By shear luck I was 2 days away from this happening to me. I got a 5 year Elite visa and assumed it was good for 5 years and all I had to do was report every 90 days which I did. Elite never contacted me about the 12 month thing. I went to immigration physically every 90 days including as the 12 month mark came around (my 3rd 90 day report was right around the 12 month mark obviously) no one ever mentioned the 12 month thing.
I got to the the airport for a holiday outside Thailand with my 6 month old baby and her mum (pre covid) they told me I overstayed my 1 year visa by 89 days. I told them they were mistaken as my visa was for 5 years. I showed them the date on the visa 3.75 years in the future and they showed me the date on my last entry stamp that was by then 89 days ago, and I said but I report every 90 days to extend that. I did not understand it at all, but since I was "only" 89 days past the 12 month mark I just had to pay the maximum fine. They tried to tell me I was naughty, I should apologies and that I was almost black listed and banned for 12 months. I disagreed as I thought a 5 year visa was good for 5 years and if there were other requirements Elite would have told me about them.
After that I emailed elite for clarification and they explained the airport immigration was right and the reason they could not have notified me is that they do not know if I left and re-entered Thailand which would reset the 12 months.
When I thought hard about it I remembered on my visit to immigration right around the 12 month mark, a work experience kid (university student) at immigration tried to tell me or ask me something about my passport or visa or something in Thai language, I responded something like "I think my visa is fine right?" in English, neither of us understood each other and we left it at that. My GF was with me on that visit to immigration but she just missed that interaction. Looking back now I assume it was about the 12 month thing.
If I happened to book the flight for 2 days later I would have been banned from Thailand for 12 months and in a country with my Thai GF where she was only allowed to stay for 1 month (not my country so no chance of applying for residency or anything). It would have been quiet a pickle with a 6 month old new born.- 5

Do not think he has much to whinge about as Thailand Elite are repeatedly announcing these conditions such as below probably aimed at members like the poster. The info has always been freely available and accessible. Its the members' obligation to read it.
I do not think they could dumb it down much more. From recent Thailand Elite communication ....
"Under the Thai Immigration law, it is illegal for foreigners to overstay the visa or permission to stay in Thailand. Thailand Elite members are required to extend your stay permission before the expiry date stated in your arrival stamp or your extension stamp, otherwise you will be considered as 'overstay'.
The penalties for overstaying in Thailand vary depending on the length of time you have stayed in the country past the visa expiration such as a fine, ban from entering the country, imprisonment, and deportation."The example you think shows how clear they make it actually shows how confusing it is and how bad their communication is. When you get a 5 year visa you think your visa is good for 5 years, and all you have to do is report every 90 days. Thats actually not the case, your "5 year" visa is only good for 1 year at time throughout a span of 5 years.
Look at their quote it says nothing about extending or leaving every year.- 1

A few years ago I registered a new car in Prachuap Khiri Khan. Now I am selling it in Nakhon Ratchasima.
Will we be able to do the transfer of ownership at the Pak Chong Land Transport Office (LTO)? Or will we have to go to Korat, or even Prachuap? Thanks for any info. -

I just got my L this week and did my first off roading today. The first thing I need is hard guards. It's disappointing Honda put hand guards on the rally and not the L, but that might make an easy fix. Would the hand guards from the rally fit on the L?
The main reason I bought this bike is because of the low seat. I am 172cm tall and new to dirt biking. Every other dirt bike was too high, including the rally. First time out today putting my feet down saved me several times. Yall ogres better get used to it, a lot more Asians buying bike than anyone else. -

Call them if they do not respond. I have traded with them before and (I think) they can get most anything if they do not have it in stock.
"Thank you for you interested our product but for this product is not support for Thailand." ????

They are available from where?

Try Hilti. They have a few locations in Thailand...
That might be a good lead thanks! They do have the product I want on their US website https://www.hilti.com/c/CLS_DIRECT_FASTENING/CLS_DX_PROPELLANTS2/CLS_DX_PROP2_CARTRIDGES but not on their Thai website. So I emailed them to ask about it. As far as I can see their only location in in bkk, which is not where I am, but if they have it they will ship it. -
Hi guys,
I need 27 calibre yellow loads as commonly used in nail guns. Google has lots of results from overseas but none from Thailand. They are difficult or impossible to ship from overseas because they have a bit of gun powder in them and get classified as munitions. Does anyone know where I might be able to find them in Thailand?
Thanks

Check Tru Value. Also think I have seen small sacks at Foodland or Friendship in Pattaya
True value looks like a good option thanks! -
You need to get a child legitimization document that legally establishes you as the father. You will get it at the district office that matches the location of the house book they are in. Then you can get some custody rights. Get a good Thai family lawyer.

I don't have the receipt but I have the warranty card. Oakley Thailand website does not give an address.
-
I bought a pair of Oakleys less than 2 years ago (the warranty period is 2 years). They broke at the hinge. This is covered according to the English language warranty on the physical warranty card and Oakley Thailand website.
No Oakleys dealers including their own store will honor the warranty. They say the Thai langue version of the warranty says only the lenses are covered. I went to the dealers with my Thai wife so there was no language difficulty.
Oakley Thailand website does not have any contact us info but they do have social media links. I sent them and Oakleys main international email address this complaint with picks weeks ago and they have not replied.
I have always bought Oakleys and I still would in countries where there is only 1 version of the warranty and they honor it, but not Oakley Thailand.

Good find thanks! God-almighty what an awful website but if the into is accurate thats a big help.

I imagine they have to get the appropriate form, the required documents and post them to the appropriate Thai embassy. If that is the case my questions are
* What is the appropriate form?
* What are the required documents?
* Which is the appropriate Thai embassy?
* Would it be 60 days with a possible extension to 90?
* Is multiple entry an option?
Gracias, Pura Vida!

You don't have to invest in anything. It can be in a Thai bank account or government bonds
Thanks for the answer. The OP says a fixed deposit Thai bank account, which like government bonds is an investment. Are you suggesting it can be in a regular savings account used for daily transactions?
Cheers

Does anyone know the following details about the requirement to transfer at least B10 million into Thailand for the investment visa.
1) Can the transfer come from any country or does it have to be the applicant’s passport country?
2) Can the transfer come from any overseas bank account or does it have to come from a bank account in the applicant’s name?
3) How long after making a qualifying transfer do you have to put in a qualifying investment and then apply for the investment visa? Could the applicant do these 3 things years apart?
Thanks
