As for alt-coins, they are mostly nonsense. All the alts will benefit from the greater attention focused upon crypto as Bitcoin climbs this year but, apart from short-lived spurts, none will have the same sustained rise because the institutional investors, and most members of the public, have no interest in anything but Bitcoin.
I agree for all altcoins except Ethereum.
It has a clear use case right now and in the future, so I expect it to keep growing (in price and usage) at a huge pace.
All the other alts either try to imitate Bitcoin or Ethereum.
I believe a lot of investment will also flow into Ethereum as Bitcoin picks up. Additionally, the investors will be using the Ethereum network without realising, as all stablecoins run on it. Future on chain derivatives will also too.

Why would I show you anything? Just because you request that? ???????? Who do you think you are?
What you believe or not believe, is totaly irrelevant to me. Have a great day! Spend some money ????
You make ridiculous claims on the Internet and expect people not to call you out and demand proof? You see I’m actually Elon Musk, I like to read ThaiVisa in my free time. So come talk to me when you have your first billion. And no, I’m not gonna prove it, just believe I’m Elon if you want to believe!

So, you have a different opinion than me. Then I make an ass of myself and act like I have superior knowldge??? How about you with you agressive stance of different opinion? At least I can keep calm and not hit the roof with aggression and irritation. Take a chill pill, dude. After that you can go study the curves. I base my knowledge and assumptions on 11 years of investing and trading with crypto. That without making one wrong investment. What do you base your aggressive stance on, Sir? ????
Because you’re peddling <deleted> while disguising it as gold, and claim to know more than everyone else.
All I stated are facts:- XRP is centrally controlled by a private entity
- currently being investigated by the SEC
- has no use case despite being around for years, it’s for pure speculation
Any serious investor will look at these facts and realise that it’s a ticking time bomb. Of course that doesn’t mean you cannot make some serious money speculating on it. But same could be said of any bubble or highly speculative asset. My source of irritation was your claim that XRP will hit their ATH in less than three years (currently 6x its price), while at the same time you claim Bitcoin has no such potential, and won’t even go 3x in three years.
Obviously ludicrous claims, as you can’t back either.
“Study the curves” please don’t get me started... that’s as reliable as astrology or palm reading.- 1

Going to make a short answer on that one. No use to go deeper, when you seem to be totally unaware of how crypto currencies move and react during time. What also can be seen in a very clear line through all of them. However, that is over course for you. ????
Let´s just say that Tron, Binance, Ethereum and Litecoin so on forever.... have one thing in common. They all hit a top in the middle of the period from 2013-2021. based on that, it´s my estimation that XRP is going to have that high in the next coming 3 years. Based om my history with crypto, I have not missed so far, so beleive what you want, boy. ????
The point is you can be right or be wrong and it’s all pure speculation. And your justification is that all those hit a top in an 8 year period? And that’s why your prediction of a new XRP ATH is as ridiculous as saying BTC cannot triple in value in 3 years. You just don’t know, and you’re making assumptions based on past behaviour, which might be wrong or right, yet claim to know it all.
XRP trading is currently suspended in the USA. The company is under investigation. Most likely trading will resume, but what if it’s not and the company is charged? The price will dissolve immediately.
You’re just gambling, might as well admit it instead of making an ass of yourself and claiming you have superior knowledge.

Today XRP stands in about 13 baht per coin. Look at it in 3 years. It will be a minimum of 100 baht per coin.
Why, did you read tea leaves that told you so? On what basis can you determine that? And your claim that Bitcoin won’t 3x in 3 years is a joke. It might go 10x or might lose half its value, the fact is no one knows.

XRP is total thrash and the antithesis to what crypto should be.
A crypto currency that is centrally controlled by a private entity, is not used for anything except speculation (the others are at least used in black markets), and seems to only be pumped and dumped for no reason except telegram pump and dumps.
If you want to dabble in <deleted>coins, at least do it in community ones that actually share some values with Bitcoin.

