Thailand has destroyed their tourist image for the good tourists who come and spend money, with all the jacked up dual pricing, piss poor attitudes, total lack of language skills, rip off prices, and high crime.  The "cream" has been scraped from the top, so now all they're left with is the dregs.  And no one but themselves to blame.

Whole hearted agreement, you reap what you sow. And you dont have to look to far in Pattaya to see what the locals are sowing. All of the above.

  2. I live in pattaya but I dont go to the beach here. In fact I dont recal any beach in Thialand (or Vietnam, Cambodia.....) that is not blighted by rubbish of all types. I am not OCD about rubbish but I see beaches in this part of the world as dirty as a bag of rubbish. No matter where I look the sand is contaminated with man made rubbish that could easily be put in a bin. People are just too lazy. I even see people drop rubbish (of all sorts) on the floor even when they are stood next to one of the large refuse bins on the beach road area. In my unqualified (and often not valued) opinion, all a fine does is suggest it remains OK to do as long as you can pay. This is clearly not true. The amount of rubbish littering beaches and the sea is amazing if only because it is accepted and we would rather argue of how appropriate a fine is rather then saying it has to stop. I am deeply saddened by the culture that is well established in Asia allowing rubbish to be left all over the place.

It has been awhile since i was in Pattaya but i am sure they do have an army surplus place there. If you have any Thai friends they can surely help you.

I know of 3 such places in the area where i live.

Take a picture of the thing you want and show it to motor taxi guys. They will know.

This box is circa 40cm x 30cm x 15 cm and fits my needs really well. I can get a box that is half the size in pattaya for 500 baht each, which is a good deal but the larger version would be far better if I can find. Thanks for your interest.

You can only apply for a multiple entry visa at a embassy or consulate. You cannot apply for one here in the country.

You can apply for a one year extension of stay based upon retirement at a immigration officeand then get a multiple re-entry permit to keep it valid if you want to travel.

You need 800k baht in a Thai bank for 60 days or proof of 65k baht income or a combination of the 2 totaling 800k baht.

To apply for the extension you need a non immigrant visa entry to apply for it. You can apply for a non immigrant visa at immigration that will allow a 90 day entry that you can then extend during the last 30 days of it

thank you for this. I know the numbers. I was not aware of the technicalities of re-entry. However I am looking for an agent who is recommended based on reputation.

  6. Hello and thanks you for taking time to read.

I did do a search on this forum for 'retirement visa' and got lots of webpages but little that offered up an answer.

I am 50 and living in Pattaya, I have been here predominantly since 2014 on various types of visa (presently 60 tourist visa). I am interested in having a multiple entry retirement visa to hopefully make it easier to stay here long term.

So, I would like to know if any strong recommendations exist for particular visa agents in the pattaya (or Bangkok) area who can take my passport and sort things out on my behalf. A turn key solution for a resonable fee - if such a thing exists.

I have looked on the internet and see several, but I have not got a clue who I should talk too. I dont know many people here whose advice is little more than gossip based opinion and I hope this forum may offer up a few worthy companies.
