Going by the name, he's Russian with an Israeli nationality. Not that it matters.

If they don't break out the boosters, it's not a real emergency.

What about another round of boosters? That might help, no?

"The video, now widely circulated online, begins with the woman asserting that Israeli tourists play a crucial role in bolstering Thailand's economy. Instead of following the simple request, she suggested that their contribution to tourism should exempt her from such local customs."
Inflammatory BS. I read Hebrew and I can share she didn't write her contribution to tourism should exempt her from such local customs, rather that her foot was injured and that was the reason she refused to take off her shoes to which she got a permission for the owner. Whether true or false, it beyond my knowledge.-

And the fact you have not sought out such reviews or bothered to read them means you are trying to share your ignorance?

You smugly linked me to the CDC site, without offering any peer reviewed study that demonstrates the injections reduce symptoms. I suppose it's quite befitting that you employed the word "ignorance," as it takes one to know one.

People from other Countries seem to have forgotten what an absolute mess they made of handling Covid... UK alone put many elderly people in their graves prematurely with nothing better than complete incompetence. I think Thailand did pretty well too.
Yes, Thailand has done so brilliantly well that it''s "only" shrunk in population size by 100,000 people since January 2021.
Query the government's database for number of births and deaths and see for yourself:

I've had it twice that I know of, the first time before any vaccines and I ended up with double pneumonia, which wiped me out for a couple of months really. Very hard to recover from the secondary illnesses that accompanied the pneumonia. The second time was after a couple of vaccines and was far less severe, just a mild flu.
Have you considered that your first infection was due to the Alpha or Delta strains, which were more virulent in nature, while the second time you were assaulted by the Omicron variant, which is milder in symptoms?
As for the vaccines reducing the severity of the symptoms, I'm yet to see a single peer-reviewed study that supports that claim.

That's still a far cry from immigration having the powers to deport someone because they ‘want to’... there is a legal process involved....
Thus, when people are suggesting that ‘immigration will just deport and blacklist the frenchman’ and it's up to the Immigration officer - they are wrong. Immigration do not have that level of discretion.
Stop pulling things out of thin air.
I sent you a link that explains clearly how the Ministry of the Interior can deport one without any legal process.
You don't wish to accept it? Up to you. But that won't change reality. If they want to kick you out, they will -- without any judge involved.

I’m so sure that is correct....
Immigration officers do not have the powers of discretion you suggest, they cannot just send someone home because they acted inappropriately.
Immigration are pretty much powerless unless a foreigner has broken the conditions of their stay, i.e. committed a serious crime.
In this case - I don’t think Immigration have the power to send one of the Frenchman home (the car owner) as he hasn’t committed any serious crime.
The second Frenchman ‘could’ be sent home, by the time this has gone to court his ‘visa exempt entry’ will have expired and he can easily be deported on the technicality of being on over-stay.
I'm quite certain you're wrong about how deportation is triggered in Thailand. As far as I know, it's sufficient that Ministry of the Interior gives that order. Yes, it's that arbitrary. One can appeal e.t.c., but the process isn't handled thorough the courts, and one doesn't have to be found guilty of breaking any law.

We're merely guests in this country, and our rights are rather limited.

1. You're supposed to stop when you have a car accident.
2. Why should he?
3. Maybe he has no medical training.
And why was the French car driver arrested?
1. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, as i don't have the entire clip.
2. It's a universal and human obligation to deescalate flaring violence--especially when the perpetrator is part of your company.
3. By law and reason, you shouldn't forsake the injured. It's your responsibility to summon help and assist as best you could.

You haven't listed one single crime there.
You've missed the point. It's in the discretion of the immigration to send one off for any activity or behavior they deem inappropriate--whether one breaks the law or not.

It definitely (IMO) matters from a moral perspective, the French guy could be seen to walk away when the Thai guy re-escalated with a kick. This doesn’t appear to be the ‘cold unprovoked one sided assault’ reported in the media.
It was a two sided fight which could be considered a mitigating circumstance. There is still a lot missing from the story.
It's no a matter of legality. The Thai immigration doesn't view brawling and throwing punches favorably. Being a guest in this country behooves one to exercise self-retrain and to act only if absolutely necessary.

I have seen the footage that the Thia press have managed to overlook and I'm not really sure about who I believe was in the wrong at this time, I'm waiting for more information to come in.
However, I do not understand what the driver did apart from being there.
Is their some other footage that I have missed?
Is the driver being blacklisted for driving on red plates at night or did he do something that I haven't seen in any of the reports?
First off, he stopped the car, availing the ensuing confrontation.
Next, he didn't try to deescalate the situation.
Lastly, He didn't lend help to the fallen man.

Have you ever done an extension in Thailand yet? Or are you still on the original, multiple entry, O-A visa.
A key question. I've done an extension, so I should be in the clear. Thanks.

Your non O-A is valid for one year. During that validity you are stamped in for 12 months every time you enter Thailand.
It's a multi entry visa.
You need to be outside of Thailand without a reentry permit and the non O-A has expired
Thanks. I should have mentioned that I'm on yearly extension, my O-A long expired. It seems that all I have to do is not to apply for a re-entry permit.

Is your OA visa still valid or do you have re-entry permit that is valid. If yes you would not be able to get a tourist visa or enter visa exempt.
You can apply for non-o visa with a entry from a tourist visa or a 30 day visa exempt entry.
That form is fantastic. Thanks!
My OA is still valid, but I haven't obtained a re-entry permit and don't intend to get one before I leave in September. The conditions in your answer are slightly ambiguous, so am I in the clear?
-
I’m currently in Thailand on O-A. Leaving for 1 month in September and would like to “convert” my visa to O and move to yearly extensions.
Should I apply to O in my home county or return on a tourist visa and do it in Thailand? I don’t see that option on the embassy webpage, so maybe it’s not offered.
Alternatively, can I enter the Thailand on tourist visa and then apply for O? I read on one website that’s impossible, but I want to make sure.
Many thanks for allowing me to pick your brains.

Apparently Thailand is unaware of the personal financial crisis affecting potential tourists from many first world countries.
Recession, recession, recession is hitting folks right where it hurts the most
Let us not forget inflation, inflation, inflation. People have little disposable income to spare for traveling.

Yep your heating bills go up in Europe because it's cold, but you move to Thailand and your electric bill soars because it's so hot in summer have to use the air-con all night and part of the day.
Which bill is bigger?
Dunno, live by the sea, never turn the A/C on. Solar panels do the rest. PEA bill = 0

I don't buy the premise. In my area March was atypically cold, and April not hotter than usual. 38c max mid day, with 32c in the mornings. A fantastic hot season. As for the "Global Warming," to each their own.

Was already detracted in July in South Africa.
According to the discovering doctor, it breaks trough the vaccine, but the symptoms are very mild and not requiring hospitalization.
So what difference would vaccination make?

More thinking based on ignorance and prejudice. Who is more likely to be infected - a tourist who has been fully vaccinated with an effective, Swiss-approved vaccine AND tested repeatedly OR a native Thai who might have been vaccinated and likely never tested who probably encounters migrant workers who are neither vaccinated or tested? Sadly, it is thinking like this that the public health strategy often seems to be based on.
Tourists are worried about catching COVID but not from other tourists.
Their chances are identical. The vaccines don't stop transmissions nor prevent infections -- no brand exempt. What is claimed they do -- by the pharmaceutical companies and the overseeing agencies alike -- is to reduce Covid-19 symptoms.
