I don't know whether this was already posted - certainly interesting trend, if month to month can be labeled as 'trend':

Tesla (Elon) seem pretty confident...

I think it has more to do with fear of retaliation. Same for the German car companies, they are adamant not to introduce tariffs as their main business is in China. Conversely, the French would love to have tariffs in Europe as they would be able to kill to birds with one stone - damage the German's business in China, and protect their fledgling EV business in Europe.

As long as commentators in the west preface with 'if Putin wins', they disclose how much they still believe in their own delusional propaganda. There are only two possible scenarios - Russia wins and this will come to a 'reasonable' conclusion, or we are are all fokked because nobody will survive WW lll. People that don't understand that simple fact should not participate in this conversation........

Well my pins are the same as yours:
But the mats underneath have the locking part :So your mats appear to be the problem.
Thank you! I sent my sales lady your video, not holding my breath that anything will come out of it, but I am open to be dazzled.
While it is true that I got one of the earliest cars, as I said above, all the floor mats on the cars they have in their showroom are the same as mine - and some of the Atto's (if not all) she pointed out were 2024 new models.
I already caved in and ordered a set of mats on Shopee, keeping my fingers crossed that the retaining pins will 'click' into place.

Thank you very much - this is very different from the floor mat I have. I wonder whether the floor mats are sourced locally, even on the dealer level, and my dealer just mucked this little detail up in the most glorious way.

That is surprising, as i said before mine fit fine, if only i could stop the little lady’s side from sliding forwards. So your drivers side floor mat hooks onto the pins and 'clicks'....?

Couple of questions:
1. Do the retaining holes of the driver side floor mat fit and clip into place? in my case, the floor mat holes are too small and cant clip into the pins, so the mat constantly moves.
2. Do your cars make a 'farting noise' around 150km/h? I read this in a few forums on FB, so it seems to be pretty common. Cant believe in this day and age this could happen, although one guess is that the airflow is so maxed out to get to the cd 0.219, it probably takes next to nothing to lose the optimized air flow somewhere....... my guess is the leading edge of the roof glass.
3. Do you follow the charging instructions per manual? always to 100%? and 10 to 100% every couple months? Because I charge from solar, I prefer to charge just for a few hours every day, but maybe that is not ideal.........
Floor mat saga continues: I finally got around to visit the dealer to check on my driver's side floor mat holes not fitting (not snapping into the plastic retaining pins). I went through cars in their showroom, one Seal and several Atto 3s - they all had the exact same problem: The holes in the carpet did not snap into the plastic pins, the holes are too small or the pins too fat. I checked some demo cars, all had the same problem. A tech was told to check my complaint, he was surprised by my problem (as in what is wrong with me!) of course could not fix it, shrugged his shoulders, and for him this problem was solved...... gawd I love these kind of staff!
Apart from realizing this is a mind blowing FUBAR, as it seems to me all BYD cars delivered to Thailand are afflicted with this fitment problem - it is a safety issue! I am just waiting for the first fatal crash stemming from a carpet blocking the brake pedal and a pedestrian or motorcycle driver getting killed........
Does BYD scan these boards? BYD was the 9th largest car producer in 2023, time to step up to the plate to play like the big boy...........that probably starts with denial that they have floor mats in their cars 🤪

My app looks nothing like that, is it TerraConfig you are using?
Terra Config is just used to install and configure 'ChargerSync' - which is the app I use for the ABB charger.

My switchable 10, 16, 24, 32 amp EV Charger was dead this morning.
I spent a couple of hours installing the ABB one the Seal came with, quite impressed with it's flexibility, but a PITA to switch charging currents.
I sit in my office and move a slider on the app to change the charging current...... you must have hemorrhoids? 😂🤣

I have an Atto....a vehicle position selection does not appear on my BYD app. For Android the app was just updated to ver 2.0.8 on 9 May 2024 which is the version on my phone.
Is the screenshot of that Dolphin owner based in Thailand? Maybe, repeat maybe, the vehicle position selection is for Dolphins in other countries...it may not be model related at all....but country location related.
It was posted on a Thai EV group:

My app version is still 2.0.6

A Seal SUV in all but name, should fit in nicely here for those that prefer the Seal styling to the Atto but wanted a SUV.Should compete with the Deepal SUV recently released.
What I really like about the BYD Sea Lion is they are employing rear wheel drive - it's just a much better vehicle dynamically.

