Everywhere? Have you really checked what "everywhere" requires?
Same sex marriage isn't legal in most countries. Most that do require residence status for a certain period of time (3 months min).
So yep, checked everywhere

Find somewhere else to marry? Somewhere that does not demand unobtainable paperwork.
Seems everywhere does....

Hi all,
I was wondering if someone could help me. I live in Thailand and have done for the past 2 years. My partner (same sex) is Thai and we are engaged to be married.
We are planning on getting married legally in Denmark. However, the law there states I need two things:
A CNI from my home country (the UK), but will need to get that from the Embassy
A CNI from any country I have resided in since I was 18 - Thailand is one.
The British Embassy website states that they can only issue for individuals marrying in Thailand? Also they don't do it for same sex marriages as it isn't legal here. Any advice on what I can do? It makes no sense as the UK registry won't issue me one either.
Thanks in advance

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice:
I had an appointment today with Samitivej Hospital at the dental department today for a general check up and potentially have a filling or two (I haven’t visited a dentist for around 5 years)
Anyway... got to the hospital and they overbooked and couldn’t see me but didn’t let me know. I’ve now booked in tomorrow to Bumrungrad. Is this a good hospital for dental?
What would the prices be roughly?
Thanks in advance

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone could help?
I am a British Citizen but live in Thailand. I am emigrating to New Zealand next year and need a form filled out by either one of the following:
Judge (Of the country's Judicial system), Justice of the Peace, Commission of Oath or any person authorised by law of that country to administer an oath for the purpose of judicial proceedings.
Naturally, I went to my Embassy this morning and was turned away saying "Never seen the form before, not doing it" Helpful huh?
Anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance

Hi,
This has probably been asked many times and I have tried to find the answers to what I need but can't find any.
I am an expat here, and have bad eyesight (-10 in both eyes). I wear glasses/contacts and when I lived in the UK, I had eye examinations once every 6 months. I went to an optician shop here and it was horrific, I don't even think they were trained. My left eye is twitching, and even though I know this isn't usually serious, I asked the lady during the "eye examination" and she said "can't see it twitching" and it "might to do with your age" I am 29.
Does anyone know of a good place I can go? Thorough examination? I don't mind the cost (as its my eyes) but anyone know what I would be paying?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I applied for a CitiBank credit card. I don’t expect to buy much on it but it’s easier than these thai debit cards to purchase things online.
I have have a work permit, been employment for 6 months so far and have a 3 year contract (employer verified this). I earn 92,000 thb a month and have a year long rental agreement.
They asked me for my UK address. I gave my mothers as I don’t have one. Why do they ask this? Is it for credit check (I don’t have any credit, at all)
What are my chances of getting accepted? Any other banks easier?
Thanks in advance

Hello all,
I’ve just had my WP and now I can open a bank account. What’s the best bank account I can open? Something I can hopefully use online to pay for goods and food shopping
Thank you in advance

Hi,
I bought a Dyson Fan in the UK when I was visiting my family and asked my friend to ship it over.
He put the value on the form as £449.00 which is around 19,300 THB. Now I have been hit with a customs charge (obviously) but the card hasn't come through yet.
Anyone know the approx amount?
Cheers

Hi all,
I have quite a high prescription (-10 in both eyes) and therefore require my glasses for pretty much everything.
Unfortunately, my glasses have broken and I need to get some new ones ASAP. I don't need a prescription. As I have to wear glasses a lot I don't mind spending a bit on them, (my ones which broke were designer ones, and I'd be looking for the same).
I have been trying to research and having very mixed reviews. Anyone got any good recommendations? I live in BKK so area doesn't really matter.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Really random question. I've just moved to Bangkok and my apartment is available for me to move into at the end of July. I'm going travelling for a bit and don't want to cart all my stuff around. Is there a facility to store my suitcase and 2 bags of stuff for 2 weeks?
thanks so much

Hi,
I am currently staying at the NASA Vegas hotel near the airport link in Bangkok. I have to get some Thai passport photos done for my work permit and visa.
Does anyone know of somewhere around here that does that? Can't seem to find anywhere
thanks so much in advance
HIV Test before operation - Samitivej (Bangkok)
in Health and Medicine
Posted
Hi all,
I had an operation at Samitivej around 6 months ago and they did a HIV test before it (I consented to it). I am just thinking now, I never actually had the results.
Do they actually tell you the results? I am guessing they only would if it was positive?
Thanks in advance
