  1. I buy chicken breast from local BigC for less than THB50 kg. Compared to my home town of Perth, WA, where they were AUD8.99 per kg (over THB200), I find it extreemly good value. What I am surprised at is anything with bone or fat is 3 times more expensive (have you seen the price of chicken feet...)

my livenet went missing for a day or two

I downloaded and installed version 4.8.3

delete the old version and install 4.8.3

    should be ok then

Thanks Soapy, the first intelligent reply to address the problem. I have just done the same, (upgraded to 4.8.3) and all working on both devices.

  3. I've been using Live NetTV on my Android box and Android phone for the last 6 months. In the last coulpe of days, the Android box deleted the app automatically, and again after installing the latest apk from their site. Today I got a message on my phone from Google Play Protect saying "This app is fake. It tries to take over your device or steal your data"

<deleted>, anyone else having this problem?

  4. No traffic on this thread for 8 years but I'll give it a shot.

My friend and I are travelling up from Chaiyaphum to Udon Thani on the 25th April for a 5 night stay and looking to play some golf there. Royal Creek, Udon Thani, and Victory Park, Nong Khai are our choices.

Are there any locals that play either course who maybe we could join for a social game? also any thoughts on these courses (condition and best days to play, etc)

Thanks in advance for any constructive replies...

  5. Played 4 ball Singha Park, Khon Kaen, Monday. THB1300 all-in, pp. Course in good condition. Individual carts wth screen between caddy and player. Changeing rooms and restaurant open. Staff wearing masks and requested for customers when booking in. Very quiet though, only saw one other group (5-ball)

p.s. travelled from Chaiyaphum, no restrictions

i used to watch nothing but my Slingbox, but after Foxtel Go and the other Free To Air channels made their apps, I stream directly from Foxtel and from the channel apps, but the Slingbox is a great backup and almost never fails.

I also used to be able to use Foxtel Go (I have a Foxtel subscription in Australia) via IPVanish, but a few months ago it stopped working, so I cancelled the VPN.

What VPN are you still able to get Foxtel Go?

I don't have a 'contact'. And it doesn't matter what country you are in. I have a vanilla set top Android box I bought from a mall, and pay a UK company 70 quid a year for every Sky channel, every UK channel with catchup TV, every Premiership and Championship match of the season, many hundreds of other channels, Eurosport channels, Bein sport channels, US sports and news channels, over a thousand films including very latest and good copies, all major PPV sport broadcasts, box sets, etc. Was a doddle to set up (I'm very slightly techie but not much).

PS - whoever said MOBDRO is good needs their head tested. It's OK for free I suppose but pretty dire overall.

I am also looking for IPTV service, subscription no problem. I tried a 24hr trial with IPTV Solo,  Thousands of channels from around the world but impossible to watch as continuously buffering, so if you could send me info on a reliable service I would be grateful.

Also minimum requirements of a TV box (ram/rom/4k etc)

    TIA

    Already have it.

    Current Australian travel restrictions:

If you are an Australian citizen or a permanent resident you cannot leave Australia due to COVID-19 restrictions unless you have an exemption. You can apply online but you must meet at least one of the following:

your travel is as part of the response to the COVID-19 outbreak, including the provision of aid

your travel is essential for the conduct of critical industries and business (including export and import industries)

you are travelling to receive urgent medical treatment that is not available in Australia

you are travelling on urgent and unavoidable personal business

you are travelling on compassionate or humanitarian grounds

your travel is in the national interest.

If you are NOT an Australian citizen you do not need permission to leave

  10. I too intend to use Peter Dennis's method (thanks Peter for your comprehensive Road Map)

My O-A visa (retirement) issued by Canberra Embassy in Oct 2018, and with current permission to stay till 13 July 2020. So will exit just before (without Re-entry Permit) and re-enter VE.

My question is should I use my Australian Passport that expires July 2023, that I  am currently using, for the VE to O visa, or could I use my UK passport that expires July 2027? (note my biometrics have been collected using my Aussie passport)

  11. In Feb 2017 I went with an Aussie friend and 2 Thai ladies to Nong Khai. While there we thought about going to Laos for a day trip. We asked at the immigration office adjacent to the Friendship Bridge if we could all go. No problem for us Farangs as we had our passports, but the Thai ladies could not as they only had their ID cards, no passport.

Now, have the requirements changed? or were we given the wrong information by the immigration officer?

  12. I don’t know if I have missed something in all this banter about proving INCOME. Doesn’t Thai Immigration still accept embassy letters as proof of INCOME? That letter just states one's INCOME, not the amount brought into Thailand each month, which is up to the individual.

Now that SOME embassies have stopped issuing these letters another method of proving INCOME is necessary, but that shouldn’t  change what the individual wishes to do with that INCOME.

I don’t see why a person from one country can just show certified income letter and one from another country has to bring in THB 65,000 every month whether needed or not.
