Don't understand the "driving at speed" thing. How fast was the "kid" driving on thus road? He must've been going pretty darn fast. Terrible situation.

Update- We finally were married yesterday at the local office. It took two trips to do it at after we got the okay from them (document processing, then witnesses and the formalized certificates).

Just went through this today. The local government office said we are not marrying anyone (making appointments) during this time of contagion. (?) If anyone has more information, I'd appreciate it.

I agree- Thailand was ruined when the suburbanites sold their house, and became instant millionaires in Thailand. What a pathetic comment.

I never post in this kinda section, but dragging her along the ground (Yes I believe it was purposefully done) for this minor offense is unexcusable. Me-17 seventeen years in Thailand.

What CRC does the Thai Embassy want in Vientiane, Laos for a Non-O (purpose retirement)if you're in Thailand? From their website:
resume
Certificate of income of not less than 65,000 baht per month from the embassy / consulate of the country of residence or a letter from a bank in Thailand showing financial status of not less than 800,000 baht and in the bank account no less. Over 3 months
Evidence of criminal background checks from a country of residence
Medical certificateNote: Applicants must not be a prohibited person. Or a prohibited disease into the Kingdom of Thailand. And this type of visa is not allowed to work in Thailand.

Because of my timeline, I'm going to try apply for an extension based on retirement (so I needed to know if the income document had to be translated). If not, I can go the marriage route, but I'd rather not rush it- (6 years together).

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I do not live in Chiangmai(going to the US consulate), but in a Northern province, so it'd be for the local immigration office.I'm not sure if they require the MFA stamp. I just wanted to know if they both needed to be translated(income verification letter as I know the marriage one has to be).

USA citizen- Do both the income affidavit and the marriage affidavit have to be translated into Thai? Does anyone know of a translation agency close to the US consulate in Chiangmai? Thank you for any help.

Ok- thank you very much.

Thanks-June 1st is Children's day (official holiday) in Laos so ok. The reason I mentioned the forms was because my address isn't a hotel or condo in my name; It was only to offer supplemental proof of where I reside should they ask. Therefore, a single would only grant me 90 days, and then, would it be possible for the local immigration to extend it?

Open or closed?
Non-O Multiple Entry(retirement):
Copies:
Passport Pages- TM7 -check
Income Letter from US Embassy-check
Housebook- copy (TM28 and TM30)-copies- Letter from partner.
Application-check
Possible?- Leaving the country every 90 days for a spin-around is A-ok.

Thank you-perhaps I should just get a tourist in Vientiane, and if needed, do the course you suggested.

Greeting!
Due to unforeseen issues (work outside of Thailand), I’m in a bit of visa dilemma. I’ve been in a relationship with a Thai lady for quite a few years, and have a house in Northern Thailand. I don’t really want to get married (no children and we’re both the same age, so it’s kind of pointless in IMHO) and go that route. I have other income from outside of Thailand coming in, but I may be working outside Thailand again in a few months. Other than a tourist visa, is a non-o possible? I’m worried about getting another extension on my visa exempt.
Age: 50 years old (do not have 800K in a Thai bank)
Nationality: USA
May 2016-May 2017(1 year –worried about”180 day” rule
All of my entries have been by air.
2016-July-August visa exempt 30+extension at Jomtien
2017- Feb-March my local immigration office (25 days out)
I’m currently on a visa exempt that ends next week.
Could I apply for a non-o in Savannakhet? Documents?
Thanks.

They were warned, and did not heed the warning. They caused the manager to lose face. Remember, this wasn't a beer bar, but a very reputable establishment. They will now face the consequences. I have no sympathy.
