  1. I think he should have spent a bit more time looking around for Thai ladies before he proposed. Try a few of the dating sites and get to know a lady before you arrive. At least if they can write and send e mails they have some skills.A lady around his age would also be a lot more suitable. I'm not sure if the young lady has children or wants them. Its possible that he doesn't as he has a tribe already.May have even had the snip? The warning sign was also there in the form of tattoos!!! All this is common sense but as we all know this is often left behind in our home countries or when besotted and in lust/love!!!

  2. I live on and off in Thailand but always find it a relaxing place to be and don't have much problems sleeping. I am English, 64 and live in Japan. Here is different. Many Foreigners here who are middle aged do have sleep problems and do wake up in the early hours in a cold sweat worried and with lots of preoccupations on minds. This is partly due to living in an alien and weird culture where outsiders are not welcome.I digress. Living in Thailand and SEA also presents many similar problems. Of course most men who choose to live in Thailand have very little family support which is critical for well being or maybe not!!! Language and cultural barriers also present a huge problem. Loneliness can be a killer and like stress, no alarms or bells go off in the brain!! Joining groups of like minded people can help and of course going out drinking. I have met so many kind and supportive people in Thailand. I would say the best approach is to form friendships with like minded people and those who are going to hang around for a while. A big error for ex pats is that turn over is high and emotional investment in friends often vanishes when people leave. As for libido I still get a woody on most mornings. I do sleep with a younger wife and have a teenage daughter around. I also teach teenagers and young adults and do find being around young people a great help. Could be a smell related hormonal trigger? I do take Sildenafil though when in Thailand and with younger ladies. Anger management is a tough one to crack. Its often frustration from the system and wanting everything too quick and on a plate.Loss of control in ones life can also bring it on. Keep Calm and carry on is a good one. Anger can burn you up from the inside.

Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery.Today is a gift. Enjoy it. Thats why its called the Present.

  3. Thanks for all your great comments. I did go to the large street level Pharmacy nr Nana plaza as you walk towards the railway lines on the left. The 2 owners speak great English and have had the shop for a long time. They said kamagra jelly might be a good idea. It was very cheap. It worked wonders and was an amazing with no side effects. Still active the next day.

  4. Jap Si I presume you know the old quote. You can take the girl out the bar but not the bar out of the girl. If she is messing with your head and you keep replaying old memories and passionate nights then that's OK. We have all done that. Its great the chemistry worked with you two and the flames were lit. They are moments you will cherish for life. A few things to check to confirm bar girl status are tattoos and fairly obscene and weird English which she has picked up in bars. I'm not sure about the etiquette with smart phones in Thailand. I am always in touch with mine. I think most people sleep with them on their pillows. As an alarm clock many say!!!

  5. I am asking for advice on sending items through the post to Thailand. A friend has requested some special eye drops he cannot obtain in Thailand. I have purchased some here in Japan and have sent them. I wrote on the green customs form and also cut the corners off the small padded packet for observation. Does anyone have any experience of postal items being intercepted or going astray. I usually write gift on the green customs sticker and a low price so as not to attract too much attention. Any dos and donts would be welcome. Used smart phones,,medicines, clothing etc. Is an address or a PO Box better?

get a hotel room in kuta beach, bali. hang out at local restaurants and shopping areas in the daytime. easy to meet japanese women and also taiwan women. imo quality way above the average thai woman you meet unless in professional circles. and (make sure you are sitting) they dont need your money nor ask for it or hint for it or tell you stories about sick family members.

thai dating sites imo are largely women looking for serious aka financial support

Kuta very popular with single Japanese women who have some spare cash. They are known for being cougars to Balinese men and will spend lavishly on them. Some even sponsor them to come to Japan. You are correct about their quality though. Mostly graduates and would have no interest in begging for money for financial support. One of my friends here wrote an academic paper on the subject.

  7. Thanks for reply. I understand the problem. I'm just a bit fed up with short timers, escorts and massage parlours. I did have a great 3 day GFE last week and would love to repeat it sometime.

BTW are you a fan of Sir Richard Burton?

  8. Hello.  I see there is a new dating application in Bangkok called smooci.  It says it will be available in Pattaya and Singapore soon.

Its an interesting site and books dates for you. Its free but by paying you can get extras like GPS monitoring up to when the escort knocks on your door along with reviews and photo verification.

Has anyone had any success with it?

  9. Hello. I'm an older gentleman with a young heart and would be interested in meeting with more mature Thai women around 35-45 yrs old.

I do enjoy being with young women but do prefer someone a little older, wiser and more mature for something a bit more serious. I have often had success at the Bamboo Bar nr Walking street.

Any suggestions for dating sites or ways to meet a more serious Thai lady for companions. I am sure there is someone out there who would be suitable.

  10. Hello. I was wondering if anyone else has had side effects from the cheaper generic Viagra-sidegra in Thailand. I had some terrible headaches and also a migraine where I saw rainbow floaters. This was after using it.

I wonder if anyone else has noted this.

  11. Consulting Work - legal field?
Hi. I'm thinking to spend a length of time in Chiang Mai and catch up on life. But I'd still like to do something with some of my time while I'm there, so I'm wondering if anyone has experience or can suggest if there might be a need for a western (and western trained) lawyer/legal consultant in Chiang Mai. Maybe in the capacity as consulting counsel with an existing firm there or just in an ad hoc private capacity. Many years experience in the field, including Asia, but none in Thailand. Just something informal and part-time is what I was thinking. I'm pretty sure it's not possible, but hey, if you don't ask - you never know. Anyhow, thanks!
  12. I think it all depends on the following:

-- Is there a need for what he does?
-- Assuming that there is, what are the positives / negatives of being based in Chiang Mai to meet those needs? Can he weight them accordingly? Are any of the negatives too great a barrier for it to work?
-- Can he set up the business structure in Thailand to do so? I wouldn't think that would be hard.
-- Does he know how to market himself online? I would think that this would be crucial if you're going to do what he wants to do from Chiang Mai.
-- Will he rely on a number of income streams to make it work?

Personally, I would think that Chiang Mai might not be the best place considering that it's not a major hub. That's not specifically a barrier but it could be if he is required to travel.

  13. Inguinal Hernia - recent feedback - where to go? Chiang Mai or Pattaya?
A well trodden path, but I was wondering if anyone here has had any recent (within the last 3-4 months) experience of having had surgery for this in either Pattaya or Chiang Mai, and if so which hospital, (international or public), how much was it and was the procedure acceptable in terms of process and outcome. It seems that sometimes the postings here discussing this vary widely in reviews, which is totally understandable, but in the hope of a clearer and more recent review/report, I ask once again. Thanks!
  14. Root Canal Treatment - change of dentist mid-procedure? Possible or not?
Hi. I had a some root canal work done in Pattaya about 8 months ago but ran out of time to finish it (had to return home). So the dentist put in a temporary filling and said to come back around now to finish it. I am about to return to have it done. I have no complaints with the dentist who is doing the work - but I would prefer to continue and finish the work in Chiang Mai since apparently it will take about 2 - 3 weeks to finish it and I'd prefer to spend that time in Chiang Mai, but root canal is serious stuff so I don't want to make a mistake. It's been suggested that it's not a good idea to change dentists for this kind of work, so best to continue with the one I'm using. But I'm not so sure if that's really necessary. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of issue? Can I change mid-procedure? It sounds like good advice, but I would imagine that it is possible to change dentists during the course of a procedure. Any help or thoughts would be very welcome. And while I'm asking, any recommendations for a good dentist for root canal work in Chiang Mai? Many thanks!
