has anyone from the uk used the acro police check? the website says it can take 40 days to issue a police check. i wondered if it does actually take that long?
has anyone recieved it really quick?

Haha in the uk a DBS is a police background check that you need to work in certain jobs. Mine is a few days too old to be used but I've realised I couldn't use it either way. I'm very impatient and don't read things properly. [emoji6]

I'll apply for the multi either way. Seems easier all round. I just wanted to double check the meaning but I'd rather be safe than sorry

Hi folks. Yet another question.
One of The requirement for the OA Visa is a police check. I work with children and have a DBS please check does anybody know if it is the same as they require for the Visa and I can use that instead or do I still have to go through the process of getting a new police check?

There is a topic running on this very question right now "2 years out of a single entry O-A ? ", check it out.
It would appear that the single entry O-A doesn't exist anymore but may still be on some documentation.
When I applied I went straight for the multi entry , don't remember seeing any mention of a single.
Thanks. Multiple it is then. [emoji41]

Ah ok. Just so I understand properly. If, for example I go to Cambodia next April, when I return I'd get another year?

Sorry I can't answer your question but I wonder if you would mind answering one for me?
It's about the single or multiple entry, I will be applying for the OA Visa in the next couple of weeks and plan to spend a couple of years in Thailand. It seems obvious that the single entry Visa means I won't be able to travel outside of Thailand is that correct? If I apply for the single entry would I be able to change to a multiple entry later on if I do decide to travel in and out of Thailand? Would it just be easier to apply for the multiple entry from the start? I don't plan to leave Thailand within the first 8 months anyway. Sorry to jump on your question but you've obviously gone through the process recently
Thanks

im going to apply for a o-a visa in the next few weeks, the plan is to stay in thailand for a couple of years at least.
my passport is due to expire in july 2018,
would it be better to renew now, or wait and renew later on while in thailand?

I think the sherrifs office ( that's what they're called in Scotland ) will notarise your docs.
That all sounds a bit Wild West [emoji4] we don't have sheriffs here.

1 minute ago, Andrew Dwyer said:
The medical checkup from your home country is the norm yes but it can be done in Thailand too.
Like the previous poster I did mine in Thailand, print out the medical check sheet ( it's in English and Thai) , go to your local hospital or clinic and have a few checks, took me less than an hour and cost 360 baht.
Mine was accepted at Thai embassy in London for O-A visa.i'll need to do it here as i will be applying for the visa while still in the uk.

im in similar situation. but im confused by how much ive read! dont you need a medical check from home in order to apply for the oa visa?
-
Phew. Thanks ?

The other thing I wanted to ask. Do you think/know if it'll be a problem to apply for the so visa without a return flight booked? I have a one way flight for myself and my dogs but don't plan to come back to the U.K. Anytime soon.

I'm still in the U.K. And applying at the Thai embassy in London. I'm trying to figure out where to get it notarised. I read that banks can do it but mine just told me they can't

hellooo
so im planning a long stay in thailand and will apply for the o-a visa,
the website states that bank statement, police and medical records have to be notarised. does this have to be a solicitor? i've read that someone had theirs done by the bank for free (not for a visa) has anyone else had it signed by the bank, also if its by a solicitor can you give me an idea of the charges. thanks
