Probably easier to overstay in the big cities actually as we blend in more and landlords don't usually bother filling in the forms. I did 4 years overstay on Bangkok.

I remember when it was only old Arab men who came here. Mind you, that is going back many years ago...
Arabs from France are the worse. I have seen them in action both in France and in Thailand. their arrogance is unbridled.

Life is becoming very cheap in Thailand for both locals and falangs.
Death seems like its the best way out for some of these people.
the usual culprits are Love, Money, and Drugs.

Well maybe that is because those criminals are the ones living in Thailand. I doubt the ones living in Africa have Thai wives.
thx for the brilliant deductive reasoning on your part sir.

And your point is what, precisely ?
my point is these criminals living in Thailand have no problem finding women to " married".
you seemed bent out of shape over a simple statement.

since we are on the topic of race and ethnicity in Thailand, it is rare for Thai media or people to referred to a Thai politician /actor/athlete/ etc . of Chinese descent as Chinese. the said person can be completely 100% Chinese blood , but if they speak Thai and have been here for 2 or generations or more they are considered " Thai".
Thailand has apprx. 11 million Chinese residing in LOS who considered themselves Chinese , the largest overseas Chinese community in SE Asia. we're not even including the mixed Thai/ Ch or ethnic Chinese who no longer speaks Chinese and are fully integrated into Thai society and culture. the old way of recognizing a Thai of Chinese descent was if their last name was more than 4 syllable or the first 3 to 4 letters of their Thai surname was of Chinese root ( Wong, Song, Chan, etc.)
these days, the Chinese surnames have become more elaborate and longer. the wealthy Chinese believe the longer the name, the more prestigious it is.

Bangkok has a huge Thai/Indian community. They own about 25% of everything in the city. They are originally of Indian descent but have been here generations and are fully naturalised as Thais.
and the other 75% of BKK is owned by the Chinese.

Tak Province is a backwater province . I am surprised the police found her so quickly. someone in Tak didn't care for her too much.

Exactly! Thailand has been very lucky, its neighbours are not much better, and often worse. Take Cambodia, since early 2000's there were constant predictions how Sihanoukville will be next Pattaya, and possibly even beat Pattaya. Well, 17 years of talk (admittedly not much past few years) and Sihanoukville is the sh*thole it was 17 years ago.
But watch out, Vietnam is already taking away tourists from Thailand in substantial numbers, Vietnam is bustling. If they manage to take the crippling corruption under control, Vietnam will surpass Thailand. It's massive shoreline and cleaner beaches is enough to take away vacationing families. Cambodia never became anyting due to insane level of corruption, and now country being sold to China.
Vietnam is already giving Thailand serious competition, and arrival numbers in Viet are going up rapidly.
All the while Thailand has nothing more than groups of Indian men sharing a bottle of beer, and Chinese groups walking and keeping their eye on guide's flag stick.
Thailand got exactly what it deserves, and what it worked hard for, for years treating Westerners like garbage, Thailand treating its own cities and infrastructure as if sabotaging it on purpose. Can't say I'm sad for them, what we see now in Pattaya is richly deserved.
Honestly, if you take away the red light districts, freelancers, go go clubs, prostitution of BKK and Pattaya/ Phuket. the numbers of tourists drop even more!!

meh. if they want out of this world, so be it. as far as we know, they had no kids which is the best case scenario if you opt to kill yourself.
her Thai family are the ones that are really suffering. 26 years old, what a shame.

We can all agree BKK is a very busy city regardless of the numbers. It is a big, sprawling metropolis that has many, many visitors. All I know it is crowded as hell every single time I'm there.

I'm surprised that Ha Noi is # 4. I think Sai Gon is far worse in all of Viet Nam.
Most Thais don’t have enough savings to last six months if they stop working
