But if younger healthy people are likely to only have mild symptoms, I think they should be allowed to go back to work.

If they have it they spread it. With "get back to work" there is a silent implication of "get back to normal". If a large portion of the population does this the virus will have a big party.

  2. No tests, no certificates. It will take some time before tests will be available for everyone and I suppose it will take even more time before I can afford them.

If I pay 400€ for a test and 1000 € for a ticket it will sum up. It is quite funny that my wife (she is thai) does not need a health certificate. So even if I stay sick at home she will be able to enter the country.

Would it be an option to use another country for "quarantine transit", fly there, stay there for a few weeks and then go to Thailand?

Wonderful.  "Officials" say this.  As opposed to all of the doctors who say otherwise, unless you're sick, a health care worker, etc.

That is not 100% accurate. Christian Drosten who is a well known virologist said recently (I read about that today) that wearing if face masks can be a valid measure if it is done by many. It will not prevent you from getting the virus but it lowers the probability of those who have it to spread it. He said for cultural reasons (!) he thinks that is almost impossible to achieve in the western world.

  4. I use it now for a year in different countries and it is working great. I used it Thailand in my last holiday for paying in Lotus, Restaurants and even getting cash from an ATM. Worked everywhere.

What I really like is the multi-currency option. You can not only use it to change in realtime but you can choose the timing of the exchange. So I changed EUR to 5000 THB in the app last stay before the weekend. Your card does then have 2 balances. One for your first currency (GBP, EUR, USD) and another one for THB. All bookings made in THB which are small enough to be paid from your THB balance will be deducted from that balance. That way you get a superb conversion rate even at the weekend. And no need to take piles of cash from home.

I have used it successfully in Germany, Netherlands and Thailand.

She has just flown back to Thailand, ahead of me, and presented her Thai passport at Phuket. She was told she could not use it as there was no stamp in it for exiting Thailand. She explained the above but they said the Thai passport should have been issued in the Uk not Phuket.

They absolutely refused her her entry on it.

About one month ago we had a similar experience in Phuket, flying in from Germany. My wife had a virgin passport from the Thai Embassy in Germany and the immigration officer did not find the exit stamp as there was no.

But the situation came to an easy end because we had the old passport in our bags and I showed it to him. It was my impression that the missing stamp was raising the stress level of the officer. I thought they might not have too many of these cases - at least in Phuket. I would assume that most Thais fly via BKK into Thailand.

At least for my non professional eyes it is not possible to see how you can know if a passport is issued in/via an embassy or in Thailand. Maybe by the Passport number. The "issued by" reads "Ministry of Foreign Affairs".
