  1. Hello,

We are a company located in Southern Thailand, and we are looking for an experienced Unity developer who can work for us for 3-5 months. After this period, you can freely travel around Thailand.
We will offer the visa and work permit.
Indeed, our fantastic art department has finished almost 60% of the required design work, and we are looking for a Unity developer, who is a responsible, polite, and hard-working individual, who has experience of making an RPG game (that has a level system) using the UNITY program.

If you are interested, please send us your resume and portfolio to [email protected]

    Thank you.

  2. Hello,

Can a foreigner purchase a used car with installments left (to be paid for a bit more than a year)?

If I can purchase it, is it gonna be that I pay the down-payment to the owner, and pay the monthly installments as it is (in the same way that the original Thai owner would pay)?

Because I am a relatively new foreigner here with Residence certificate, I am wondering if the government allows me to take the rest of the installments, when the ownership of the vehicle is moved to me.

Any answers, suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Regards.

  3. Hello,

I actually have 2 questions regarding the "registered address".

First, let's assume that I have a driver's license from Chiang Mai (registered address in Chiang Mai), and I moved to Phuket after receiving the driver's license in Chiang Mai.

Q1) If I apply for the yellow tabien baan in Phuket, and if my registered address on the driver's license is Chiang Mai, will it be a problem?

Q2) What is the relationship between the province on the license plate (car) and the owner's registered address on a driver's license? I mean, if I moved to Phuket with a relatively new driver's license with registered address in Chiang Mai, and if I purchase a second-hand vehicle registered in Bangkok, do I have to change the license plate to Chiang Mai (Not Phuket) because my address on the driver's license is Chiang Mai? (I mean, unless I change my official address on the driver's license to Phuket, I cannot register my ownership and the license plate in Phuket? - or can I transfer the vehicle without changing the registered province (i.e. the car keeps its registration in BKK, and thus keeps the BKK license plate.)

Thank you very much for your time and help. I would really appreciate it if any of you could answer my 2 questions.

    Kap khun krap.

  4. Hello,

I found a flight ticket of Etihad going to BKK via Phuket.

It seems that the flight first stops at Phuket, and goes to BKK on the same flight.

I understand that new rules had been announced recently regarding the entry, but I have some questions regarding the avialbility of etihad as an international airlines option as a foreigner.

Q1. If my flight is from the UK (resided almost 2 years), and if I have to change my flight in UAE (less than 12 hours stay at the airport), because I have to use Etihad flight, does it affect my eligibility of no quarantine requirement?

Q2. I found the flight (screenshot has been attached) which goes to BKK via Phuket. It seems that it's just a one single flight coming from Abu Dhabi, stops in Phuket briefly, and goes to BKK. Until recently, I was told that a foreigner cannot change flight in BKK to use the Phuket sandbox program. Can I use this Etihad EY430 flight, because I do not need to leave the plane until I arrive in BKK?

  5. Hello, first of all, I would really appreciate it if anyone could share your own experience of getting a work permit from your own corporation.

The reason for my question is,

I am not in Thailand at this moment, but I am trying to prepare as much as possible, before I arrive in Thailand. (Because it would be very difficult to be back in my home country again, especially in this COVID situation)

I am not married to Thai, and I understand the rule of 2 million baht registered capital and 4 Thai employees per 1 work permit.

But regarding the actual injection of capital, each website tells a different stories about the actual injection of the capital necessary for a work permit, and when I was able to have an Online conversation with a lawyer in Thailand, even she told me a different number (from what I've seen on the internet) for an actual injection of the capital to support a work permit. (She was very friendly though)

According to her, Thai registered corporation and a representative office of a foreign corporation need a minimum of "1 million baht" to be injected to support 1 work permit. However, many websites state that  "A foreign business operating in Thailand (Treaty of Amity company, or Representative Office or Branch Office of a foreign company) must show the evidence of bringing foreign money into Thailand as the minimum capital required by the Foreign Business Law Baht 3,000,000 per work permit." (This sounds like I have to pay the entire 3 million baht to the corporation accountbefore I apply for a work permit, if the company is a representative office or a branch office)

With these conflicting information, I would like to hear what your experience was.

I assume a foreigner getting a work permit by establishing a representative office or a branch office is rare.

So, your experience doesn't have to be a work permit from a representative office or a branch office.

What was the minimum amount of "injected capital" when you were able to receive a work permit from your established company?

Your experience or answer would be very much appreciated. (It's very tough to find another Thai lawyer to speak with, as I am not in Thailand)

    Thank you.

You could get a 60 day covid 19 extension after your have applied for the standard 30 day extension for a visa exempt entry.

You could apply for a non-b with the visa exempt entry or the extension of it up to the last 15 days of your permit to stay from them.

