The Non Imm 'O' multi-entry will always remain an option held in reserve.

Jack, you are probably aware that Savannaket is the only place in the region that still does multi-entry Non-O's.

No, Savannakhet is the only place in the region that does Multi Non-O for marriage without any financial proof. Others will issue, but you need to show funds.

It's out of context, but what do you call a city ? schools, markets, pharmacies, doctors, bus, banks, cars and motobikes sellers etc , it's not a city ?

Kabin buri , Srimahaphot,  Sri mahasot are cities for me, for Thai adminstration they are tambon

    Kabin buri is a district.

Si Maha Phot is both a district and a tambon, (not a city or town).

Si Mahosot is also a district, (though there are the ruins of an ancient city there).

What you call a city obviously bears no resemblance to what Thailand calls a city,

Believe me or not, one month ago, I was at a Lotus express parking ( in a small city, 8000 inhabitants, rural aera ) , and I see a Thai woman in uniform, approching me ; she asked my nationality ( I am French ), if I can speak Thai ( yes  I do , and read too ) and she asked me if I am interested to teach English in her school ; I answered that  I have no experience in teaching  and taht English is not my language ; she answered, nevermind, we have French  people who teach English

I said no, not interested, but it shows they are ready to take on anybody, whatever their level in English  is , the only important thing for them is to be farang

    sad, I think

There is not a single city or town in your province (Prachinburi) with a population as low as 8,000.

  4. I think that farewell message sums up that website brilliantly, poor English.

The site had admins and users that should have been studying English, not teaching it.

The visa questions were nearly always answered with incorrect info and incorrect terminology, I for one think the net is a better place without the site.

You do not need cancel a visa, nor should you. Leaving country on single B will cancel.

You can NOT cancel a visa, (not "no need" or "nor should"), If you have a single entry Non-B, the visa is NOT cancelled when you leave - your current permission to stay is, totally different things.

I'm planning to go to Thailand in October this year! I want to stay in Thailand for more then 6 months! I can't apply for any other visas since my financial situation does not support the requirements of any other visa!

METV requires 5k GBP or approx 220k Baht, and you want to stay longer than 6 months, so about 30k a month. If you do not have those finances, just how are you going to live?

    WRONG

a multiple NON B 1 year visa (issued OUTSIDE the country) indicates he must leave every 90 days

The important word here is "with" that would indicate that the multiple entry is in addition to the "visa". Ergo the normal assumption would be an extension and a multi re-entry permit.

As another poster said, if it was a multi-entry Non-B, that is how most people would describe it.

  8. You were given advice that the school sounded "dodgy", but the money was more important to you. Now you decide to leave the school in the lurch because of your decision to accept the job.

You stated before that the school had been very accommodating to your wishes, (starting 2 weeks late etc.), and that they had modified your contract - yet you still want to set a bad example by doing a runner !

Thank you all for your feedback and insights. They've been very helpful. The school is willing to revise and modify the funny bits in my contract. So far so good. As it seems I am going to Thailand after all. I know that the experience is going to be at least interesting. Hopefully, I won't come back to this forum whining about my school. If I do feel free to troll me.

Maybe posting some examples would shut them up  -  only legit one I can think of is Medical reasons, I roll everything else around in my head and can't come up with anything "legit" .

If you have a medical problem and can't travel, you are able to get extensions based on that. So even medical is not really a valid excuse.

I will reply to your comment. Post 118, 121, and 123 all have a space between the last word and punctuation marks. Trouble writing English? See, mine are next to the last word in the sentence.

Merely done for the sake of ease of reading. Though you are correct, there should not be a space.

Sorry but you are wrong on this. It is based on age relative to your wife. It is proper to call your wife's elder sister "pee" (dtam sak) even if the sister is younger than you. This is in the family setting. Although I must say it feels awkward to me.

With friends, a person may be called "pee" by older friends if they have particular respect for that person. Same goes for work. Otherwise it is based on relative age.

Another poster who failed to see the question mark in my post.

Having just asked my (possibly) future wife, she reckons that in theory you are correct, but in reality, (at least her understanding of it), it would not happen like that.

    :-)

few years back a friend paid a lawyer to sort the mess out and pay the fine. cost 20k fine and 20k for the lawyer. no blacklist. not sure if it is still possible.

Then your friend was ripped off by 20k, as a few years ago you could clear overstay of any length with no threat of blacklisting, (unless caught).

My wife's brother is older than her, so I call him "pee"

The "pee" or "nong" should be based on their relative age and position to you, not your wife ?

I knew two Thais who called each other "pee", one because she was older, and the other because she was her boss.

"By the way, can you speak Thai? This makes the understanding of when to wai easier." - How?

Excuse me? How am I up my own backside? Why the need for insults, just because you disagree with my opinion/experience?

I misread it. It doesn't make sense otherwise. Not waiing your own family elders is pathetic if you ask me.

They are not your family, they are your in-laws, they are your wife's family.

Here is a question for you though. Let's say that I am a lecturer and my gf's father is a barber. I am older than him, but of course he is the father of my gf. Who instigates the wai, and why ?

    Update:

Got all the paperwork ready what the ministry of labor wants to see. As follow:

    Copy marriage certificate

    Copy yellow book

    Copy pink ID card

    Copy passport

    Contract

    Job description

    Teacher license application

    Copy diploma + translation

    Copy visa

Anyways, a lot of paperwork. What I'm concerned about. They have a application form to get a teacher license. In my opinion, I don't need it because on the contract my position is "teacher assistant"

What are your thoughts about this?

    Thanks for the replies!

You certainly do not need either a yellow book or ID card. Many people have neither,

If they want a teachers' licence application for you are screwed, the TCT will never give you a waiver without a degree.

PS Your opinion means nothing to the powers that be.

PPS I know this is frowned upon, but IF you are proposing to teach English - don't.

I understand your resentment against the woman IF you had agreed that you would get it back. However, no need to hold it against the other millions of honest people.

He said he got the dowry back ! Not only are you so far up your own backside, you can't read either !
