Thanks for your good advice. I considered your points and ordered a mountain bike off lazada instead. Really looking forward to trying it out.
Good idea ... Just remember not to reward yourself with a pint after each ride ! :-) ... go easy on the food as well ...
Simply put ... you want to loose weight ... Change what you eat .. you want to improve your cardio .. do the exercise ... and NO sugar .. the white killer .. :-)
I am no fitness freak .. but 5 years ago I was pushing 125kg and ultimate couch potato BP climbing and Type 2 Diabetes looming around the corner .. now I am 80kg ... and into road cycling ...
Change what you eat .. and burn some rubber on your bicycle .. Oh .. if you live in a Condo .. forget the elevator ... and walk up the stairs ! I call that free exercise :-) ...
Good luck !!

Looks sturdy to me ..... I do a lot of road cycling .. and a fair bit of trading on a static bike similar to the one in the photo .... One day you might consider getting out on a bike as well ... Good luck with your training .. Get a good pair of headphones or have a TV in front or you might die of boredom!

Norwegians are under the standard visa exempt scheme.
Those from Hong Kong, Laos, Macau, Mongolia, Russia and Vietnam are under a bilateral agreement.
Great :-) ... Would you know where the nearest immigration office is that I would have to go to if I need to extend for 30 days ? I will stay in Sattahip .... I assume it will be a good idea to apply for the extension 'early' ... i.e. at least a week before ...

If you enter on the standard visa exempt scheme the 30 days you get can be extended for 30 days one time. If you get the 30 days from bilateral agreement no extension is allowed.
There is not 30 day tourist visa. Tourist visas allow a 60 day entry that can be extended for 30 day for those from most countries.
Thanks for this info ... Now I need to check if Norwegians are entering under the 30 day Visa Exempt Scheme or under the 30 days Bilateral Agreement ...
Oh ... and I better bring a blanket ... I see its rather cold in Thailand now :-) ...

OMG - is it even possible to drag this thread out any longer. I thought that matter was clear and done with after 10 posts about...

:-) .. May I ask.... if you do enter on a 30 day tourist visa ... How 'many' 30 days extensions can you apply for, before you have to leave ? Is it only one 30 day extension ?
-
ahhhh .... I have followed this ..
So basically if you enter on a non visa 30 day permit (which costs you nothing) you can not extend your stay .. but if you applied for a 30 day tourist visa (which you do have to pay for) before entering the Kingdom ... THEN you can extend your stay for 30 days ......

Thanks for the information ! Much appreciated ...

Please forgive my ignorance - Could you not just apply for an extension that does exists? How ever many days that might be.... ?

Yep, some sad deaths here. I was touched personally by one recently. But try telling one at risk to go home and see how far you get.
Hmmm maybe they have no other home to go to ....

Just that I am reflecting on your comment earlier about go and live in a Muslim country ... Well I have worked and lived in Malaysia and never had any problems with any Muslims. Sure the country have had issues between the Chines ( minority) and Muslims ... But considering the large mix of religions that you find in that country. They get on rather well as far as I can make out. Or maybe your experience in that Muslim country is different?

Maybe you could try living in a Muslim country and see if you change your stance.
Have you been to Penang or KL ?
