on amnesty apart from 90 day reports
so next action would be to do yearly extension as usual
(now i see why you are bitter at those who stay on ME marriage visa's) ????Well that is not what it says, its what you think it says. Which isn't helpful. The long term description uses the conjunction "and" , which in essence means all long term visa holders needing and not needing an extension must extend by Sept 26. Of course that means a separate trip to immigration with thai translator because: a) immigration didnt clarify their clarification correctly b) TV didn't translate correctly.

Personally I think Prayut has done a decent job considering the challenge. Unlike many of the self imposed authorities who expect a country's institutional corruption to turn around in 5 years, I feel he had started to make a small difference. Now that the election has reintroduced the politicians this will likely be reversed. In the meantime this country remains one of the safest in the world. Far from perfect, but safer than most. Imo

Interesting to me that seemingly every day they pick up new cases from returnees from all over but little ole Thailand hasn’t had any cases in 2 months.
Thailand should do widespread local testing, as well as antibody testing and report it.
What would be the purpose? ICU bed count is what is important imo
In two months that has almost zeroed out. Now focus on the outside contageins, and keep them quarantined. Nothing changes until better treatment or vaccine.????

Serious? She's obviously a nominee of a company and signed off on being a/ the managing director. She is likely being held responsible for corporate tax if the company.. i'm guesting a foreigner or unscrupulous individual seduced her in becoming a nominee and director for a few baht. Just a likely thought.

They have probably found that the other countries were not going to accept the ludicrous conditions that were going to be imposed for the bubble trips. Now there has to be an excuse.
If you look at the worldometers. There has not been any significant rise in cases in China or South Korea, Japan has increased a bit in the last week.
Really?

Not clinically proven, so why purchase now?
400,000 tablets requiring 70 tablets per person treated - comes to less than a total of 5,600 people who can be treated. Seems a bit short on stockpile for the nation.
Considering the first wave was barely 3000. Imo, it sounds about right.

As Chairman of CP, all he is interested in, is making more money for CP, nothing else.
That's a pedestrian comment, with no value.
He is providing some ideas, that the government and bureaucrats are ill equipped to conceive or implement.
Twice valid comments of transforming quantity to quality tourists, have made good sense. Downsize and upgrade...
Good idea about 30yr bonds, and soft loans.
Easy to critisize, but if you'r not open to listen to someone who understands by experience vs theory then you should move aside, or just move????
