Reporting back as a courtesy to your kind responses, KhunBENQ and ubonjoe.
No problem reentering LOS from Japan. The immigration officer was entirely disinterested in my arrival and through the non-existent Thai immigration queue in record time, I don't joke either.
Had a great time and thank you, again.

I predict your prediction is nowhere near the mark. Too many interested parties and hard cash involved. I'll remind you again, TiT.

This really makes me angry and the sooner the antics of these people are curtailed, the better for us.
Get a grip. TiT. You've been doing it wrong all along. That rhymes.

Look and understand. If those in authority deemed the documentation to be legitimate then your friend did nothing wrong.
Bringing your western sensibilities here is fine but they don't align with Thai sensibilities in the slightest.
Try reporting it and see how you're laughed out of town.

No new news here.
This isn't charity and the cogs were greased with the 20k. Cash is king and your friend did nothing wrong.
Everyone slept well and the earth continued to spin on its axis.

I was special forces but have to consider my words. Let's just say that you wouldn't argue with my squadron.

Actually the whole Elon Musk story is told, from the very beginning up until the famous emails.
Turns out that he didn't make many friends on the site, and that it was not only Vern Unsworth who ran into trouble with him...
I love Twitter for that reason. We can argue and visualise.

Didn't BJ tell the world recently that Immigration under his leadership wasn't doing "tips" anymore? Perhaps someone has absconded with the "No Tips" sign at Jomtien.
I did note the 'No Tips' sign at Swampy departures a few days ago. Might be more relevant at arrivals, though.

From Wallanders earlier post #7 :-
"we are leaving Thailand next year so this is last extension anyway"
So I would assume that he is intending to wait until he is out of the country anyway, and consequently any complaint will probably get fired straight into the garbage bin as any ensuing publicity would only be damaging Thailand's "tourist friendly" reputation - they are making it abundantly clear that ex pats are of little consequence!
What complaint? The OP was politely asked if he'd like to donate to the pot. He declined and was subsequently granted a trouble-free stay. TiT.

If your post is accurate it sounds like any official complaints about corruption in the immigration/visa realm can be corrected by focusing on the Jomtiem facility.
I know a guy who does his special annual report to Jomtiem and lives as far north as you can get. Never a problem and never will be.

Question: If you have the 24,279+/- (your own money) obviously you can just deposit the money yourself but how long do you have to maintain that amount in the account? What if it goes below that?
Deported to Indonesia could be a possibility, I suppose.

Wouldn't settling the 10k generate goodwill with Thai immigration? I don't know about these things but maybe they give you a five star rating on their computer system.

answer from KasikornBank: No work Permit, No loan
Going around in circles. Then it's back to the agent at 20k or whatever the going rate is to deposit the funds. Seriously!

Sorry, but pure speculation as this has been going on for years. Don't forget, TiT.

While there are currently some lovely flight attendants on Air Asia, I see problems ahead if you can't manage to control your urges better.
That's what the WC is for.

Thanks, Nichada Nick. Thai AirAsia are the best LCC in LOS as far as I'm concerned.

I'm glad you were impressed with the service, Nichada Nick. I regularly have AirAsia flight attendants sit with me and soothe my flight anxieties. Had a back rub once which stopped me freaking out due to turbulence.

Never saw the point of the guy. I'm sure his articles mean a lot to some, though.
Denied Entry at DMK with 60 day visa from Penang

The OP didn't come prepared so brought it on herself. Hardly horrifying, no one died or was injured (except their egos).
It was a welcome post, though, and acts as warning as to what can happen if you take the Michael.
The OP and her husband had a good run and their luck finally ran out.
