  1. Hi all,

Just been advised by my local clinic here in Phuket I have tested positive to Hep C. (just awaiting further blood test results to confirm the genotype etc,)

The Doctor showed me the most probable medication I will need "MyHep ALL" and he has quoted me 15,000 Baht for 1 bottle (he mentions i will need 3 bottles / 3 months worth of treatment.

Has anyone else had the misfortune of needing this medication and where I could possibly find this medication (or a Thai manufactured generic version) at a more realistic and affordable price?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Hi all,

Will start building our home in Nong Khai (7kms outside of the city) in about a month from now.

Just wondering from those who live in this area who do you think is the best and most reliable internet service provider?

I have checked both AIS and 3BB (and they have mentioned my new home can be connected via fibre). 3BB is cheaper per month than AIS but wondering which one I should go for.

Anyone have any experiences in this field?

    Thanks in advance.

In Phuket they're not vaccinating at hospitals, it's all at the big vaccinations, one of which is very close to me. I might wander down there this week and see what they say. Not expecting anything positive but it must be worth a go.

Let me know how that goes mate.

I am about a 5 minute walk from Junceylon shopping centre where they are vaccinating the Thai's but of course I'm not allowed...even though I have yellow house book and pink ID Card!

  4. Its the same (if not worse) on the West Coast of Phuket. almost all businesses are closed (most not just temporary closures).

Thai Government are doing close to nothing to help support the Thai's in this area.....Most have lost their jobs....many have packed up and gone back to their provinces (but the ones who cant even afford to leave have been left to their own devices to try and survive. Very sad to hear the stories from the local Thai's.

  5. Hi folks,

Been a very recent Retiree here in Phuket (have been coming to Thailand for over 12 years but now made the leap to the retirement visa) I am struggling to find coffee beans that are not ridiculously expensive. I am used to buying 1kg of coffee beans back in Australia for about $10-20 AUD...here in Thailand it seems much more expensive. Have any of you found a good supplier at a reasonable price to purchase from?

    Thanks in advance,

    Steve

  6. Hi all,

My first post so please be gentle ????

I plan to apply for retirement visa within the next few months (hoping to start my early retirement in Thailand by late December this year  - assuming travel restrictions due to COVID19 are eased by then).

I will be 53 years old and currently reside in Australia. I have all the necessary requirements for the O-A Long Retirement Visa sorted out except for the health insurance part.

I have been searching the Thai Embassy website in Australia and came across the company list for Thai Health Insurance.

A few questions if I may:

    1. Are we required to only use the ones on the list?

    2. From the people within this forum, what is the consensus on which one is best value for money etc? (I'm guessing just start with the basic insurance that covers the mandatory Inpatient of 400,000 Baht and the Outpatient of 40,000 Baht)

    3. I note the Thai Embassy want an original copy of the insurance certificate - what has been the experience with you guys with them posting out overseas the appropriate paperwork (and do they send an English and Thai version?)

Thanks in advance for any advice / assistance
