  1. Here it is. It changed 6 month ago but they are still getting around to updating their website. 1. Make an appt. on line 2. In Chiang Mai at least I was offered a choice; pay 200 bt and go back in 2 working days or Pay 400 bt andd wait for 1 hour (it took less in fact) https://aseannow.com/topic/1040171-ministry-of-foreign-affairs-appointment/
  2. Last week I was told by Chiang Mai immigration 15 working days prior to expiry of current visa.
  3. I did actually read the links DrJack54, all the way to the end! There were still doubts my mind with all the ifs & buts etc. Hence my previous post answering the questions you had asked. So it seems best if she applies for the Non O in her country. Thank you for your assistance.
  4. I have had a retirement visa for 3 years issued in Chiang Mai but let it expire when I returned to Australia for a few months as renewing it fell at an inconvenient time. We were married while in Australia as it was easier and all the required paperwork for the marriage certificate has been completed. I am about to apply for another non O (yes the moneys been in the bank for a long time in my name only) but I have had conflicting info on how my wife has to get her non O to obtain a dependency visa. SO 1) Does she have to apply for the non O in her country the Philippines or can she apply in Thailand which would be much more covenient and probably cheaper. 2) If she can do it here can she do it while still a visa free tourist as long as she does it as soon as she arrives to allow the mandatory 15 working days. Or does she need to have a paid 30 day extension visa?
  5. When I have renewed my Retirement Visa my Filipina wife wishes to apply for a dependency visa. I have received conflicting information about where she should apply from. Does she have to apply at the Thai Embassy in the Philippines or can she apply at a Thai Immigration Office?
  6. Can I apply for a non O visa while visa free (first 30 days) or do I have to wait and pay for a 30 day extension before applying?
  7. You cannot get a re entry permit while on a Non O Visa. I am applying for one at the moment at Chiang Mai Immigration so that I can obtain a retirement visa and I asked exactly that question. The answer was emphatically NO!
  8. Why? It is barbaric & achieves nothing! What's more spending time in jail is much greater punishment, especially an Asian jail.
  9. Well said! One reasonable reply in 15. About par for the course ...
  10. Maybe they mean 9 months ... But I haven't heard anything about the solar & wind power that is needed not just for EV's but in general. A few hundred solar cyclone towers would be a good start. https://www.enviromission.com.au/site/solar-towers/concept