Thank you for your dedication, as always.

This is really helpful, and I have one more quick question to clarify.

So, technically, I can apply a non-b during the standard 30 day extension for a visa exempt entry, but NOT during the 60 day covid 19 extension? (i.e. the 60 days extension after the standard 30 day extension for a visa exempt entry)

  7. Hello,

    I am just curious.

Is driving from Bangkok to Surat Thani possible at this moment?

I, also, need to drive to the South in the near future, but the news talking about the lock down worries me. I was trying to find any detailed information regarding the restirictions on driving for inter-provincial movement, but I couldn't really get any info regarding whether there is permission required, quarantine required, etc...

Does anyone have any info on this?

  8. Hello, I'd like to change a travel visa to Non-B visa, and I understand the rule that it has to be AT LEAST 15 days before visa expiration.

My question is, if I have a 60 days tourist visa, can I still try to change the type of the Visa, after the 30 days extension?

For example, let's say I stayed in Thailand for 70 consecutive days with a 60 days tourist visa + 30 days extension.  Can I still change the type of Visa, because there is still 20 more days left by the extension?

Your answer would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you.

  9. Someone was saying that, due to the COVID, people (or foreigner only?) cannot incorporate in Thailand at this moment, because the government stopped accepting new company registration.. (According to him, only the transfer of an existing company is possible at this moment.)

I do not believe this is true, but would like to confirm. Is the incorporation in Thailand still possible? (Can a foreigner still incorporate (register a new company) in Thailand like pre-Covid days? NOTE: I understand the rule that foreigner's share would be limited to 49% to be a Thai company, etc...)

Your answer would be very much appreciated.

  10. Hello, I am planning to apply for a Tourist visa in Canada.

The website states that, I need "[a] copy of round-trip ticket or itinerary". Is it okay, if I give "two separate one-way tickets", instead of one round trip ticket for this requirement? (For example, one from Canada to  Thailand, and one from Thailand to Cambodia)

I was trying to contact the embassy, but nobody was answering the phone.

Any experiences at any Thai embassy in the world, would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

I have a Krungsri "ALL ATM" debit card. ( Also known as Bank of Ayudhya or Yellow Bank  )

No ATM fee any bank any branch in  Thailand.

I have read that TMB have a similar no ATM fee debit card.

This is amazing and very helpful information. (Wow, I didn't know that Krungsri & TMB have such a debit card.)

    Thanks a lot!

I live in Nonthaburi and can confirm there are no fees for withdrawing cash from any ATM within the 'Bangkok Metropolitan Area'.

I would imagine the same would apply for any cheque clearing within the same  'Bangkok Metropolitan Area'.

When you open an account the bank will need some documentation to confirm your address. I would therefore assume that they would prefer an address within the same province, but some banks / branches might be more flexible on this. All my accounts are within the same province where I live.

  13. Wow! Thank you so much for giving me an amazing answer! I was looking for someone who has the experience, and now, I finally could hear the confirmation. Thanks again!

    1. I have seen a list. I believe that all adjacent provinces are included in "Bangkok" for ATM charge purposes. I used to work in Nonthaburi while living in Bangkok. I never paid out of province fees in either place.

    2. The Bank of Thailand has four cheque clearing centres, in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen and Hat Yai.

    3. On at least one occasion, I have opened an account in a province where I did not reside. they are usually more concerned with establishing the fact that you reside here.  Exactly where you reside doesn't matter.

    1) Pick a debit card (bank) without such fees. Or withdraw money cardless through their mobile banking app (Afaik all banks don't charge fees if you do a cardless withdrawel)

    2) No idea, never used a cheque, but they probably charge fees

    3) Yes

  15. Hello, all.

I am planning to open a bank account in Nonthaburi.

I know that if I open an account in Nonthaburi, there would be a fee when I use ATM in another province (i.e. Phuket, Chonburi, etc...)

However, I googled Thai bank websites, and found a very vague information stating, "Bangkok Metropolitan Area (Bangkok and Nearby provinces) is considered as a same clearing zone"

Q1) Does that mean, if I open my bank account anywhere in Bangkok, Nonthaburi, or Samut Prakan, I can use ATM without a fee within a Bangkok metropolitan area? (i.e. If I opened my bank account in Nonthaburi, can I use an ATM without a fee in Swampy (located in Samut Prakan)?)

Q2) What about cheque clearing zone? Are Bangkok, Nonthaburi, and Samut Prakan considered as same province (or zone) when it comes to cheque clearing fees?

Q3) If I live in Nonthaburi, can I still open a bank account in another province? (like Bangkok, or even in Phuket)

Your answer would be very much appreciated.

All sections in my work permit were also written in both Thai and English:

Oh, wow, Thanks for your photo!

