  1. LA won't be much help because you are not yet 50 and that Consulate is tough as nails. Apply by mail for a mutiple entry Non-Immigrant O visa at the the Thai Consulate-General at Houston, and extend it a year at a time at Immigration in Thailand as soon as you turn 50. Good luck.

If you enter the Kingdom with a One Year Non-Immigrant for retirement, the person has to do a run every tree month.

But is the person (after one year) able to extend that Visa at Immigration based on retirement for yet another year without he never need to leave the Kingdom again? Or will the demand about a run every tree mount continue?

    Cheers, Andreas

  2. I am divorcing a Thai lady, or actually it I am trying to do so.

We are married abroad and were living abroad as well. Later on, we moved to the Kingdom. Then we got big cross-cultural problems. Anyway, now we are apart, and a bit later, after some girls, I actually met a really nice woman I really love (but that's another story).

The marriage with the (first) Thai woman was NOT registered in Thailand, and therefore we cannot get divorced in Thailand. Further more, coz we are not living in my home country, we cannot get divorced there as well.

Anyway, my embassy tells that we can be a kind of divorced by judgment in Thailand. I simply have to make a summons against her. But other lawyers tell that is not possible. Does that means that the embassy is being advised by corrupt lawyers that want to make business as the royal embassy is referring to those lawyers…

Does anybody have any experience with divorcing Thai women in cases the marriage was not registered in Kingdom but in home country only???

    Regards, Andrew

  3. Its not a problem about the 20K for overstay; it a problem what will happens IF YOU ARE CATCH before...

20K never mind, but catch by police with a overstayed passport is not very good.

You really never know when a police officer wants to see you passpport. This weekend, i actually was attached by the maifia, so I was very happy for my work permit and that every think was in order.

...also I was happy for good employees helping me in the middle of the night. Thank you very much staff and management :o

    /Andrew

  4. Hi,

If you have a turnover more that 1,000,000, you need to register for VAT.

Already now, Labour Dpt prefers farangs got 50,000 Baht a month. And minumum salary is about 170 Baht a day for Thai, and you need four.

Then, how should you be able to explain Labour Dpt, you can run a businnes with a turnover lesser than 1 mil? In Thailand non-profit business is not legal.

    Cheers,

    Andrew

  5. Hi astral,

I have complained for years about the way the signal disappears when it rains. They say it is normal. I have a degree in electrical engineering, and I say it is not. The dish is too small to cope with the lower signal strength in rain. I reckon a 1m dish should do the job, not the 70cm one that UBC fits.

Yeah, I have complaint many time about the raining, and about the stupid information running when they is real adversitement behind. I would prefer the real advertisement instead of this crazy info about schools and nigro music.

And what about the movies. You have to watch the same movies three times at each channel...

Now, I have stopped payment coz they couldnt explain anything but the usual stuff. "Please try unplug etc etc..." My problem has nothing to with my equipment.

It seems like staff at UBS are quite stupid???

    And nearly 1,500 Baht???

    Cheers,

    Andrew

  6. Dear Mr. Taksin,

Thanks for making work permit so difficult. I have SAVED lots of money because I could not pay tax because I could not get a work permit before now. :o

Thanks for changing closing time to 12. Now I can get a young girl at 24:00 already WITHOUT barfine. And nobody will protect her, so I can do what ever I want... :D

And thanks for your lack of supporting farang chambers. Now we know that we should not invest in Thailand. Thailand is not for business but for Thai Rak Thai only. :D

And thanks for interfere in Thai peoples private affairs. Now we know that Thai Land i.e. Land of Frees is wrong and Siam i.e. Land of Browns is right :D

Welcome back Siam, a name made of Cambodians...

    Chohk D Taksin,

    Andrew

(Pls ThaiVisa.com do not delete my reply... I respect HM King, the Lord Buddha, and the Land of Frees, Thai-Land).

  7. By the way, my co-workers said that teenagers under 18 yrs no longer are allowed to walk (alone) on the street after 22.00 hrs??? Is that right? Does that include farang teenagers?

By the way, the meeting places for the bar and go-go girls will be available 00.00 hrs already, so there will be lots of cheap fun for farangs knowing that places.

But, if the gov't really wants to care about the prostitutes, it should keep the girls inside instead on send them out on the street.

Anyway, the girls are working 7 days a week and now they get a change for some more spare time.

    Cheers,

    Andrew

  8. Hi Sunbelt Asia,

Our fee is 9,500 Baht for the work permit. So you would have some savings there. On renewal its 5,000 Baht

It is very cheap... I will consider that for next time.

However, my visa is running out on May 31, and then the Work Permit as well.

But, actually, I would like to change my Marriage Visa (O) to a Business Visa. Don't ask why... :o Is that complicated and when do I need to start applying for Businees Visa? ANd what is your fee for renewal/changing Visa?

    Regards, Andrew

  9. Hi,

At last... I go my work permit.

I paid 17,120 to the Lawyer incl. disbursement.

Already, I had a Visa 0 from a Thai marriage.

Our capital i 2 mil, 4 full time employees, and many freelancers. I am the only and first farang. Four shareholders are farangs (one is me, the other are not staying in Kingdom), three is Thais. The Thais have more than 51%.

BUT i have had some extra cost (about 10,000) for changing the board many times during the process because of reasons that I cannot explain here. Anyhow, now I am the only board member and MD as well.

I have to pay tax of 50,000 Baht.

Regards, and thanks for your help,

    Andrew

  10. Hi,

I think I have a bad lawyer to work out my work permit because she is often wrong.

Now she has e new problem (not the Labor dpt.). Therefore, I have been looking all over the Internet and in the forum as well.

In my Company (a non-BOI tourism agency), we have 3 Thai shareholders and 4 farang (non-American) shareholders. One of the Thai shareholders holds 51% of the shares.

My lawyer suddenly says that it is not allowed with more farangs shareholders than Thais.

On the Internet I have found a lot about this issue. BUT in the forum, the other one about business, I saw that Sunbelt Asia said that some newer regulations said that it is okay with 1 Thai shareholder only (if s/he holds 51%).

Please anyone, or Sunbelt Asia, please confirm that our Company with 3 Thai shareholders and 4 farang (non-american) shareholders is okay for one work permit (the other conditions is no problem).

    Regards, Andrew ???