Empty vessels make the most noise... Plato
Start a discussion about green technology or climate change and you bring out the haters. How many EV haters have we seen here that introduce themselves with the well worn phrase “I’m not an EV hater but…”
Having locked horns with quite a few over the years a common picture appears:
A rudimentary understanding of science, which leads to an inability to understand how new technology works. Due to an inability to follow the scientific method they are left with only one choice and that is to accept without question what their favorite media outlet says on the subject.
Due to an extremely short spell in education they never had to submit research papers and so they have no familiarity with how citations work. They are not “standing on the shoulders of giants“ but simple regurgitating the popular phrases that they have heard and cannot defend them as they have no fundamental understanding of what they are saying.
”of course the future is H2, EVs will soon be gone”
challenging a comment like this or submitting evidence of closing H2 filling stations around the world is a waste of time when you dealing with a closed mind.
So that brings us to this discussion “Electric Vehicles in Thailand” at 6,400 comments it has more comments that any other discussion in the Thailand Motor Discussion achieved in only a couple of years.
Several failed attempts to start an EV discussion led @KhunLA to create the https://aseannow.com/topic/1246109-ice-vs-ev-the-debate-thread/ which meant we had a discussion that we could direct people to who wanted to discuss EVs in general and it has proved to be a very popular discussion in it’s own right. There was already an anti-China car discussion https://aseannow.com/topic/1235921-why-so-many-chinese-cars-mg-cars-do-people-only-care-to-buy-something-cheap-whatever-is-the-quality/ So we were able to create a very narrowly focussed discussion about EVs in Thailand.
A big thanks to the Mods for deleting posts that try to hijack the thread.
EVs are popular in Thailand with nearly 11% of all vehicles registered in 2023 being full EVs and people want a discussion where they can find out the latest models and user experiences here in Thailand.
I know people see “EVs” and just want to launch into a tirade of vitriol, but expect to be challenged and suffer criticism if you post anything stupid. Off-topic posts will be reported and removed.
As OP I will quickly block the worst offenders as I am done arguing with fools.
Begs the question - why is the elegant function called 'ignore' not on speed dial with the regulars? It's almost tranquil in here after a number of low IQ posters are filtered out........!
When we went to the zoo as kids, or parents were adamant to never feed the trolls - it's still sage advise 50 years later. 🤣😂

Xpeng CEO says he welcomes Tesla to bring FSD to China
https://cnevpost.com/2024/04/29/xpeng-ceo-welcomes-tesla-fsd-china/
The Chinese EV industry welcomes any competition enthusiastically, conversely - US and European car companies are petrified of the Chinese competing in their markets, how odd!
'Tesla has great autonomous driving technology and brand, and only with the entry of more good products and technology can the whole market and customers have a better experience, Xpeng CEO said.'
What an odd concept to think that additional competition will benefit the customer - that is hilarious! As some posters on here cant repeat enough, they rather pay companies to enrich themselves instead of taking advantage of the rapidly expanding attractive products from China.
Yup - TSLA up 11%..........on a wing and a prayer!

What do you mean by this?
Lets say you want to go from BKK to Krabi - how often and where do you recharge?
Or for that matter any trip that pushes the range boundary, the car should offer several ideal scenarios for fastest re-charge vs. travel time optimizations. To no one's surprise, Tesla is the gold standard for this, but many other cars do quite well, too. BYD offers a black hole.

We have an all-singing, all-dancing wonderful car and one of the few disappointments for me is the poor visual aesthetics of the two screens. The HUD is crisp and beautiful while the two screens are cheap and nasty looking. I thought I would get used to them but after 6 months they still look naff to me
.
Does anyone else agree, or is it just me?
P.S. Sometimes when I mess about with holding down the scroll button to the right of the gear selector, I get a very simplified, quite beautiful version of the smaller screen. But it doesn’t stay for long and anyway, it has extremely limited information on it.
To be honest, I doubt BYD will change the graphics or much of the functionality of their software - it seems to me that is a department they are sorely lacking compared to other Chinese made EVs. Whoever is in charge of their software development should take his head out were the sun doesn't shine and get a look around what other companies do. There are cheaper vehicles out there that do so much better.
Some of the most blatant nonsense to me are:
On the consumption-graph page is a picture of the car taking 2/3 of the real-estate, and the useless squiggly graph is squeezed to the side without any informational value whatsoever. They obviously don't want to convey any useful information or data, they just needed another page with a stupid picture of the car.
There is no trip preparation and support whatsoever, I am not sure this is just a Thai version failing as I have seen YT clips of European users that had some functionality for this.
I suppose most users will forgive BYD for the crappy phone app - but after having used the MG app for almost 4 years with all its great functionalities, I know it does not take much to do much, much better. The one thing I have to credit BYD over MG is its responsiveness, I suppose their cloud service is much faster. And what is it with the tire pressure graphics? They could not even manage to put a Seal model in there?
There are two things I like on the Tesla - their software and their power train efficiency. The Tesla interior and ergonomics however are such a disaster, I could never see myself in a Tesla. So in the end, I settled for less in the BYD in those respects, and without regrets........all my bitching about their software notwithstanding: It's an awesome car with some sad shortcomings.

I suspect 8 stalls at 200kw is not possible without upgrading the supply, perhaps they are waiting on that, how many stalls were occupied?
Together with our BYD - there were 5 cars hooked up for charging.

BYD Electric cars
in Thailand Motor Discussion
Posted
I like this size comparison - but I think it is actually not only that part of the body that is significantly more developed when it cums to electric and especially Chinese cars - but that would be sexist and hi-jack this thread into the gutter faster than I can hit 'enter' 😂🤣😇
