A one year extension of stay is an option if you can meet the financial requirements.

A letter form you embassy would allow you to apply for a 30 day extension.

Or you could try to get another 60 day extension under this in immigration order 327/2557.

"5. In the case where an alien applicant does not meet the full qualifications stipulated by the criteria herein or in other cases not specified in this Order but a competent officer equivalent to or higher than inspector is of the opinion that the alien has legitimate reason for staying in the Kingdom of Thailand, the application shall be forwarded to the Commander of the Royal Thai Police or an authorized competent officer for further consideration of the alien's application."

The should be able to waive the one 60 day extension per entry rule under that paragraph in the immigration order.

Hi again, I went to immigration office today, they gave me only 2 options, leave country or get 400k (but takes 2 months so not really option).

They didn't give the options that you gave me; 327/2557 and the letter from embassy... is there any information you can give me about these two extensions in Thai language that I can show them? As it is a small immigration office they are usually not up to date with the latest information...

I tried downloading 327/2557 on immigration website but it just redirects me to somewhere else.

Any help would be great, thank you!

I don't meet the financial requirements, but I will try either letter from embassy or the 60 day extension (would be best).

    Thank you for the information!

No financial proof is needed to apply for the 60 day extension. It appears you qualify for one since you have not applied for one since you entered the country.

You should open a bank account in your name only and try to deposit 400k baht into you account. It only needs to be there for 2 months when you apply for an extension.  Or start doing the $1500 transfers into it.

Does you embassy issue proof of income documents that can be used to apply for an extension of stay. If they do then you could use it to meet the 40k baht income requirement for the extension.

Before you apply for the extension you will need to apply for a 90 day non immigrant (category O) visa entry. The 400k baht only needs to be in the bank on the day you apply for it. Requirements are here: https://bangkokimmigration.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/06-edit_NON-O.pdf

What if someone has non-o multi, but already used 60 day extension a month before covid? What are options for extending in this situation?

  4. Sorry, bit late but...

Immigration: Have one which is about 10-15 minute drive form city centre, easy to go, easy to find. Usually very few people and very fast, but have terrible English and usually only speak Thai.

hospitals: Never been to any here, but they have a few government and a couple private ones in the city. One of the government hospitals King Narai Hospital gets a lot of interns from top universities in Thailand - so probably quite good?

airport connections: Only way to Bangkok is minibus or drive by yourself. Can get a taxi too I guess? Same for all provinces I think.

renting a property: I rent small clean townhouse two bedrooms, no furniture around 3000. Apartments are about the same price, they are considerably smaller but come with all the furniture you need. Detached house is about 5000 a month to rent and just increases after that depending on size and whether its furnished.

Local meeting places for farang: No idea, never see much farang here

shopping facilities: big market 3 days a week known as banana banana, have robinsons and two big c's, 2 cinemas in total - SF at Robinsons and Major at Big C.

Lopburi is boring as f***, I really don't recommend living here, in the city there are a lot of monkeys who will steal anything that they will grab; whether it is your phone, your wallet or your hat. It makes it difficult to park in the city and the monkeys will f*** up your car.

But if you really want to come live here... then you're welcome, locals are shy but friendly, English is not used - good for practising Thai. ????

I'm wondering what kind of "big bike" you can find for 20K Honda or Kawa branded ?

    A wave !? a Phantom ?

What do you have in mind ? tell us what models you were thinking about ....

I said looking for a bike to use to transition to using big bikes. I would rather go 125 200 then onto a big bike, not from 125 to 400 - I think I would do a backflip.

Kawasaki's aren't actually that expensive, the price seems to drop on them, the w175 selling for 80k+new is 60kish 9 months old.

I don't like the phantoms as the seat is too low, but I guess that it can be modified - but the price is ok. Same as the Kawasaki Boss W175 - seems around mid 20k

I've seen a  kawasaki estralla250 in good condition for mid 20k says it is 1998 model, and a honda phantom (2002) modified tracker style for 30k~

Read your topic title again ... And ask yourself -

How was the old Japanese bike maintained ? If poorly, or not at all, then the Chinese bike will be more reliable.

I could go on and on ...

Your question is so open-ended that no concrete answer is possible.

Sorry, I know the question was a bit too open. It was more to ask peoples opinions - of course I wouldn't want to buy a bike that hadn't been looked after properly.

    Thank you.

  7. I like the style of the stallion centaurs, gpx legend. A 1-2 year old stallion, gpx or chinese bike is 20k, a 15-20 year old kawasaki, honda with similar looks is the same price. Which would be more reliable?

Looking for a cheap transition to get into big bikes, only ever drove 125cc autos before, so looking for a fully manual 200cc-ish bike.

    would appreciate any advice, thanks

She told us that this happens to most girls in Isan, but it is newer reported.

Yes, it is quite common in the small villages. Not even just girls but boys too. Usually its because they see sex as being so taboo that they aren't brave enough to tell their parents as they think they would be punished and it'd cause a loss of face.

Some do tell their parents and its either solved by money or ignored, and even if it is reported - there is a super low rate of conviction.

I see two people helping the cop, and one gave him the Gun.

So tree people did the killing.

And why you want to run for a gun, he's faster, beleave me..

when he (cop) gets the gun you have to go for it, running away won't help....

When the farang ran away, the cop paused. When the farang looks back at the cop, that's when the cop decides to pursue him. I'm not saying its the farang's fault, the cop is a ********, I just feel like if he ran and didn't look back then he might of been able to get away alive.

    Its a sad story.

I disagree, always stand your ground no matter of the circumstances, had he pulled it on me and had I had the chance, I would have shot him dead in self defence, just saying ????

The problem is looking from the video, there wasn't a chance. What would you have done? Grabbed it from his waistband? The Thai guy seems to be with two other friends, has a gun and is a few feet away from the farang when he shows his gun off - as someone who studies martial arts I don't see where/how you would've got the gun off of him and shot him dead without being shot first.

Get you figures correct before critisizing others. NO WAY can ANY a/c on 12 hours a day use less than your bill. Even if it only uses average 500 watts (0.5 units) per hour x 12 hours x 30 days = 180 units x 3.6 = 648 Bht.

When I installed a small A/C in my bedroom (after a couple of years using only fans) my bill only increased by around 300bt /month.  A/C was only on for around 8-10 hours, at 28 C, and was cycling perhaps no more than 20% of the time (except during the really hot season).

Of course everything else, well & irrigation pumps, shower, fridge, lights, etc. was already using around 2x that, but I was surprised how little extra the A/C used.  I later bought a small upright fridge/freezer and the bill again went up by a similar amount - this time surprised by how much it had increased.

    It's not possible, 0.5 units an hour X 9 hours X 30 days = 135 units X 3.6 = 486 baht.

Hey wgdanson, we got another failed maths teacher over here!????

I can't see under 500 baht is possible if you use your air con 10 hours daily !  Are you sure you live there 30 days per month ?

Maybe you just pop in for 1 week and impress us with your bill .

No, usually around 25 days. Some days come back late so AC is on less.

Not trying to impress anyone, it's only a bill.

Lolol, you people in this forum are so salty. Have to argue with everything. I use the aircon from average 7pm until 9am, fridge is always on, never use the TV it is actually unplugged.
If you actually looked at the government pricing you would realise it is actually less than 4baht. My aircon is brand new, so is the fridge. Fridge is on the lowest setting and aircon is mostly on 28 - at nights is on 26.
And here is my receipt since your brain struggles to believe it.