With enough Gold coins in my pocket, I will be the local warlord.
Hmm no, the first thug will crack your nose and take your coins if you’re lucky, if you’re unlucky you’ll get killed on the spot.Read about this guy’s experience in Bosnia and you’ll see that the most important thing to stockpile is guns, ammo, food and medical products. Besides that it’s important to have a skill to barter.
Gold and silver were completely useless and your reliance on them will get you killed when <deleted> hits the fan.

What is not arguable is that most of these coins will disappear, with the last bag holders taking the losses.
BTC and ETH are going nowhere for at least a decade,. The rest, who knows, but some 50 to 90% will disappear.
Obviously the ones which survive will make their owners a lot of money, but at this point picking one is gambling. As long you’re not deluded about that, I see no problem with it.
You’ll find people peddling all kinds of <deleted>coins for millions of “technical” and emotional reasons. It’s still a casino, don’t buy the FUD.

I'm happy to learn, and have a fair knowledge of IT systems - mining is attractive as the electricity rates here are so low and doesn't require so much upfront investment when considering the price of bitcoins right now!
Definitely not looking for off the shelf, hoping to dive in myself!
If that’s the case then you’ll find plenty of materials online on how to mine. At the moment only ETH is worth it at Thai electricity rates. However unless you already own several powerful nvidia cards you won’t be able to buy them right now, as all the miners have pushed their prices so high that you won’t make a profit for a year or longer.

Another point: if you’re serious about investing (not gambling) then make sure you don’t buy any coin besides Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Many of the current crop of coins will die a painful death. There will be some survivors but it’s a toss up at this point. Bitcoin and Ethereum will survive.

Forget mining, you’ll require a lot more knowledge to jump into it.
The recommended way is to buy coins off some exchange like BitKub, Binance, Coinbase, etc. Keep them in the exchange wallet (NOT recommended for BitKub) or in your own wallet and buy / sell as you wish.
If you’re looking for off the shelf financial products, look for Grayscale Trust in your broker.
Another option is to buy MicroStrategy stock, they own so much Bitcoin that they have become a proxy for it.
I don’t recommend the off the shelf approach, you’ll be paying a premium and won’t have full ownership of your coins.

Most shops in BKK's Chinatown charge between 100 and 150 baht commission, even for 5+ baht bars.

The Xiaomi Chinese version works with the English app. It has a massive advantage over the international, you can program it to go into full blast mode when the AQI level goes over a certain threshold, go into quiet if AQI is good, etc.
However you have to change the region of the app to China, and it won’t work with international models. Because of this I only use the Chinese versions at home (I have 3). -
Anyway I'm glad everyone got their funds back. I would certainly be sweating if I had any there while this was happening. Crypto can be a wild ride.

Been doing this for awhile and am not anti Bitkub.... but seriously, this is exactly what a 'warning sign' looks like (service outages and unclear reasons for such outages). BTC-e, Flexcoin, Intersango....
Cold storage is your friend. And if the term cold storage confuses you.... let's say that storing your money OFF EXCHANGE is your friend. Only keep what you want to trade in your exchange accounts.
Agreed, and only in reputable exchanges with a long history. Binance is my favourite by far. Coinbase is good too but don't expect it to perform very well during large pumps or dumps. Honestly I can't trust any others at this point.

Bitkub uses cheap virtual servers from Amazon instead of powerful dedicated servers, so it may be really a shortage of resources for heavily increased traffic.
How do you know they don't use AWS dedicated servers?

Just heard from someone close to a top insider that it crashed because of too many people signing up, not a hack.
Not sure if I buy that explanation, but let's wait and see.

Still down. I'm starting to sense a hack.

I’m happy with the Thai standard, as it will be more liquid here, and I probably have to pay a higher premium for 99.99%.

Thanks for all the answers.
It’s not really for investment, more for long term insurance. I guess the more time I spend in Asia the more I become like them ????
Those Hang Seng coins look pretty good, I’ll have to check them out. Looks like the premium is the same as in a one baht bar, so won’t pay more for them vs the bar.

and all that juicy casino business goes to cambodia. might as well keep it in-house where you can tax it, get the benefits of employment, and skim a little off the top. if they're gonna gamble anyway, might as well have it in the open and legal.
That’s a good point, and while money laundering will be easy, I suspect it’s quite easy to launder money in Thailand with or without a casino.- 1