His version had "Conditions" section right below the "Permitted category of work" section, but it might be because his work permit is from a different province (or it might be because his work permit is very new - In fact, when I looked at the  full photo, I found that his work permit was issued just a few weeks ago, and I was surprised by the fact that the government still issues new work permits these days)

Again, I really appreciate your photo!

Thanks a lot, Mr. timendres, and KhaoNiaw. I now got some idea what it says, thanks to you!

Thank you for your help again, everyone.

    That's not a work permit.

I can't tell you for certain where this is from, but it's about tax, most likely income tax.

Could possibly be written on an income tax statement or something similar to this.

But it's a generic paragraph which you would find on any such paper, nothing specific to one person.

    Thank you for your answer!

Actually I've posted only a part of his full photo (for his privacy and identity), but when I looked at the full version it did seem like a work permit. (I admit that I don't know how the official work permit looks like)

On his other photos, he posted a blue book (similar to passport)  claiming it's the cover of work permit, and one of his photos shows "Permitted category of work" in English, above the Thai language I posted above.

I might add some other photos later, but I'm surprised that it might not be a work permit.

In fact, it is possible that this is not a work permit as you said.

    Thanks again!

  18. Hello, everyone.

I know someone living (it seems) in Thailand. He doesn't seem like a bad guy, but he somehow has some enemies in the expat communities, and a few days ago, he claimed that somebody who is jealous called police to arrest him for staying in Thailand illegally.

On his SNS, he claimed that he now has his 'work permit' which makes him a legal resident in the Kingdom, and he posted the picture of his work permit as an evidence.

It was interesting to see, as I was also wondering how he managed to stay in Thailand for such a long time. (I had some lunch with him several times, and he told me that he's like a digital nomad, and he is not married. (he is also under age of 50)) Thus, the part I was curious to look at, was the "Permitted category of work" and the "condition" section below the "category of work".

    1269245279_Whatdoesitsay.png.57af653dc4b93daf69f53d9e6fe92cb2.png

Even though I personally had no trouble with him, it seems his lifestyle hasn't changed that much - and this makes me curious what the work permit on his SNS says.

    Can anyone read Thai?

  19. Hello,

Sorry to bother you guys with a stupid question, but what does the two land crossings per "calendar year" mean?

What I understand is that, the calendar year starts from January 1st till December 31st, so I can cross two land borders within that period, and that means, even if I crossed the land borders twice during the November and December 2018, the limit for the land crossings would be reset from January 2019, and I can cross the border twice again anytime in 2019? <-Is this correct?

Your answer would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks.

  20. Hello,

I am a US Citizen and I received 30-days Visa-exempt entry. Since I am planning to leave Thailand on late November, (My entry was on Oct.1) I am thinking about extending my entry stamp (visa?)

I have researched on my own, and I know that there are several options (i.e. land-crossing, visiting other countries by air, etc...), but it seems that, extending my visa at the immigration office is the most convenient option for me due to my schedule.

    I have three questions here.

    1) If I get a visa-extension for 30-days at an immigration office, is it going to affect my ability to enter Thailand in the future? Personally, I worked hard without any holidays for the last 3 years, so I am planning to visit Thailand very often next year - Not for a work, but for my year-off (2018). But if the history of my visa extension at the immigration office brings some difficulties to re-enter Thailand next year, (from USA next year) I would just choose to purchase a flight ticket to the neighbouring countries.

    2) I know I can get only one visa-extension, but if I visit Thailand again in the future, can I get a visa-extension again with the new stamp on my passport?

    3) If I do the land-crossing visa run (I've read that I can do 2 land crossings/calendar year) is it going to bring some kind of "suspicion" to the immigration officer at the airport? (I mean, is it going to affect my ability to visit Thailand from USA, in the future?)

On a side note, my current plan for 2018 is,

    1) Leave Thailand -> to the US on Late November/2017

    2) The US->Europe->Thailand on Mid-January/2018

    3) Thailand -> Cambodia (By air) on Mid-February/2018

    4) Cambodia ->Thailand (By air) on Mid-March/2018

*Stay in Thailand for 2 months (by doing land-crossing/air tickets/visa extension)

    5) Thailand -> The US before the end of May

    6) USA->Japan->Thailand on Mid-September/2018

*Stay in Thailand for 2 months (by doing land-crossing/air tickets/visa extension)

    7) Thaland->USA before the end of November

    8) USA->Thailand on March/2019

*Stay in Thailand for 2 months (by doing land-crossing/air tickets/visa extension)

    9) Back to USA on May and Work...

As you see, I'm planning to come to Thailand quite often for the following years, so I am very cautious about doing land-crossing/visa extension...

Thank you for reading my long question!
