Ah, good there's an alternative. Line doesn't work on my phone. Too old a version of Android. Used to work, but then they made a change and I'm not going to buy a new phone for Line.
Line is not required. It's just a "generic" QR code with a link. My camera app (Xiaomi) can read QR codes.

Oh and an update for you all. The platform is now available in English.
I just followed the link from a QR code. Didn't see a language selection on the checkin/checkout website.

Where did you get that info?

I got it today. The officer said I have to come back again on April 29, with a new letter from embassy. No free automatic extension for me.
Probably miscommunication or incorrect information.

I was in (an almost empty) CW today and they just gave me another extension stamp until April 29. I asked what should i do then, she replied if i want to stay longer I'll need to come again with another letter from the embassy. I showed her the announcement from April 7, she said it doesn't apply to me but only to people whose visa expired after March 26.
So you got an extension of stay until April 29. That date is after March 26, so it will be extended automatically to April 30 and later possibly one or several months more.

I'm guessing that the OP got denied boarding because of their German passport. Nothing to do with visa on arrival being cancelled or not cancelled.

The Thailand immigration at the train station is only open a few hours before the Thai train leaves, i think once or twice a day.
This would make sense. If one couldn't continue to Thailand by train, one would have to pass the other immigration checkpoint anyway.

There is no longer immigration for entry at the [Padang Besar] train station.
Are you sure about this? Can someone confirm please?

what were the armoured personnel carriers purchased for? this area should warrant at least one permanently stationed within this troubled area
I went to Pattani and Yala a couple weeks ago and saw some armored vans being used by the police. Not sure if those were the same vehicles you're talking about.

I wonder what amount of data CAT considers a large amount ?
I think I used around 150 gigs per month or maybe a bit less. That didn't seem to be a problem.

They do have a 3G network as well, with limited mobile data packages. (Well, I don't know whose network that actually is. ????)

They don't use "the same 4G network as True(sic)". They use DC-HSPDA on that network. Which is why they state "up to 42 Mbps" and not the expected bandwidth of true 4G.
Ok then. I assumed it's the same because my 4G modem/router identified it as 4G.
Where did you get that information? I'm not arguing, just curious.

Have a look at their (CAT) terms and conditions. It's only in Thai on their website but here's a partial translation by Google:
QuoteThe package For normal personal use only Cannot be used for commercial purposes Or using large amounts of data that may affect other users such as Bit Torrent or sharing via Hotspot or using electronic devices that require Connect large amounts of data at all times. If the company detects such use, the company will automatically suspend the use.
Perhaps your customer service agent didn't know this.
Having said that, it is of course technically possible and I may or may not have used their sim card and a 10 Mbit/s unlimited package for such purpose for a couple of months. I did limit my file transfer speeds to about 2 Mbit/s though to not burden their network too much. They use the same 4G network as True. The mobile signal of the network is fine but I have noticed some slowdown in their internet during evenings. The connection would also drop a few times in a day for 20 seconds or so. A sim and a data package from True didn't have such slowdowns.

Any source for this information, please? Or recent experience from others.
I'm planning to apply for a single entry non-o for visiting the spouse. There used to be no proof of income requirement, though the last time I applied was a few years ago.
Just reporting my experience. I applied for the (above) visa this week and it was granted. I didn't provide any financial proof and they didn't ask for any.

No
For a single entry non-o it is 200k baht. For a multiple entry it is 400k baht and/or proof of income.

Is Shoppee A Reliable Online Purchasing Platform?

The website (co th) appears to be mostly English nowadays (many product descriptions are not) but looking at it now, I don't see a way to change the language. Maybe check the language settings in your web browser.
I have ordered many things from Shopee and never had a problem so far. I always check the seller's feedback before ordering.
