With the death of zxcv the high quality torrents of the BBC Proms are lost to us
Well fortunately that is not true
They can be found at a new location
PM me for details
-
The problem with Torrentz.eu is that it is search engine
so only of use if you know what you are looking for........................
With a private tracker I can see what is the latest being posted
then select what I want to download
Rather a different approach

The Box as was is about to close again,
pressured by the dark forces.
For many expats, torrents are the only way to get decent, up to date TV shows
Streaming is not an option for us all.
To the Dark Forces
Instead of fighting the technology, why not embrace it and set up your own torrent site??
We already pay exorbitant fees for satellite services that provide very little in the
way of decent TV. Those fund could be going to the TV companies direct with very little
computing power needed. The file sharers provide the cpu cycles and storage,
You just charge a small fee for the access to the tracker, possibly with credit for seeding,
much in the way current Torrent sites work
Think positively and see it a Business Opportunity

As one poster says, Thai visitors to the EU have to show insurance
as part of the visa application process.
Malaysia requires health insurance for their MM2H programme.
The catch being that local firms will not insure people over 60
so you have to get a waiver............ -
The trouble is the rules have changed since then.
There are now much stricter checks, following the Starbucks tax fiddles
See the link to the new rules in my OP

I have been Non Resident and Not Ordinarily Resident in the UK for many years.
With the declining health of my mother I am visiting more often now,
spending between 80 and 120 days in the UK per year.
I have a flat over there, but it is rented out and during my visits I stay
at my mother's flat or with friends
I am trying to make sense of the new Statutory Residence Test
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/budget-updates/11dec12/stat-res-test-note.pdf
and how this will affect my status
Can anyone throw any light on the situation?
BTW the rent on my flat, after expenses, comes within my personal tax allowance
Thanks

Just caught up with the torrent of this programm from TVChaos.
It paints a biased picture of LOS, concentrating on drunked/drugged idiots
getting into trouble, generally of their own making
The description on TVC talks about The Formidable Thai Police.
What a joke!!
The guy Howard in Pattaya, plays the big lad, but cannot even understand
basic Thai when he is told that a tourist urinated on a baht bus............
The makers did not research very well.
They cannot even pronounce the place names properly
where is Fooket??
-
Arrested or not, the web site is still up
-
Firstly your questions are not valid for all.
I first visited LOS in 1983 and fell in love with the place,
by 1985 I was back and stayed for 20 years
However as I got older the continual heat was wearing me down.
I now live in a pleasant mediterranean country, with a much more
amenable climate, four real season.
Liife here is no more expensive that LOS. The money I need in the
bank for my yearly residence permit earns me 6.5% at the bank which just about
covers my rent of a 2 bed apartment over looking the sea.
Go back to the UK, not bloody likely, I would be bored to death and have no friends there.

Find the right girlfriend and it could be gone within a month.

Does anyone use their real name on the internet??
Very foolish, IMHO
-
Surely children in their first year of school, need that all important text book
and pencil so they can learn to write................?
Tablets can come later once the basic skills have been acquired
Putting the cart before the horse, IMHO

I found it interesting to see the way the estimate changed as I answered the questions.
-
This is a calculator that estimates your life expectancy. It's pretty cool.
It was developed by Northwestern Mutual Life.
It's interesting that there are only 13 questions.
Yet, they can predict how long you're likely to live.
http://media.nmfn.com/tnetwork/lifespan
According to this I am set for 89!!

Yes that did the job and quite quickly too.
-
Resorting to Google for other alternatives I came up with
Popcorn MKV Audioconverter and I am running the file through there.
Will report back later.
-
Thanks for the suggestions, but still no progress.
The Format Factory settings look good, but the programme does not cope,
hanging at 89% every time
I downloaded the Avidemux as suggested but neither the 64bit or 32bit versions will run under Win 7
The programme installs OK, but nothing happens when I click to run the programme.
Very odd indeed.
I have checked with the task manager CTRL+ALT+DELETE but no process is started
-
I am not watching, I promise.................

I have a file in .mkv format
I want to run it through Format Factory, leaving the video unchanged
just changing the Audio from DTS to AAC
The Audio settings are easy, but what to specify for the Video to leave it unchanged?
Thanks in advance

When the Pattaya Racing Circuit was built over 20 years ago, it was planned to hold international races there.
That never happened as the Customs Dept could not agree to a system to import and export
the cars from overseas.
Unless that basic hurdle has been overcome it is all a pipe dream.

B4million may be a lot of money to a poor Thai
but only small change to the bank...............
-
Possibly the end of the source of UK TV programmes for expats
Not going to have any affect on expats whatsoever.
Not so.
Who is going to record and seed the UK programmes, if they face disconnection??
-
I assume the fire exits were locked (chained?) as per normal Thai practice,
for security, of course.
