I am currently having discussions regarding this issue with my wife. I have a Non-immigrant Type O Multiple Entry Visa based on marriage with an "Enter Before" date of 7 Sep 2018; when I went through Immigration (13 Sep 2017) they stamped passport with "Admitted Until" 11 Dec 2017. I believe this requires a Visa run prior to 11 Dec to get another 90 days...my wife says I have 1 year stay in Thailand and Immigration made mistake.
Can anyone clarify this for me?
Make sure you time it so the last time you re-enter Thailand is just before or on September 7th 2018 which will get you nearly 15 months from that visa.
Oh and I'd personally ignore those advising you to get that visa in Thailand. It cant be done.

That was on anather forum the other day for a little while before it got took down.
The guy wants 4000 baht to go with you to open a bank account and he will go with you to a branch, he doesnt say where but he surely knows banks that still offer accounts on tourist visas.

Why don't you tell us the name of the bank, location, and contact?
You cannot, so why spread false infomation.

Which Central Plaza? There are maybe 10 Central Plazas in Bangkok
With which kind of Visa? Obviously not a tourist Visa, because with a tourst Visa you don't get a certificate of residence in BKK
Sorry, Central Festival and with a non-o based on marriage from Savannakhet.
As an aside, i got a couple of credit cards from Bangkok bank. I have a platinum visa which can be used to top up miles with Bangkok airways and Thai airways. and an Air Asia master card which came with a few perks too.
You just deposit 100k in a seperate account with the bank.
The Platinum leader can be gotten when leaving 200k with them which earns twice the mileage of the Platinum visa i believe.
Anyway theyre both great for hiring cars abroad or onine shopping.

Cheers for that. Showed the reidence cert from immi and then had account within 10 mins, albeit with a Chelsea FC bankcard, bankbook and t-shirt. Gave the wife the shirt[emoji1]

Id hazard a guess that the Bangkok bank branch hes talking about is the one between Sukhumvit soi 8 and 10 which is where i opened an account on a tourist visa a good few years back now

Absolutely none from my experience with a tourist Visa. Not even a Retirement Visa will cut it now in BKK. They want a confirmed Thailand address. Work Visa OK.
New rules they say.
I shopped a lot and finally had to go to Pattaya to open an account.
Good Luck.
Where in Pattaya did you go?
