Any hope of bringing back DCF to BKK?
OP how long the entire process? Did you file thru Texas?
Sorry to hijack.
No worries. Filed I-130 in July of last year. It should have gone to Nebraska service center but unfortunately got sent to Vermont for some reason which has way longer wait times. In February I contacted my senator's office back home, asked if they could assist (because there had been no progress for 8 months). Filled out a form with them, and they lit a fire under USCIS and my I-130 got approved and case sent to NVC two weeks later. Took us about a month to get all the paperwork and everything sorted here, then submitted visa application about a month ago. Less than 10 days later we were 'documentarily approved'. So now we're just waiting on the bangkok embassy to schedule the interview.
Hope that helps. -

Can't advise you on the timing, in these troubled times, who knows.
But let your wife know this is nothing to sweat about. 2 minutes in front of a plexiglass window and its done.
In every IR-1/CR-1 case the decision is already made
That's good to know, she really isn't sure what to expect. We have 3 kids (all US citizens) and have been together 5+ years, though, so my guess is the questioning won't be too intense.

Hi, I live with my Thai wife and children here in Bangkok and filed our I-130 last July. We got through USCIS, case got sent to NVC, and have been documentarily approved for a month or so there. So we are essentially just waiting on her interview at the USA embassy in Bangkok.
I'm wondering if anyone has gone through this recently and can let me know how long it took? I know things are slow right now, but I do wonder if the embassy is scheduling interviews for people with a priority date in May 2020 or like December 2019. Basically our goal is to move back to USA before the holidays, so that's my concern.
If anyone has any insights please let me know. -
I am renewing my non-imm B for the first time and expecting a visit from immigration to our office in the next couple weeks. What should I expect from the visit? Will they interview all of the staff? Some of our staff travel for work, will we need to have them all come to the office as for the visit? Do we need time sheets?
Any information would be great so we can be prepared, thanks.

The ministerial order that stated only 2 employees was changed in 2010 or early 2011. So the rule no longer exists but some work permit offices will still allow only 2 Thai employees.
Well crumb. Is there a certain amount of time the Thai employees have to be working there first? Or could they hire 2 more workers and then the 4 would be able to sponsor me in a couple months?

No. And just because you are married doesn't mean the department issuing the work permit will reduce the Thai employee requirement to two. There is no automatic entitlement.
Oh, this is news to me. Who decides if the company needs 2 or 4 Thai staff to sponsor me then? I was under the impression if you are married to a Thai national it only requires two Thai staff for you to get a work permit.
-
Here's my situation:
I will be getting married in Thailand, to a Thai woman, in the next couple of months, and immediately after that will start work with a company in Bangkok. This company can't currently support a work permit for me because they only have 2 Thai staff that are not already supporting a foreigner work permit (4 Thai staff total, 2 of them are used so another foreigner-married-to-Thai can have a work permit).
My question is, is there a certain amount of time after my marriage that the 'only needing 2 Thai employees to sponsor a foreigner work permit' won't work? Or can I get married and begin the process of getting the work permit immediately?
Any advice is appreciated.

Does anyone know what form this is? Basically just to certify that I am who it says I am on my passport and it's not a fake or something. I've looked at all the notary services and I'm not sure what is the closest one.

Perhaps your parents names so they can be translated as well. You will need that for the yellow book application.
Okay, thank you

It will then be up to the translator to do it correctly unless you have had your name translated before.
My sister in law will tell them how to write it. I guess my question is if I need to bring anything else to the translator's office.

I am not married. It is the tabian baan for my brother's wife. I live with them.

I am getting added to my sister-in-law's tabien baan (to get Thai DL) and I need to get my passport translated into Thai first. I know the place to go, but what do I need to bring with me other than my passport and how I want my name to be spelled in Thai? Does anyone have experience with this?
-
Does anyone know if you are able to get a Thai DL if you are here on an METV? I plan on transatitioning to a type 0 in the spring but I would like to get a driver's license now.
I already have the AAA International DL as well.

Getting ready to submit my application for an METV visa (USA Los Angeles consulate) and the requirements list a hotel reservation. I am staying with my brother who lives over there now with his Thai wife. Do I need to put an extra paper in there that indicates that?
He is already listed as my thai signateur with the same address that I say I'm staying at, not sure if that's enough.

The one ticket in and out of the country part is what it says under single entry, but down under METV it says the multiple tickets thing, no? I will call about the employment verification thing.
-
I have two things I'm unclear about from the info on the website, wanted to clear them up before I submitted my stuff this coming week.
1. Employment verification. I read a thread from 2016 that said the LA consulate in USA does require it, but others don't maybe? My employer does not know I am quitting my job to go to Thailand, asking for a letter would be a little weird. Could I potentially just mail my application to the DC consulate? Even though I am closest to LA one.
2. "Copy of airline tickets (e-tickets or itinerary showing confirmed flights) - tickets should show multiple entries". Am I really supposed to have plane tickets showing my multiple entries? They don't exist, not sure if I need to buy some for the verification and then refund, but that would be pretty annoying.
Any advice appreciated.

I am planning to attend Rangsit university this fall, I had a couple of questions. It says that in order to keep the education visa you have to take 15 hours per week. What is the equivalent of this in American colleges? 15 credits, or something else. 15 seems like a lot so I am not sure.
Additionally, is it possible for me to renew my visa extension during the last month of the semester to be able to have a couple of months after the semester to try and figure out what to do next?
Any help would be appreciated.
