  1. It depends on how much you are insuring it for.  If you contact:  MSIG Insurance (Thailand) PCL. 1908 MSIG Building, New Petchburi Road, Bangkapi, Huay Kwang, Bangkok 10310 | T: +66 2825 8888 | F: +66 2318

They will send you a price per amount insured.  Just doing mine and people say they are very good, they have branches all over Thailand.  My house is in Hua Hin, not sure where you are located if you need their number let me know.

  2. Hi all,

Just about to renew my house insurance and have had a ridiculous quote from AXA for 27,000 THB.  I did want to include earthquake and flood damage.  Anyone know of any good companies that would actually pay up.  I tried to claim on my current insurance for a broken window only 7000 THB with my currant insurance but they did not pay out hence the change.  They were costing me 13,000 THB a year!

    Any help advice welcome

    Thanks in advance

Thanks, JP, I am going to send that one to my Dad, who doesn't drink enough water.

We never do I live in the UAE and it can get into the 50s in the summer so I know how important it is to keep hydrated, hence the chart to help the students I teach on the importance of good hydration, a side effect fatigue by the way. Glad it was of some use.

Rest and Ice the top of your foot with an ice pack for 3 days 3 or 4 times a day you can still swim but no impact cycling as you say is ok because there is no impact.  Hard to diagnose with out seeing your foot but could be either tendonitis or stress fracture of the metatarsals, let hope its not that.   Also check that your laces are not done up too tight putting pressure on that area as your feet swell when they get hot.  Are you flat footed? to check look on the internet and do a wet footprint test.  Any questions happy to help been a sports therapist with the military for over 30 years.

It sounds like overuse yes too much too soon have you used an elliptical before, running action but no impact and it is weight bearing.  When doing any training think about the FITT principle Frequency, Intensity time and type apply this when you get back to running change the surface ie on a track which is sprung or on grass or sand,.  If you are icing the top of the foot with an ice pack 10 mins a time is enough try and do 3 or four times a day.  Good luck hope my advice is of some use.

  7. Great post as already said I wish I had read this before spending my savings nearly lost the lot was lucky I had a Usafruct against the land and would advise everyone to put it in place otherwise she would have sold the land for a fast THB.  I could have lost my house worth about 10 Mil but got away with a 3 Mil divorce and a good solicitor sorted out the rest.  Anyone thinking that a Thai woman is the love of their life be warned and protect your hard earned investment!

  8. Having been through this myself put the  house in your name the land in hers but do a usufruct.  If I had not done this she would have sold the land and I would have probably lost my house and I was married.  At least with a usufruct in place she can not sell the land without your consent.  I have been divorced three times and the last one to a Thai cost me 60 K, so better to be safe than sorry.  Good luck

  9. Hi I am a sports therapist and on Statins.  I had some muscle aches and my cholesterol was ok on 20 mg so I dropped down to 10 mg now on Crestor and it is good no pain.  Speak to your doctor first before you make any decision as he will have to check your current level.  If this does not work it may be a problem with poor posture, try to do some shoulder mobility exercises and some upper back strengthening exercises like squeezing the shoulder blades together and holding for 10 seconds repeat 10 x.  Loads of stuff on youtube to look at.  If you do not mind me asking what is your age? It is unusual to get pain in both shoulders so I would try to change your statins or lower the dose first.  Hope that has been of some help.
